Wow, I hope the rest of them are easy reads too. I want to get my answers! Thanks Shameless Hussy for the info.

message 452: by Tiffanny (new)

Tiffanny I just finished Dragon Bound (Elder Races, #1) by Thea Harrison and I really liked it. I am looking forward to reading the others in the series now =)

message 453: by Christine (new)

Christine | 955 comments I finished another pick Lover Reborn (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #10) by J.R. Ward and my love-hate relationship with J.R. Ward continues. Despite all the things that drive me crazy about this series, she always manages to suck me in.

Next up, I think, is our buddy read of Masques (Sianim, #1) by Patricia Briggs

hi,
I'm really sorry, I've been very busy and i haven't been able to get my hands on the books i chose.
the only one i have is vampire academy which I'm reading currently.
i was hoping if you would chose another book for buddy reading.
I'm really sorry for the inconveniences.

Nancy H | 1111 comments Macwolf01 (Elise),
I started Virals today for our Buddy Read and it is so much better than I was expecting. Do you want to set up a thread for our Buddy Read for it, or should I?

message 456: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) Finished The Darkest Whisper (Lords of the Underworld, #4) by Gena Showalter and loved it. Sabin didn't make a good impression on me in the earlier books but he turns out to be an incredible hero. My favorite in the series so far.

message 457: by Lady Allison (new)

Lady Allison | 118 comments Ana, what did you think of About That Night (FBI / US Attorney, #3) by Julie James ? I loved it. I've sort of been "meh" about her books so far but this one really pulled me in & entertained me! I stayed up later than I should have last night just to finish it :) Thanks for the buddy read!

Jojo | 1010 comments Hi Coffeentea,
I read 2 recs this weekend (updating both as just got home from an Easter break)
the first was Copper Beach – as always I really enjoyed the book. I love reading JAK’s book they may not always be the most complicated or thought provoking but I always have a bit of a smile on my face when I reading them – they’re light and fun. Saying that I do feel as though a break from the Arcane Society would be nice.
Copper Beach (Dark Legacy, #1) by Jayne Ann Krentz
The Second was Spying in High Heels. I've had this for a few months as it was a freebie on kindle and I'm now going to have to read the others - it was such a good fun read just whats needed on a weekend away with the kids when you're trying to pretend that you're relaxing.
Spying in High Heels (A High Heels Mystery, #1) by Gemma Halliday

Megan L Harnett | 806 comments I just finished Visions of Heat (Psy-Changeling, #2) by Nalini Singh . It was a good story! I like this series a lot.

Megan

Kami (aidansmama) | 988 comments I finished Masques, my buddy read with Christine. It was okay and I gave it three stars. I have three more books I would like to read for this challenge. Eternal Rider by Larissa Ione, A touch Mortal by Leah Clifford and Hex Hall my buddy read with Lady Jaye.

Go ahead and set it up, let me know where to find it. Getting going now, crashed early last night.

message 462: by Erin (new)

Erin (erin-b) Nici, I finished Primal Bonds (Shifters Unbound, #2) by Jennifer Ashley on Friday and loved it. Thanks for the recommendation. Now I'll have to get my hands on book 3.

message 463: by Amanda (new)

Hey, Kami. I haven't gotten very far in Masques yet, and I admit I'm having a hard time getting into it. I'm really glad I read her Mercy Thompson and Alpha & Omega series before reading this. The writing is nothing like what I'm used to from Patricia Briggs.

Glad to hear positive reviews. I liked the first book and the novella I read last month as well. Good stuff.

I set up the Buddy Read for us. Here is the link: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/8....

This book is much better than I was thinking it would be.

message 467: by D.G. (last edited Apr 10, 2012 07:36AM) (new)

D.G. | 4477 comments Valerie - I finished Hammered. As usual, I enjoyed the series - it's full of action and humor. Had some quibbles overall but still enjoyed it.

Thanks for the impetus to read it! Now I'm ready for when "Tricked" comes out at the end of this month!

