Leea I can't wait to read Leave me Breathless, it's been such a long time since Rock Me.

message 5652: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I hope you love mr real. It is definitely pnr. But pnr that held my interest.

message 5653: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I finished Branded as Trouble (Rough Riders, #6) by Lorelei James and it was okay. I got my cowboy fix and need a break. It is funny bc I found myself skimming the sex scenes. Which is likely not what I was supposed to do while reading erotica.

message 5654: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Hey ladies. I am traveling for the next few day for work and then next week again for work. It is not fun stuff I will be doing spin so I know I will want a light easy read or three or four of them. Any suggestions?

message 5655: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (jenndiaz16) | 8 comments I read this weekend The Proposition and Disastrous loved them book and highly recommend both!!! be warned they are book series that have the 2nd book to be released next year.... Its worth the read though!!!

Have you finished Virgin River? Or continue with Toni Blake's Destiny series. I find Historical Romance to be pretty light most of the time. Maybe pick up a Kleypas book you haven't read yet...like The Gamblers. Or a book by Julia Quinn. Or how about an YA? What mood are you in?

Kay has some great suggestions as usual :). What about Leave Me Breathless. Nothing like a light erotica when you travel :)

I know it's easier to read HR when I travel for some reason. They're usually light, fun and seems to take you away. Let me know what you pick.

message 5659: by Leea (new)

Leea Also, I'm finally hooked on Mercenaries... It's not that I wasn't into it before but dang this book tears you apart. I think the reason it took me so long to read it was because of the subject matter and how topsy turvey this book can be. Sorry ladies, I was guarding my heart. The transformation from Dan in book 1 and the Dan today is amazing. All you can wish for him is to be as peace with who he is. Crap I'm going to cry, this story just is so close to my heart.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Just finishedc The Walking Dead, Issue #1 by Robert Kirkman . Wanted to see how different the comic was from the show. Rick sure cried a lot!

message 5661: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Lmao!

message 5662: by Leea (last edited Nov 13, 2012 04:21PM) (new)

Leea Hahahaha!! Now that I can't see after Sundays episode - Hello!!

We haven't talked Walking dead is a long time :)

message 5663: by Aoibhínn (new)

Aoibhínn (aoibhinn) I've finished reading The Secret Keeper by Kate Morton by Kate Morton today. I thought it was beautifully written with just enough twists and turns to keep the reader interested. It was obviously very well researched - I loved the WW2 bits. Those scenes were so vivid that I felt I was actually there! I found the pace of the novel, especially in the first half, to be rather slow. I thought the author spent too much time describing the various settings in the novel. It got really tiresome in places but the pace does pick up again in the second half. I loved the ending! The twist at the end completely surprised me. I wasn't expecting that! I'm usually quite good at predicting what's going to happen next in novels but that twist was a huge surprise!

I thought Like Dandelion Dust was so good. It was an emotional ride, for sure!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Finished Pandemonium (Delirium, #2) by Lauren Oliver and I still like book 1 better, but this one had some good parts and more action/rebellion.

message 5670: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments I haven't picked up a book in two days. I can't seem to decide what to read. However, I'm still listening to Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn which I am enjoying.

message 5671: by Leea (new)

Leea Oh, I really want to read that Kay. Can't wait for your review. Ugh, reading funk - those suck. Wanna read something with me :)

Changed my mind... you that happens a lot. Decided to read Something About You (FBI / US Attorney, #1) by Julie James with Laura :) So far, it's fun and light. Just what I need after Merc.

message 5672: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Julie James is always fun to read. I blew through her books too fast.

For some reason, I've had a ton of reading funks this year. This wasn't a problem for me before. I just hope this passes soon.

Did you all see Susan Ee's posts? Angelfall will be made into a movie and book 2 will be out in the fall of 2013. At least there's a date now but not early enough for my tastes.

message 5673: by Leea (new)

Leea I know, i'm so excited!! It's going to make for an amazing movie. So many great books to movies coming out. I'm looking forward to The Bronze Horseman and Outlander (Mini series) Yay!

I think i'll have to reread before the movie and book 2.

Great news about Ms. James books - this is my first.

message 5674: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Oh yay...I didn't TBH will be a movie. That's exciting.

