Dahlia DeWinters (dahliadewinters) | 11 comments Hi, I'm an author and I wrote Kitty Wishes, my first published novella.Kitty Wishes.

It is an IR book and paranormal lite.

I will warn that the sex scenes are explicit. ;)

So, if you like, feel free to check it out. It's about a woman who's been cursed to be a cat shapeshifter. It's very light and fluffy. :)

Roslyn I just joined the group. I didn't know about it until recentlly. I've written one paranormal, Gabriel's Redemption which is IR. With Lisa G. Riley I've written two paranormal historicals. Stolen, which is IR and Given, which is AA.

I've heard from a couple of people they didn't know there was a sequel or they read the books out of order because they didn't know there was an order;) My publisher is looking into making sure they are more closely linked.

Alicia (writeralicia) Hi there.

My urban fantasy novella Don't Call Me Angel will be published on June 15. It's about a fallen angel who recently escaped from Hell. The main character is Black. (I'm not calling her African-American because she's an angel--not really from Africa or America.) If you pick this up, please don't expect a paranormal romance. There may be (but maybe not!) some sex, but you're not gonna find a romance in this book.

My young adult, science fiction novel Echo will be published . . . probably early next year. Yes, I know Goodreads says August. But frankly, it's just not going to be ready. I'll change the date on Goodreads once I'm relatively sure about a new date. I'm thinking February. The main character in this one is mixed race, and her love interest is White-ish. (The "ish" is because they're not on this planet, so race can't really be defined by our standards.)

I hope you guys will consider reading one or both of these!

Janet Eckford | 18 comments Deva wrote: "When I read the synopsis for book two, I had no idea it is part of the same series. Well, I did but the people were different, and I was expecting to get some closure from the cliffhanger in book 1..."

Each book has a different hero/heroine but there is the same story arch. I was interested in creating a world but having the reader see it from different peoples perspectives. I've started what I'm hoping will be another series but with a more sci-fi bent to it with a dystopic society that has a different hero/heroine for each book. The first book, Still Another Day, is already out. I just have to wrangle my muse into helping me with the next one;)

message 13: by L'Poni (last edited Apr 15, 2012 07:53PM) (new)

L'Poni (lponi) | 41 comments I just saw this thread! I'm an author of the popular (must be optmistic) space dragon series called The Society On Da Run. Get ready for the strangest synopsis of a non-cliche magazine series:

The Draconizica empire has descendants on the planet Earth. These descendants formed a sector empire called Antonin. A lone dragon shifter bred with the wife of the Roman Emperor Augustus and the first dragon shifters were born. In the modern day, the TSODR series follows the descendants of these dragons and various members of the three central empires: Antonin (dragon shifters), Lucerano (alien bug shifters) and Tyto Alba (owl shifters). Each issue of the bookazine focuses on certain characters through poetry and short stories. The series is not bound by cliches, instead it reverses and twists them.

I hope it catches everyone's interest. The leading man is Italian dragon and the leading lady is an African American whom has a strong bond with Dragons. Since it's an expansive magazine series, I recommend anyone reads The Love of an Italian Dragon and The Androids and the Dragons and then read the first issue La Cicala di Italia. Here's the series page: http://www.goodreads.com/series/74542...

I hope everyone enjoys the books!

message 24: by Violetta (new)

Violetta Vane (violettavane) Hi! I write mostly m/m romance, almost all of it IR/MC and paranormal/UF. Our most recent story, Cruce de Caminos by Heidi Belleau , isn't a romance, but the main character, who is Cuban-American, has some African ancestry that becomes very important thematically in his follow-up story, The Druid Stone by Heidi Belleau .

We have a non-paranormal MC free short story, Harm Reduction by Heidi Belleau . And finally, a Hawaiian-based paranormal coming out next month. Hawaiian Gothic by Heidi Belleau .

Whew!

This looks like an awesome group and I'm excited to join. It's also a good reminder to finally buy Midnight Riot, which has been in my TBR for too long.

message 25: by L'Poni (last edited May 22, 2012 10:24AM) (new)

L'Poni (lponi) | 41 comments I was thinking of editing my original post, but I'd rather post my new introduction. I'm the author of The Society On Da Run, an expansive Subscription Book (a new genre I made up) that is currently at 200,000 words out of 500,000 written. Each month a few new chapters are placed in the book from it's original version and are made available for download on Kindle and Smashwords. It has many themes, including an interracial relationship between a space dragon god and a human lady. The book is mostly interlinked stories taking place in the same universe with different characters, most of the characters are re-occurring in most of the stories.

The Subscription Book genre is not a serial novel and it works best with short stories.

Mark it to-read!! Dragons and Cicadas The Society On Da Run by Nipaporn Baldwin

I decided to give up the magazine series, because the individual issues seem to get bad reviews whereas the Subscription Book gets better reviews. Maybe I wasn't handling the magazine correctly?

