Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I normally prefer Rose types of characters because I pop off at the mouth and say things without thinking a lot of the time and I tend to take action when something needs to be done... but it's nice to see an author who doesn't recycle her leads. Different is good. Especially for a spinoff. You don't want to read the same series over. There needs to be recognizable differences.

But there's no way Sydney and her "person (you know who but I'm too lazy to spoiler tag)" are going to replace the chemistry of Rose and Dimitri.

I like the other guy but he's no Dimka.

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I definitely am more of a Sydney personality type, so while I love getting in the mind of the more in your face heroines, I really appreciated Sydney's clever way of handling things. I like her a lot and I can't wait for my book to get here!

I think that "other guy" is really growing on me. If it keeps up, I think I'll like him more than Dimka in the end.

About Nathaniel in Wilderness series. I never thought that his use of 'aint' spoke to his being unintelligent. There's a VAST difference between being unintelligent and uneducated. Nathaniel was uneducated, and i would have been completely unrealistic for him to use proper English when he was raised as a Native American and not in a white school. I totally remember that conversation too, and I absolutely disagreed with people then too. I thought it was a little shortsighted.

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I finished Wool 2 Proper Gauge by Hugh Howey and Tricked (Iron Druid Chronicles, #4) by Kevin Hearne today. I'm not sure yet what I'm going to read next.

it's starting off pretty good. it's been a while since i've read Lori Foster and i loved Too Much Temptation and some of her other books. i'm still in the "get to know the characters" stage. hehe. but i'll definitely let'cha know how it turns out.

I love that! I couldn't agree more. So many people in my life are brilliant without a lot of education. I personally believe there is all different types of intelligence.

Every person has value. Actions speak volumes.

How was Wool 2?

Troubleshooters? Hahahaha!

D.G. Oh Lord! Last night I started No Rest for the Wicked (Immortals After Dark, #2) by Kresley Cole in audio (I've heard great things for the narration) and it's smoking HOT! The narrator is a guy and he does the accents so well! I almost had an orgasm when I heard a Scottish character (the men are sooo freaking sexy!)

The story is going OK (not great...those heroines are annoying) and I've rolled eyes several times but I'm most enjoying the narration.

message 2408: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Leea, I actually almost emailed you about Troubleshooters 5. I decided to hold off and read If I Stay by Gayle Forman first, only because it's really short and I can probably finish it before The Golden Lily (Bloodlines, #2) by Richelle Mead gets here. (I have to read that immediately, lmao. I'm jealous of everyone who's reading it now!) Can we do Troubleshooters 5 after that? Like, Sunday?

I also am trying to get the YA-MA Storyteller group read in too. And I want to do Mercenaries book 1 soon. What do you think?

message 2409: by Leea (last edited Jun 13, 2012 10:39AM) (new)

Leea I read if I stay, it's good and short. Enjoy! I have the next book is you need it.

I guess I should buy the Golden Lily haha! Not sure why I'm not rushing out to get it.

Well, if we start Mercenaries we need to see if Regina, Stacia and anyone else who wants to read it is ready. I guess we should read that before Troubleshooters #5? Next week?

Kresley Cole writes some sexy steamy scenes! I hope you enjoy it!

Leea I'm still trying to get into Last Will by Bryn Greenwood for a buddy read.

I started Colters' Woman (Colters' Legacy, #1) by Maya Banks . I have had this book on my TBR list forever. Parts are so sweet and gentle. Others, 3 big strong men and 1 slight woman. I wonder how it's going to end. I'm not a huge fan of m/m/m/f but somehow she's making this all seem so normal - yeah crazy!

message 2412: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments I need to get to Golden Lily soon but I just have to be in the right mind set to start a paranormal-ish book.

I finished About Last Night by Ruthie Knox which had a bunch of rave reviews from some bloggers I follow. I felt a disconnect between the characters from the beginning so this ended up being just an okay book for me.

I think that was my favorite book in the series (I stopped at book 4). Yeah, they're hot!

message 2414: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) We should definitely check with Regina and Stacia. Are you girls around? LOL

I don't think Regina finished Soldiers, at least I haven't seen that she has... If they're ready, that would work before 5. Either way, I'm definitely trying to be flexible. :)

message 2415: by Regina (last edited Jun 13, 2012 10:58AM) (new)

Regina (reginar) Deleted for my safety. :)

message 2416: by D.G. (new)

D.G. Oh that's horrible, Regina. Just take care of yourself and don't worry about us. We'll be around here when you are ready!

message 2417: by D.G. (new)

D.G. The book per se I'm finding sort of average (I'm having the same issues I had with the previous book.) But I'm enjoying the narration.

message 2418: by Leea (new)

Leea Regina, you're in my thoughts and i'll be sending you strength. I'm so sorry. This is where I wish we lived closer, i'd take you out for drinks so you could just vent.

