Not really she has mahogany hair which is a red/brown colour.

Hm... the more I think about it... Zoe Kravitz.
Apparently, Kaya is "winning" YAY, this would have been cool if they had actually made the movie :( but, anyway she is the perfect choice for the role, she has the same kind of 'magnetism" that alaska has,she played the problematic Effy in Skins which is almost the same role, and she is stunning www.youtube.com/watch?v=SP_SkCR2ilI (a fanmade trailer with her)

I think Kaya Scodelario would make a perfect (or as close to perfect) Alaska Young. It'd be tough, but she's a good actress & I think she could do it. That's how I pictured Alaska while I was reading-- as Kaya. :)

I don't picture people as book charecters. Alaska is her own person. Daniel Radcliffe isn't harry potter he's just portraying harry potter. When I read harry potter that's not how I pictured him and that's ok because it's a person pretending to be someone else,

I think that Kaya would be perfect for the role, but also I think hilary duff (brunette) and kat dennings are good too. :)
I always pictured this girl, from the movie "En kärlekshistoria". She's my Alaska Young. 
I first discovered this when watching a YouTube clip where someone had chosen a scene of this movie as accompanying footage to the exquisite song Museum of Flight by Damien Jurado.

I'd have to say Troian Bellisario or Alexis Bledel. I could see Dakota Blue Richards as well. I definitely see Kaya as well, but not as much as Troian. I could even see Samantha Barks. I've always pictured Alaska as having a very unique beauty, with long, dark hair and really pretty eyes.
I didn't have a face for Alaska while I was reading the book. But I can somehow imagine Kaya as Alaska. Whoever plays Alaska though, she better do a great job haha

I really want the actress to be unknown, actually. As far as looks go, then definitely like I said earlier. But I think with Nerdfighteria being a community based on individuals and often unappreciated talent (I mean, come on, DFTBA Records is YouTube musicians, it's freaking awesome) and I think it'd be a great platform for someone new to come into the scene. I had really wanted an unknown Hazel but since that didn't happen, if Looking for Alaska gets its movie (I'm hoping if the TFiOS one goes well, Alaska might get a shot), I really want someone new.
