I actually read the second book first, because I didn't know about the first book. I've read them all now and definitely like the second book the best. They are very hot and I like Jaci Burton's writing style. She gives her H's real male voices, they're not all sappy, but they're not assholes either. A lot of fun.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Finished Incarnation by Emma Cornwall (I started to type incarceration in the search box!) and I liked it but hope that it's book 1 of a series and we just don't know yet. The ending left too much open, even if there wasn't a cliffhanger. Definitely not a steampunk book though, no matter how it's listed. A mention of a dirigible does not make a book steampunk. Either way, I didn't mind. It was sort of gothic and dark...an old-timey urban fantasy if you will.

Steelwhisper | 38 comments I'm re-reading Junction X by Erastes Junction X.

It's one of the few true successors of The Charioteer, takes place in the 1960s and deals with the illicit love and infatuation of a middle-class family man with a teenage boy.

Incredibly well-written. Careful, this has no HEA!

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments I finished Last Wolf Standing (Blood Runners, #1) by Rhyannon Byrd and I didn't like it much. I really hoped that this would get me back into PNR again. But it just made me feel the cheesiness that PNR has been like for me lately.

Regina, I'm so glad that your hubby is getting so much better. How nice that he went a little alpha male on you...so cute!

Leea, that must have been so exciting! How are mommy & baby doing? I had a crazy dream the other night that the doctor told me I was pregnant & I was freaking out since it wasn't planned. Then my 4 year old was jumping up & down, hugging me and smiling. I woke up quick & realized it was just a dream. LOL

I read a short novella last night Prophet (Struck, #0.5) by Jennifer Bosworth and now I'm reading Struck (Struck, #1) by Jennifer Bosworth . Maybe I will finally be out of my reading rut.

message 4855: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Ah, that stinks Kay. But I know what you mean. I feel the same way, I think I will have to wait for the new BDB book for me to be impressed by PNR again.

I cancelled my pre-order for ICED. Iced A Dani O'Malley Novel (Fever World, #1) by Karen Marie Moning Just too expensive. Anyone else pre-ordering it? So who already reading Necromancing the Stone by Lish McBride

Leea, My Kind of Christmas (Virgin River, #20) by Robyn Carr is soooo good! It makes up for the last few medicore Virgin River books. ;)

Kay -- why not try to get back into Virgin River? I remember there was a contemporary romance series you really liked, one of the books had an image of a beach scene -- does that ring a bell? Do you remember it? I should have a shelf that is books loved by you guys then I could remember these things. I am in such the mood for sweet sweet romance.

message 4856: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments A book with a beach scene....is it On the Island by Tracey Garvis-Graves ? I know a few of us really liked this book and it is a sweet contemporary romance.

message 4857: by D.G. (new)

D.G. I'll probably be getting the audio for Iced, Regina. My Audible membership is coming out of hold at the end of October so I'll be using my first credit for that. I'm fine paying $15 for an audio but not for an ebook!

message 4858: by Leea (new)

Leea Hey ladies!! Mommy and baby are doing great! Thanks for asking.

I finished Creed (Unfinished Hero, #2) by Kristen Ashley I liked it but it was very vanilla for Erotica. I was just expecting something a little darker. The characters we're amazing and their story was heartbreaking. Not sure what i'm going to write as my review?

I think up next will be the rest of the Virgin River books so I can get to the arc of My Kind of Christmas :) Kay, what VR book are you stuck at? We could read them together :)

message 4859: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Leea, you are way past me in VR. I need to pick up #4. It will be awhile until I catch up.

message 4860: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Kay, it was one only you were reading -- it had a picture of a chair on a beach - and I think was sort of a reunion of old loves book. Sorry, I suck for not remembering. :)

message 4861: by Leea (new)

Leea Hahaha!! Yeah, i'm up to book 17 so that's quite a gap.

Leaving tomorrow for a night away in Napa, my husband is working with his boss and i'll be by myself during the day (yay reading and more reading with lots of win :) and then i'm going with this while he takes clients to dinner. It's been a long time since i've had to entertain his clients, hope I haven't lost my people skills. I'm so excited!! Now I just need to find something to wears - ugh!

message 4862: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I found it!! One Reckless Summer (Destiny, #1) by Toni Blake

message 4863: by Leea (new)

Leea Oh yeah, I have that book. It was good.

message 4864: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I just saw your review. For some reason I forgot I could just look at Kay's shelves. LOL. It is more of what I need. I took off work this afternoon ad hid in my basement guest room just reading Virgin River. It was nice. :) Now off to a PTO meeting! LOL

LMAO, me too. I should see if my library is getting it. I have 2 credits to spend before 9/28 and then I want to cancel my audible account. I find it so hard to buy stuff.

Leea Regina wrote: "I just saw your review. For some reason I forgot I could just look at Kay's shelves. LOL. It is more of what I need. I took off work this afternoon ad hid in my basement guest room just readin..."

I just skipped out on a PTA meeting... hahahaha!! They didn't need me. but now i'm feeling bad.

message 4867: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Oh yeah...that is a good book. I really liked that one, Regina and I hope you enjoy it. Unfortunately, the latest book of that series wasn't so good.

Leea, have fun in Napa!! If you get a chance, check out http://www.castellodiamorosa.com/ a fun little spot to do some wine tasting paired with chocolate.

message 4868: by Leea (new)

Leea I will, thank you! Mmm wine and chocolate that's amazing. I haven't been to Napa in such a long time.