Like, D.G Said. We'll be here when you need us :)

message 2419: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments I missed your post, Regina. Whatever it is...I hope you're okay!

message 2420: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Thanks ladies. I appreciate it. And thanks for the private messages too.

Good news is, it is a great way to lose weight as I can't eat!

I will be popping in, but can't count on me for anything.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I don't know what happened Regina but let us know if you need us.

I can't do Mercenaries for a couple of weeks, sorry. I have another long read I'm about to tackle in a couple of days and I'd rather not commit to another long read until I know the first one is close to being finished. It took me a couple of weeks to get through my last lengthy read.

message 2422: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Regina, I missed the post too, but whatever it is, my thoughts are with you.

message 2423: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Stacia, do you still want to read Gio (5th Street, #2) by Elizabeth Reyes tomorrow?

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Sure. I have to go out to lunch with my mom but I can start late afternoon.

message 2425: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Sounds good. I'll probably start tomorrow afternoon too.

Kelly ~ happily oblivious | 102 comments Have been totally engrossed in Between the Lines (Between the Lines, #1) by Tammara Webber and Where You Are (Between the Lines, #2) by Tammara Webber the past two days. I read the first two and loved it! I haven't read the 3rd one yet. I know Stacia has. I finished the author's latest release: Easy by Tammara Webber and I enjoyed it too. I thought that was just as good as Between the Lines and Where you are...if not better.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Easy was my favorite book by her but Graham is still my favorite character.

Book 3 of BTL was good but it took me a while to warm up to Dori. The setting was appropriate for the story but it almost took you out of the feel of the series because it was so different from the first two books. It was my least favorite of the three but still cute and worth the read...3 to 3.5 stars about.

Kelly ~ happily oblivious | 102 comments Yeah, I kind of got that feeling about the third book and haven't been as excited to start that one. Especially since Graham isn't one of the main characters. :(

I'll have to try Easy next. I'm really enjoying her writing style. And the recs that it is even better than BTL makes me very curious, because I have been glued to these books.

message 2430: by Leea (new)

Leea Kelly, so glad you found a YA book you liked :) I love that series and have yet to read Easy but I plan on it.

message 2431: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Do I need to read #1 before I read Easy?

message 2432: by D.G. (new)

D.G. I thought Easy was a standalone!

message 2433: by Leea (new)

Leea Wendy, you want to read Troubleshooters #5 next week and wait for the rest of the crew to read Mercenaries? Thoughts? :)

It is. It's not related to the BTL series.

message 2436: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I'm definitely down with doing Troubleshooters on Sunday, I'm excited to continue that series.

I didn't see Regina's response, so I'm not sure what she said about the Special Forces buddy read. I guess my only question would be does everyone like the series enough to continue to buddy read it. I love buddy reading with you ladies, it's so much fun to talk about it as we read. I just don't want anyone to feel obligated to buddy read something if they aren't really feeling the rush to read it. I'm willing to wait, for sure. But if you guys aren't really feeling it, I totally understand and we can just read at our own pace?

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments What number are you all at with the Troubleshooters? Did you all read #4 yet?

message 2438: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) We sure did! That was the last one we read. Have you read 4 yet, Kay?

message 2439: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Argh...I missed it then. I haven't read 4 yet. Only #1 and #3. I'll see if I can fit in 4 before you all start 5.

message 2440: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) You will love it Kay. It is fabulousnesss!!! Let me know when you start it, I may join you for a re-read.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Finished Last Will by Bryn Greenwood and it was okay. Nothing special.

message 2442: by Leea (new)

Leea Yeah, Sunday will work to read Troubleshooter 5. Regina said she can't read it now. We'll have to check with her later to see when or if she wants to continue.

Kay, yeah read 4 do you can join us for 5. Out of control is SO good. Can't wait to hear what you think ;)

Then I won't feel bad not finishing it. Lol!!!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I honestly think I would have liked it better if I hadn't read Me Before You first. This felt like sort of a rehash of some of that book except much more dry and there was nothing to tear up over.

It wasn't a hard book to read or anything. I breezed through it quickly. It just didn't get to me in any way.

Leea I finished Colters' Woman (Colters' Legacy, #1) by Maya Banks Colters' Wife (Colters' Legacy, #1.1) by Maya Banks Callie's Meadow (Colters' Legacy, #1.2) by Maya Banks The last two were really short. Not sure if i'm going to continue the series now that I know what these books are like. It's not like they were bad and I was surprised to find such an emotional connection to Ryan, Ethan and Adam.

I'm going to start Easy by Tammara Webber

Leea, i liked Colters' Woman. it was a bit of a stretch with the whole M/M/M/F for me too. i had to put myself in their "little" world to make it work. i did like Maya Banks' writing style though in this series. i tried her Sweet series and couldn't really get in it cause of the bdsm. i'm not too in to that.

Kelly ~ happily oblivious | 102 comments Leea, I can say that I'm a total YA fangirl now. Well, at least for the books I've read so far. You'll have to tell me what you think of Easy. I'm going to start that one too.