Kelbian Noel | 7 comments Hi! I'm new to the group and glad to find it on here. I found it after a google search for AA Paramormal. My book Elemental was just released last week for Kindle. I'm looking for honest reviews for Goodreads & Amazon. It's a YA urban fantasy which I guess I would describe as IR. The main character is biracial (AA and NA). For reviews I can provide an epub version to anyone interested. More info is available on my Author Page. I'm posting with my Android but I'll post the link later!

This is a great group. Can't wait to get connected. Would love to add more titles to my Listmania! list too (for AA paranormal/sci-fi/fantasy)

Many of my titles are tongue-in-cheek. I leave it to the reader to decipher the hidden meanings.

Series: Angels/Demons
Betrayal Punishment

Blood suckers
Night Reins (The Minoan Reins, #1)

Shifters
Chocolate Temptation Chocolate Damsel

Undead

I'm glad you asked me that question Deva... The Lindsey 500 Vegamatic chops and slices faster than any other food processor on the market but you won't find the Lindsey 500 Vegamatic in the shops...

Sorry, sorry, couldn't resist.

I am a writing a series based around the adventures of a London police officer called Peter Grant - the reason why I mention it on this list is because he's mixed race. The first book in the series is called Midnight Riot (Peter Grant, #1) by Ben Aaronovitch in the US and Rivers of London (Peter Grant, #1) by Ben Aaronovitch in the UK. The second and third books are Moon Over Soho (Peter Grant, #2) by Ben Aaronovitch and Whispers Under Ground (Peter Grant, #3) by Ben Aaronovitch respectively. I'm working on a fourth book now and I'm contracted to write two more after that. I intend to keep writing them until they stop selling, I run out of ideas or die - which ever comes first.

It's a paranormal romance BW/WM, set in current Chicago, but has a historical aspect that dates all the way back to the Haitian revolution, the sex scenes sizzle but they are tastefully done, and if anyone loves vampires, like I do, then you will love this book. It will be available on Amazon on the 25th,but until then you can read the first chapter on my website: www.rtezak.com

message 38: by LaVerne (new)

LaVerne (lavernethompson) | 5 comments lol Deva not all of them are erotic. My work tends to be more sensual than erotic. Descriptive rather than graphic sex scenes.

But some have erotic elements, Day In The Sun my sci/fi about a female from an alien world running from an arranged marriage and her betrothed followed her across the universe is erotic. Living On The Edge about a female bounty hunter who's part lion shifter is also erotic as well as violent. But Tatianna a fantasy romance is vanilla sweet. My latest Dragon's Heart is sensual rather than erotic. But on a heat scale from 1-5 most of my paranormal/fantasy work is a 3. So you should be fine.

message 39: by R. (new)

R. Tezak | 6 comments Just in case: My book has sex scenes but the scenes are not graphic or gratuitous, and they are within a committed loving relationship. They may be slightly erotic but definitely not erotica :)

Hi everyone! :) My name is Guinevere Thomas, and I am publishing a YA Urban Fantasy book with my co-author Libertad Araceli. I see this post is rather dated, but hopefully a new post will bring it to life again.

It will be titled "The Mark of Noba." It is written with the intention on it becoming a series. It centers around a 17 year old teen named Sterling Wayfairer. Through a unique birthmark Sterling discovers he and an extraordinary classmate, Tetra, are spiritually linked and are from a foreign land called Noba where it's inhabitants are able to manipulate time and travel to other worlds. All worlds(including Earth) border each other, and with their abilities they are able to unlock doors to these places.

Im ashamed to admit, when it comes to race, my co-author and I always attempt to find a loophole around calling a character white or black. But Sterling is Type II in his world, but he's a white boy. Tetra in his world is Type V, which basically makes her a black female. It's a tiny bit Sci-fi, but it's more fantasy than science, so I prefer to consider it Urban Fantasy. So it is IR, and technically the leading lady is AA, but she's not from Earth.

Not Erotica :)

I wrote Night at the Demontorium (Series 1) by Naima Haviland and Bloodroom by Naima Haviland , which are not IR. However, The Bad Death, my historic vampire slayer novel with a black heroine and an interracial romance subplot is slated for publication late summer. I'm looking for beta-readers to give feedback before it goes to the editor. I'm not sure where to post that in this group's threads, but I'll try to find an appropriate place or start a new thread.

Billy London | 5 comments Hi! I've been lurking for ages because I'm a wimp and I get easily distracted then people ask me why I haven't been writing.

But I have done a paranormal - at last. It's inspired by Mary Shelley's Frankenstein called Shibah's Monster. It's interracial Black African Woman with a White Polish Male. It's loopy, it's a little bit sexy and I amused myself greatly writing it.