I was going to ask you about the newest Toni Black, Destiny book. Well if it's not that good then i'll skip it. Reckless Summer has some hot sexy scenes. The one in the woods - hot!!

message 4869: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments yes, the woods....HOT!! I had to fan myself! Ha! I would skip that latest Destiny book. I was really disappointed with the hero being such an ass and the heroine allowing him to be one. It was not my favorite of the series.

message 4870: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Oh! Should I read that before I read Flat Out Love and/or Julie James?

message 4871: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments You might like Julie James bc some of her books are lawyer related but sex is limited in her earlier books. My preference is Julie James, Toni Blake then Flat Out Love (although Park is one of BBAs). Each one is different though. Toni Blake is small town romance, James is lawyer related or FBI mystery-ish romance, Park is cute YA romance...so it'll depend on your mood.

message 4872: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 337 comments I agree with Julie James. Love her books!

message 4873: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Thanks ladies. That helps alot. :)

message 4874: by Leea (new)

Leea I still haven't read Julie James books, I have most of them but I still haven't read them. Haha! I think i'll stick with Virgin River for my trip :)

message 4875: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 337 comments I don't know what's gotten into to me, but right at this moment, I really want to read an erotica with hot, hot, steamy sex. Maybe it's because I'm studying for my nursing class...

message 4876: by Leea (new)

Leea Do it!!! Hehehe!

message 4877: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 337 comments Haha, I want to so bad but the only erotica I think I have is Mona Lisa Awakening (Monère Children of the Moon, #1) by Sunny !

message 4878: by Leea (new)

Leea Oh, I read that. It's different, talk about animal magnetism hahaha!!

message 4879: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 337 comments Leea - What's your favorite erotica?

message 4880: by Leea (new)

Leea Damaged Goods by Lauren Gallagher and Hearts in Darkness by Laura Kaye are both a few of my favorites. If you want something darker, I love the darker erotica books like Comfort Food by Kitty Thomas

Hope that helps...

message 4881: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Also Willing Victim by Cara McKenna

message 4882: by Leea (new)

Leea Yes! I was going to put that book as well.

message 4883: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I finished My Kind of Christmas (Virgin River, #20) by Robyn Carr and it was so good. :D

I am listening to
The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry by Rachel Joyce and it is really god. It is for my book club tomorrow night, which is thankfully at my neighbor's house so I can drink too much. I am finishing up the audio of Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell which is also really good, I just had stopped reading or listening due to life but I am getting back on track.

I am reading Four Secrets by Margaret Willey for a publisher and it is really good. I plan on having my 13 year old read it too.

When I am done with that I plan on reading One Reckless Summer (Destiny, #1) by Toni Blake

message 4884: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I would say Damaged Goods is the hottest in terms of lots of good sex scenes. :)

message 4885: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Here's a few eroticas that I liked....
The Unidentified Redhead (Redhead, #1) by Alice Clayton humorous erotica
Backstage Pass (Sinners on Tour #1) by Olivia Cunning ...yummy rockstars
Eternity and a Day (Desires of the Otherworld, #1) by Aline Hunter and Omega Mine (Alpha and Omega Series, #1) by Aline Hunter paranormal erotica
Rough Riders series by Lorelei James....some cowboy lovin!

message 4886: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Yay Regina...I'm glad you're having more time to read now!

message 4887: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Thanks Kay. :) I started One Reckless Summer last night and loved the prologue. I have a lot to look forward to.

message 4888: by Leea (new)

Leea I didn't know the indent odors redhead was erotica. That's a great one!

I'm so glad you're back to reading more. How exciting!

We're off to Napa!

message 4889: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) And the books that caught me and brought me back in are due to you ladies.

indent odors....This had me rolling!!! Auto Correct??

Have a good drive to Napa! Maybe tweet a photo or 2 when you're there?

message 4892: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Oh great idea! I wish you could tweet us some wine. :)

Regina (reginar) Leea wrote: "I can't wait to hear what you tho k of one reckless summer. It's HOT!!"

I loved the beginning. Took me right back to high school except I always liked bad boys! They never scared me away.

message 4894: by Leea (new)

Leea You know I will. I was trying to figure out how to go wine tasting without driving. Haha! Might just read and drink wine by myself. Yay!

message 4895: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Regina wrote: "And the books that caught me and brought me back in are due to you ladies."

I'm so glad we could help!!

I really hope you like One Reckless Summer. It's a fun read and I like the author's writing style. I devoured all her books within a few days when I discovered her. She also writes erotica under Lacey Alexander but I haven't read any of those books yet.

message 4896: by Leea (new)

Leea Haha!! Damn auto correct. Gets me all the time.

message 4897: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Oh good to know, thanks!

message 4898: by Leea (new)

Leea We may have found an author to busy read, Kay!! I've looked at a few of Lacey Alexander.

message 4899: by Kay (new)

We'll have to plan to read one together!

message 4900: by D.G. (new)

D.G. Have fun in Napa, Leea!

I'm in a super reading funk...nothing seem to grab my interest.

But this week I started to control what I eat - not dieting...just making sure that I'm not gorging myself like I was doing previously. I also started some exercise at home.

I'm also starting a job search and that always gets me antsy...I think that's why I can't read.
