I hope so. Otherwise, I am writing a strongly worded letter to KA.

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments I've been so out of reading lately and the weekend was so busy for me. I'm still working on Somebody To Love by Kristan Higgins and I picked up A Girl Like You by Maria Geraci from the library. I'm also listening to Just Listen by Sarah Dessen . I don't usually read/listen to several book of the same genre at a time but so far it's not so bad and I'm not confused. LOL

message 4703: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Hi Kay, sounds like you and I are in a similar place. Not being confused is a good thing, lol. :)

message 4704: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments Playing to Win (Play by Play, #4) by Jaci Burton came out last week ladies. I totally forgot about it. I am all over this one this week.

message 4705: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Hi Regina. yeah...it's just been 'blah' lately in books for me. How are you doing? How's the hubby doing? Is it better now that the kids are in school?

message 4706: by Kay (new)

I do love the covers for this series.

message 4707: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments So do I Kay, so do I. But I also like the series itself. They are very entertaining and HOT!

message 4708: by Leea (new)

Leea Those covers are flippin' fantastic. Makes me want to watch some football or just stare at some players :)

Hope everyone is having a great Tuesday morning.

Regina, are the kids back at school? Hope things are going better for you.

Okay... books :)
I finished The Unidentified Redhead (Redhead, #1) by Alice Clayton and it was fantastically funny and honest. Just what I needed. Now I need to sit down and write a review...

Up next, is more contemporary romance. For You (The 'Burg, #1) by Kristen Ashley I hear this series is darker with more of a mystery so i'm excited to see how this one goes.

message 4709: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments I am excited for our group read Leea. I am going to start it tonight after I watch The Voice. Need my Adam Levine fix. LOL!

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) Marcella wrote: "I am excited for our group read Leea. I am going to start it tonight after I watch The Voice. Need my Adam Levine fix. LOL!"

Was anyone else wondering in their opening number last night if Adam and Xtina had slept together? Because they seemed mighty cosy, bodywise. Or is that just me?

message 4711: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments I think that may be just because I refuse to believe that he ever slept with that. Just yuk!

I know they have done a song together so maybe they are buddies. That is my story and I am sticking to it.

message 4712: by Leea (new)

Leea Xtina trips me out. Haha! I'm going to have to agree with Marcella, it's better if we don't know.

Tellulah, I didn't watch The Voice last night. Maybe the just have good chemistry.

What trips me out about her is her fake tan. That is wrong. It doesn't look good. It is a bit much for me.

She is a beautiful girl but not most of the time. And definitely not last night.

Patricia Andrews-Prideaux (turquoisetricia315) | 28 comments who's Xtina?

message 4716: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Sep 11, 2012 01:18PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) It's Christina Aguilera, who's one of the people on The Voice. I'm not big into singing shows, so I've only caught bits and pieces of episodes here and there. It seems to be one people like though.

message 4717: by Patricia (new)

Patricia Andrews-Prideaux (turquoisetricia315) | 28 comments Oh, ok. I know who Christina Aguilera is. I had never heard her referred to as Xtina before. LOL! I have never even heard of The Voice. I am probably too old to like the music on there. LOL!

message 4718: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Sep 11, 2012 01:19PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I had to fix my post. I turned Christina into a man by making her Christian!

Hmmmm...Freudian slip? What you been reading this summer Stacia? ;)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Not anything like that but maybe I should look into expanding my reading interests!

message 4721: by Patricia (new)

Patricia Andrews-Prideaux (turquoisetricia315) | 28 comments I noticed that, Stacia, but I decided to be polite and not say anything. LOL! ;)

message 4722: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 337 comments I'm halfway through The Iron Duke (Iron Seas, #1) by Meljean Brook and WOW. There are some hot, steamy scenes in here! I'm really enjoying it.

message 4723: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Courtney I agree! That book surprised me with how really good the steam was. :)

message 4724: by Marcella (last edited Sep 11, 2012 03:36PM) (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments You ladies are funny.

Amazon sent me an email reminding me of Rapture, the lastest book from J.R. Ward from the Fallen Angels series is coming out later this month. The cost is fricking ridiculous. The Kindle edition is $14.99 and the hardcover is almost $17.00. The stupid paperback isn't coming out until March of next year. I am sick of the costs of her books being so high. I have not encountered this with any other author on GR.

message 4725: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Me too. Especially since this series started out in paperbook and was very low cost in the beginning, I believe the first two were 7.99? I have been on the waitlist for this book at the library for a few months. I ain't buying it!

message 4726: by Leea (new)

Leea That's crazy... $17 yikes!

The Iron Duke brought the steam for sure. I wasn't prepared for how hot that book was.

The paperback is about $7.99 but it won't be out for several months, which I think is the dumbest thing I have ever seen. I want to read it badly but I am not paying that much for the hardcover.

Ooh I have had my eye on that book for a while. Good to know it is steamy!

message 4729: by Leea (new)

Leea Marcella did you start, For You (The 'Burg, #1) by Kristen Ashley ? I'm 2 chapters in and I like it. It's darker than her other books.

message 4730: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments Leea wrote: "Marcella did you start, Just for You (Little Critter) by Mercer Mayer? I'm 2 chapters in and I like it. It's darker than her other books."

I have not started it yet. I will tonight when I get home from work. I am really into Sweet Dreams. Who the eff is the serial killer/rapist? Damn it I need to know.

message 4731: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) OMG that is thw WORST/FUNNIEST cover switch ever!! LMAO!!

message 4732: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Okay, I love this theme -- reunited, bad times in their past. Leea, let me know if you think I would like this one or if the male character is not for me.

message 4733: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments Ha ha I just noticed what it was. LMAO!

Why don't you join us in the read?

message 4735: by Leea (new)

Leea LMAO!! That's the craziest cover malfunction in GR history. How did they come up with that?

Yeah, this one is darker but the main character, Colt seems pretty Alpha. I'll let you know, Regina.

message 4736: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 337 comments Omg!! Haha, I've seen that cover before!

message 4737: by Leea (new)

Leea I figured that you ladies might know of a good site that lists the books released today (or TBR the coming week)?

message 4738: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I use www.fictfact.com, but it is only about series. Sometimes publishers websites have them? But that is all I got. ;) Oh Amazon has a list don't they?

We love those books for our kids. ;)

Marcella I would love to but I don't get along with Kirsten Ashley's men. They are a little bit too much for me. :)

message 4739: by Leea (last edited Sep 11, 2012 04:48PM) (new)

Leea Hahaha! I totally understand Regina :)

Thanks, I was kind of looking for a site that had all the books released by date. Hmm, maybe it doesn't exist.

message 4740: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments I understand Regina. They sometimes are a little too much for me too.

message 4741: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Maybe you could start one Leea? :D

I like strong assertive and opinated men, but I just want to decide what I do, eat and when I sleep -- I don't like to be told that. So I get bothered by the daddy type behavior. LOL. I do like her style of writing, so I was disappointed to be bothered by that in that first of the mountain man series. So I am always trying to see if I would like another one of her books.

message 4742: by Leea (new)

Leea Hahaha! When you put it like that it does sound ridiculous. I don't like controlling men in my life, my dad was super demanding. Not sure why I like to read it.

You might like For You, there is so much more depth to the story but there is also this underline tension between Colt and February because something happened in their past and they have yet to reveal it.

Colt just started to get kind of Alpha... Once i'm done i'll let you know. I have to say that the depth of writing has improved. Not sure if it's the content or her writing has improved.

message 4744: by Patricia (new)
