Leea Outlander is my favorite series, I hope you enjoy it!

message 4252: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments I haven't had the energy to try and read this series. I can't make the commitment on this one.

message 4253: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 337 comments Yay, can't wait to continue with the series! I hate the cover of the second book, though.

message 4254: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Annette, It's my favorite book ever. But it's a tough series. Not everyone loves it.

message 4255: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Leea I can't wait to see what you think about Grimspace! I am reading the conclusion to the series next -- the arc I got is literally a copy - like a xerox copy bound together at like kinkos, lol.

I just finished Rot & Ruin (Benny Imura, #1) by Jonathan Maberry and I freaking loved it -- one of the better YA books and post apoc and zombie books EVER. I love Tom. :D Thank you Wendy for recommending this book.

I am sorry I am MIA> I feel like my life will never get back on track. Busy at work, I was suckered into coordinating 1st and 2nd grade boys soccer so I am in the procedss of assembling 36 soccer teams and trying to keep the coaches happy. Not fun.

message 4256: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I am so glad you loved it Regina! It was amazing, right? How the book is about a Zombie Post Apocalypse but it's even more about humanity and real evil. I loved it too.

message 4257: by Kit★ (new)

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) Just started It Happened One Autumn (Wallflowers, #2) by Lisa Kleypas this evening

message 4258: by Leea (new)

Leea I need to read Rot and Ruin - Stat!!! I'll let you know, Regina what I think of Grimspace. I'm so excited! How cool to get a copy of the last book. Such a lucky lady :)

I reorganized my pantry today and it looks amazing!

message 4259: by Annette (new)

Annette Thanks for the encouragement on "Outlander".

You're such a great mom, Regina. I know it's so much work but your kids will love playing and I hope you are appreciated. How's your man doing?

How far are you into it, Annette?

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I'm overscheduled again and am juggling a few books.

Working on Onyx (Lux, #2) by Jennifer L. Armentrout and Seduction and Snacks (Chocolate Lovers #1) by Tara Sivec and will start Grimspace (Sirantha Jax, #1) by Ann Aguirre probably late tomorrow night after I finish at least one of the other two books (sorry Leea!)

message 4263: by Leea (new)

Leea No worries, I'll be busy tomorrow night but I hope to read some in the morning. I totally understand and I just can't wait to chat with all of you about this book. I'm so excited!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) And I haven't forgotten about Moreno Brothers book 2 but I might have to wait on that until September.

message 4265: by Ali (last edited Aug 16, 2012 12:48AM) (new)

Ali (aliciaadalaide) | 89 comments So, I went to my best friends for dinner tonight, On the way home, I decided to take the longer scenic way because I go rarely go out anywhere that isnt errands and I love driving my car, which was my 30th b-day present (2012 Nissan Maxima)

Anyway, I was crossing an intersection at about 45mph. A car was turning left (he claimed he didn't see me) I tried to stop but I couldn't in time and I hit him.... I have been in a few accidents before, some my fault...but this one scared me so bad... I keep thinking about that moment when I realized I was going to hit him and just.... waiting. I know it's terrible, But in that moment I was so angry because I loved my car. I loved the bucket leather seats, Bose sound system, heated seats and low profile tires (no idea what those are exactly) and I couldn't believe that jerk in his stupid POS car was destroying this one last thing I had from my old life.

It wasn't until I realized that I didn't have enough strength in my wrist to actually turn the car off that I realized, I was hurt. Although I am 5'9, I sit so close that I am almost inside the steering wheel because I tend to drive with my knee. Do not do this! I have a black eye, sprained wrist, and lacerations on both arms, chest and face. Mostly from the airbag

On a positive note, my knitting will be on a hold for awhile, I can read again :)

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) Just read Shadow and Bone (The Grisha Trilogy, #1) by Leigh Bardugo and really liked it! I hope the next one is as good.

message 4280: by Ali (new)

Ali (aliciaadalaide) | 89 comments Because You Tempt Me (Because You Are Mine, #1) by Beth Kery - gave in and read this... it was good... not sure it's worth 1.99 for 52 pages. But I liked it.

message 4281: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments So sorry about your car Ali. From the looks of it, I am glad you weren't hurt worse.

message 4282: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments That sucks, Ali :( I'm sorry about it and glad you walked away from it.

message 4283: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments I got a notice from the library that God Shaped Hole by Tiffanie DeBartolo is ready to be picked up. It turns out that they ordered it from another county library since my county didn't have it. Gotta love the library system!

I can't wait to pick it up and read it!!

Regina (reginar) Tellulah wrote: "Just read Shadow and Bone (The Grisha Trilogy, #1) by Leigh Bardugo and really liked it! I hope the next one is as good."

I keep looking at that book. I think I may be off of though.

I am slighlty bored by Gunmetal Magic. I love the parts where Andrea and Raphael or Andrea and the Bouda clan are interacting. But the mystery is really boring me. :(

I am listening to Swan Song by Robert R. McCammon and liking it so far. I just got a notice that Dust & Decay (Benny Imura, #2) by Jonathan Maberry is waiting for me at the library. Can't wait!

Ali how are your injuries today? That is one scary picture.

message 4285: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I do love that! That is great. :) I can't bring myself to read that book but I look forward to seeing how you all like it.

message 4286: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) How is Grimspace coming?

message 4287: by Kay (last edited Aug 17, 2012 10:16AM) (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Gah...so gunmetal magic not that great? I haven't gotten around to it yet.

Leah's reading Grimspace. I hope we can read #2 together if she ends up liking it. I do want to read more about Marsh. I think I haven't picked up it b/c I read the synopsis of the other books and know that something happens to him :(

message 4288: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Kay, I wonder if it is me. Stuff is still really hard for me and I am finding it hard to read. I miss being here regularly. The dynamic between Andrea and Raphael is hot and funny. But the mystery is just too dry and I just don't care - I am literally skipping over the investigation parts.

Andrea and Aunt B parts are good.

message 4289: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments I feel ya...sometimes my moods can be that way too. Then I feel I'm not doing the book justice if I rate it just okay.

I love Aunt B!

How's the hubby's recovery coming along?

Welcome Back, D.G. Can't wait to hear how the trip was.

My good friend is moving to Orange County, Calif and her and I are going to take a road trip next week to find them a house and a school for her son. It's a mini vacation, can't wait!

Grimspace is really coming along, It's finally getting to the meat of the story. I like March, I hope what Kay does not happen. I feel like he and Jax have a real connection.

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments The O.C. Leea. You won't be that far from me.

message 4297: by Leea (new)

Leea We keep saying the O.C. *itch, from the show, The O.C. haha! I'm not an LA fan but the OC should be just far enough for my taste. haha!

message 4298: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments I avoid LA like the plague. Traffic is always horrible and people don't know how to drive there. I live about 20 miles east of LA.

message 4299: by Tellulah (new)

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) Just read a wonderful book 419 by Will Ferguson . If you've ever watched Syriana or Traffic, it's that same kind of umbrella issue, intersecting stories - except about Nigeria and the internet scams that come out of there.

message 4300: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Hi DG!!! Welcome back! :D

Tellulah I haven't heard of that book, but I am definitely going to look into it.

The beginning of Grimspace can be confusing, the hook comes after the beginning. I have seen many status updates from friends who want to give up at the beginning. Leea, you are a good friend -- I bet that is so stressful for her!

I just finished the roster for 36 soccer and teams and a game schedule for 10 games for those 36 teams. Plus I had to resolve conflicts, b/c 10 coaches coach other teams. I am done. I feel so free!

I sometimes go weeks without driving, god I hate traffic it raises my stress level. I don't know how you all handle it.