It's a shame you didn't really like it, I will be able to do Wings as a buddy read soon, I'll let you know when if you want to start before me that's fine.

message 469: by Penney (new)

Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments Nici, I'm sorry this took so long, I was exhausted when I returned yesterday. If you're still interested I've set up a thread for our Buddy Read of Lover Reborn.

Lover Reborn Buddy Read

message 470: by ~Megan~ (new)

~Megan~ (megadee) I finished my read for the month, and ended up going with A Perfect Darkness (Offspring, #1) by Jaime Rush . Really enjoyed it! Thanks for the recs, Carolyn!

message 471: by Penney (new)

Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments Oops, I forgot to mention that I finished one of the recs this month. How to Knit a Wild Bikini (Malibu and Ewe #1) by Christie Ridgway was a cute read although it wasn't as funny as the cover would suggest and the heroine was a bit annoying. Other than that, it was a solid 3 star read for me. Thanks for the push Polina :)

message 472: by Jojo (new)

Jojo | 1010 comments Hi Coffeentea

I just finished one of the recs from your shelf Cold Sight, it was very good and I think I might look up the others that follow it - this is the problem with this challenge my to-read never gets any shorter.

Thanks for the recs

message 473: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments @Penney - i've noticed that CR books tend to have really funny names, but that they never really seem to live up to the title - I read The Care and Feeding of Unmarried Men and it was ehhh...

Skandia (sfgirl) | 972 comments Hi Elke,
I finished one of my recs A Rogue By Any Other Name (The Rules of Scoundrels, #1) by Sarah MacLean . I really liked it. This was a different kind of read for me and I find that I liked it more than I expected! Thanks for the great rec!

I forgot to mention in this thread that I also read Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins with Nancy and it was an ok read, too.

message 485: by Nancy H (new)

Nancy H | 1111 comments I finished the Buddy Read for Virals that I did with Macwolf01(Elise), and I really liked it much better than I thought I would since I am not usually into science fiction. I will probably read the sequel.

One of the things I love about being in this group is that I am challenged to read things I normally wouldn't pick up, and then I end up liking them and 'broadening my reading horizons', which is always good.

message 486: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1934 comments Hi Rena, I just finished my second pick from you Call Me Irresistible (Wynette, Texas #6) by Susan Elizabeth Phillips . I gave it 3.5 stars. I really enjoy Susan Elizabeth Phillips writing and her original characters and situation.

So far, great picks!

I finished Ain't Too Proud to Beg (Dog Walkers, #1) by Susan Donovan last night. My first Susan Donovan and it was a nice, enjoyable read. I think my favorite character was Genghis, the Labradoodle.

It was a great book. I've given it 4 stars 'cause I didn't like very much Rylann (it's ok if she's technical, but she was a little bit too cold), but I really really fell for Kyle...a great character. I married a blue eyed computer genius, so it seems I have a soft spot for them. :-)

message 492: by Megan L (new)

Megan L Harnett | 806 comments Just finished Rock Me (Ross Siblings, #2) by Cherrie Lynn . It was a good receommendation and I enjoyed it emennsely.

message 493: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11344 comments I finished my first pick, Dare to Believe, which was a buddy read with Laura. I had a few issues with the writing style, but overall I enjoyed the story and will eventually read the other two books in the series. Thanks for the recommendation, Laura, and for reading it with me!

message 494: by Irina (new)

Irina (reetu_416) | 504 comments I finished my second Pick Caleb + Kate by Cindy Martinusen-Coloma and i enjoyed it very much! Thanks for the great pick Nelly!

message 495: by Christine (new)

Christine | 955 comments Kami - I finally finished Masques! It was interesting to read this first work by Patricia Briggs. I'm a huge fan of her Mercy Thompson series and have been wanting to check this book out for ages. It's not nearly as good as her more recent works, but I could see occasional glimmers of her soon-to-be-developed talent. It was an interesting plot but the writing was kind of choppy to me. I would probably only recommend this to die hard Briggs fans.

message 496: by Christine (new)

Christine | 955 comments Oh, and I'm going to start one of your other recs Doubletake. I've been itching to get to this one and hopefully it will go faster so I'll have or done in time to start the JD Robb buddy read.
