Thanks. I just finished

The Divide started off so well but the plot did get quite slow halfway through the book. I did wish it would speed up at times but the story did remain strangely engaging. The last 60 or 70 pages of the novel were just as gripping and compelling as the first half of the novel. To tell the truth, I enjoyed the family drama sub-plot a lot more than I liked the murder mystery plot but I think that was probably because I didn't like the character of Abbie all that much so I found it hard to care about what happened to her. I loved all the vivid and wonderful descriptions of the Montana setting and landscape that made me feel like I was actually there. Nicholas Evans has got a great writing style and I love his use of language and imagery. I gave this novel 3½ stars!

I love all the regular Stephanie Plum novels but I'm not sure I like these between the numbers novellas. I was very disappointed by Plum Lovin'. Nothing much happened in it and it was extremely dull and boring. It wasn't anywhere near as funny as the regular novels do be and I really hate the supernatural element in the novella. I gave it 1½ stars!

Now I'm a few chapters into

I am actually not reading anything right now. I need to do valentines with the kids and we are having such a crazy busy weekend. I need to look at my arc list to see what book is up next.

Leea, where did you leave off?

I liked the first one a lot more which seemed to be grittier than the 2nd. Also, I felt like there were too many characters to keep track of in the 2nd book also. I can't remember if that was the case in book one. Overall, it was a decent UF but it didn't blow me away.

Just a few chapters into it. I may skip Hunting Ground like we talked about and move onto Fair Game.
In fact Kay, let me know when you want to read it and I may join you.

If you ever end up reading book 2, you'll have to let me know what you thought. I've only read the first but wasn't sure if I'd continue.

Hey Stacia, I will!

I'm in such a slump right now... I have not motivation to read and there is so much to do around my house. I hate this feeling, like it's all pilling on me and I don't have time to read which is my little thing I give myself. We've got basketball starting and just got a call from my older sons baseball coach, who's suposed to be amazing but they practice a lot. My husband is coaching Garrett's Tball team because he does not want anyone to no be able to understand him and give him a hard time. I'm glad but it means 2 kids, 2 different practices and 2 different game schedule. lol! So, more shuffling kids around. In the last week, we've added 5 events to our weekly schedule. Sorry, that turned into a rant...
Stacia, Sins and Needles looks so good. I can't wait to hear what you think and read it myself. You'll have to read Bank's other Highlander books, they're all good. I almost think the first series is better.

In fact Kay, let me know when you want to read it and I may join you."
Hey Leea...I just started Hunting Ground and I have to read 2 more Mercy books. So, I'm thinking next week or the week after Fair Game. I'll touch base with you before I do to see how your mood is.
So far, I'm loving the dynamic between Charles and Anna in Hunting Ground. I forgot how opposite they are from one another but yet they balance each other out as well.
Regina...can you remind me about Cry Wolf (view spoiler)

Reading slumps are the worst. I totally feel you there as I have several of those in a month. LOL

Yes, i'd love to join you next week Kay. Let me know when you want to read it. Thanks!

Thanks, Regina! That helps. I read the short story about 3 years ago...maybe I should skim through it again. I seem to have bad memory sometimes. I think b/c I read so much and everything just blends or blur together after awhile. LOL

i'll start

I really enjoyed this book. Unfortunately, I haven't read any further into the series.

I just finished

Now I want to dive back into

I'm also searching for my next Urban Fantasy series to read, any suggestions?

You have inspired me, I am doing a reread of Fair Game by listening to it.

Oh yay...I'm glad b/c I would like to dive into more of Mercy and Adam's relationship.
Enjoy listening to A & O...I really like these two and how they balance one another.

You've read most of the UFs I've read. I will suggest

What did you think of book 2, Kay?

Kay, since u really enjoyed Hunting Ground u'll love

What did you think of book 2, Kay?"
I liked book 1 better b/c it was grittier to me. Also, there were so many POVs in book 2 where it was hard for me to connect to the characters like I did in 1. It was still fun revisiting that world though. Some things happen in 2 where I can see how the different characters will fit into future books.

Thanks, Domino! I'm looking forward to it. I still have to read

I do have a question because it's been so long since I read Cry Wolf (view spoiler) ["br"]>["br"]>

Let me know when you read Shadow Reader #2. I will make sure to get to it so we can discuss!

I'm not sure exactly when I'm read the second McKenzie Lewis book yet, but I'll let you know. I just know that it will be sometime in March.

Just let me know a few days before you start McKenzie and I'll squeeze it in. I really liked book #1 and I hope the 2nd one is just as good.

Leea, (view spoiler) ["br"]>["br"]>

I say inadvertently because I opened it just to see if I'd like the writing style and ended up reading the whole thing.