I'm definitely planning on re-reading Angelfall right before book 2 comes out.

message 5676: by Luciana (new)

Luciana Cavallaro (goodreadscomluc) | 3 comments Hi all, I'm currently reading Invisible Romans by Robert Knapp. It is a non-fiction book but a fascinating look at the forgotten Romans: prostitutes, the poor, immigrants, slaves, soldiers, and gladiators. Included are excerpts from steles and ancient writers. Worth reading if you want a little insight in the real Roman world. Plus gives great background if you read stories about Ancient Rome.

message 5677: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments That sounds like a very interesting book Luc. I love ancient Rome.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Yes, I was happy about the TMI trailer. It turned out better than I was originally expecting. Can't wait for the movie now.

VERY VERY EXCITED about the Angelfall news because that is one of my all time favorite books. It's going to be an awesome movie!

And speaking of Angelfall. Any fans of that book need to read this one. I just finished it and it is almost as awesome as Angelfall...a little more romancey/pnr, but still has kick ass angel guys and some action!
Shadows (The Rephaim, #1) by Paula Weston

message 5679: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments I am undecided on how I feel about TMI trailer.

message 5680: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Nov 14, 2012 11:39PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I'm still not convinced of Jamie as Jace, and I hated the fight scene styling (high heeled boots for fighting is way too glam for what those girls are doing). However, I thought everything was going to look cheesy by all of the initial pics I saw, and the trailer has it looking a little more dark than I'd thought it would look, so I'm happier now.

message 5681: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments I too am skeptical about Jaime as Jace. Thought they would have made him more attractive in the movie since the book describes him as beyond gorgeous. And was it me or did Lily Collins look unattractively thin?

I wasn't surprised about the fighting in heels. From what I remember it was a normal thing for Izzy.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) For Izzy I would have bought it, but Clary was sort of clumsy and awkward.

message 5683: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments Huh I didn't notice that. I must have missed it. There was a lot going on in the trailer.

ooh, an Outlander Miniseries. i'll have to check that out. i'd love to see who they pick for the characters.

message 5685: by Domino (aka Meme) (new)

Domino (aka Meme) (bryghtstarr) | 231 comments started listening to In Bed with a Highlander (McCabe Trilogy, #1) by Maya Banks . it's pretty good. i really enjoy the narrator's scottish accent. she should've done the outlander series. i couldn't get into that narrator, thus stuck with reading the books instead of listening.

message 5686: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Stacia (Ace of Skates) wrote: "For Izzy I would have bought it, but Clary was sort of clumsy and awkward."

Absolutely Clary in heels is not correct. Clary wore tennis shoes. Or boots, of the non-heeled variety.

The trailer looks better than I expected. And for me, Jamie bothers me less than the chick playing Clary. Clary was supposed to be kind of awkward looking. And maybe Jamie isn't as good looking as Jace was described, for me if he can pull off the personality that alone will make him hotter.

message 5687: by Krissy (new)

Krissy (krissystewart) Just purchased an ebook short story. I love reading novellas since I can usually start and finish it during the kiddos naptime. The Lady in the Tower by Karen Hawkins

I really like this series. I still have to read the 3rd book.

message 5692: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 337 comments Ha! You know what's funny, Marcella? I read the third and first, but not the second one. I didn't know they were connected.

message 5693: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments That is funny Courtney. How as the 3rd one?

message 5694: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 337 comments In my opinion, not as good as the first, but still pretty good. I just loved how strong and capable the hero was in the first since he's an agent. I don't know if I want to read the second one now that I got a glimpse of both the characters. I'd like to read the 4th one though ;)

message 5695: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 337 comments Finished Reign of Shadows (The Ruby Throne Trilogy, #1) by Deborah Chester which was not bad! I quite enjoyed it. I just wish the hero and the heroine met. So no romance in this one but probably in the second book. It's written like your typical adventure fantasy which I love. It even has some gladiator scenes which are very unexpected in a fantasy book.

Now I'm going to start Dark Descendant (Nikki Glass, #1) by Jenna Black . I hope it's as good as I think it is.

message 5696: by Marcella (new)

Well I loved Kyle in the 2nd book and was glad he was getting his own book. He seemed like such a character. Glad there is a 4th one. Going on my TBR list. Thanks!

message 5697: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 337 comments Was Kyle mentioned in the first? Because I do not remember him at all!

message 5698: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments No he introduced in the second book.
