So so good, Kay! :)

Regina (reginar) I liked Murphy and Hannah, they both needed each other so much.

I wonder if you have gotten to my favorite Izzy moment. Has Dave come pounding on the door of Izzy's apartment yet?

I am still really not in a great place healthy wise. Viruses have kicked my butt this winter.

message 7853: by Dayana (new)

Dayana At the moment I am reading The courtesan's lover by Gabrielle Kimm which is not from the usual romances I'm used to read. Despite that, for now I like the book because you can understand better the characters because it is done from the point of view of each character and you can understand why they act in particular way.

P.S. I don't know if here is the place but how do you put the links of books to show like pictures of the books. I hope it makes sense.

message 7854: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments Dayana right above the comment box click add book/author. Put the name of the book and click cover and all the books with that name will pop up and when you find the one you want, click add. Make sure you finish typing what you want before adding the book because the book won't who otherwise. You can type things after you add the book.

Hope this makes sense.

I've passed that point. It was a crazy moment and I feel like Gillman is a total butt head now. What happened to him? I guess we'll find out in later books. Izzy and Eden (view spoiler)

It's the best Zoo to see in a few hours, that's for sure. Kids had a blast and we got several pictures for Ethan's Project. Sac Zoo has not changed since I was a girl. They must have gotten some much needed money because it's beautiful, more plants and some new animals. Stacia, have you been to Fairy Tale Town? Kids wanted to go there today too but I was so tired. Haha!

Regina (reginar) I love the part where Eden looks at izzy getting dressed and suddenly realizes that all the men in her life before him have been boys but not Izzy. He is a MAN. Eden is too young. Poor izzy. He has such a good heart.

message 7859: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Arcadia by Lauren Groff is now breaking my heart.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I have been to fairy tale town but only as an adult. There's a similar place in Oakland at Lake Merrit called Fairyland and that's where we went when I was a child. I loved that place.

Finished Beautiful Days (Bright Young Things, #2) by Anna Godbersen and it didn't have as much intrigue as book 1 but I liked it okay.

Starting Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices, #3) by Cassandra Clare and Dear Cassie by Lisa Burstein

Leea I was just thinking I wanted to take the boys to SF Zoo this summer because they just had a blast and want to see more animals than what our little zoo has.

If you are planning a trip to Southern California, the San Diego Zoo is a great place to take them.

It looks like it worked. Yay!

message 7865: by Leea (new)

Leea Yeah, we're going to SD in October, well that's the plan at least. During the boys fall 2 week break. We usually stay in Carlsbad, so it's Lego Land and some of the other parks, plus a lot of pool side fun!

message 7866: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments If that is the case Leea, I would highly recommend taking them to the San Diego Zoo. It is huge and there are tons of things to see and do there.

message 7868: by Leea (new)

Leea Yeah, I went to SDSU. I also loved and want to take them to the Wild Animsl park. Should be fun!

message 7869: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 886 comments I haven't been to the Wild Animal Park but I know people who have and they loved it. Best part, in Downtown San Diego they have a Ghiradelli ice cream shop there. After all the fun cap the day with a hot fudge sundae.

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Regina wrote: "Has Dave come pounding on the door of Izzy's apartment yet?"

Wait, Dave or Dan? I'm so confused. Dan came by in the beginning to (view spoiler).

DAVE hasn't yet come to Izzy's door. (There's so many D names in the series that it's confusing. Dan Gillman is Eden's brother, Dave Malkoff is the one in who's in love with Sophia but she just sees him as a best friend, but Sophia is in love with Decker who pushes her away cause he can't get over their past, lmao. I have to keep reminding myself because the names can be so confusing.)

message 7871: by Leea (new)

Leea Yeah it's confusing!!! But you laid it out beautiful Wendy!! *tear* I'm so proud :)

Regina!!! Who is Izzy's HEA? I kind of like Eden but Wendy pointed out that his book is #16 so... Something happens.

message 7872: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments I'm currently reading Kiss an Angel by Susan Elizabeth Phillips . I forgot how much I love SEP's men. I hope she will get me out of my funk.

Stacia...about Fairyland in Oakland. I use to love going there as a kid too. Unfortunately, the upkeep hasn't been that great and everything just looks so old and faded. I'll still take my kids there but it's only like a yearly thing.

message 7873: by Leea (new)

Leea If you're ever in Sac, Kay. The boys would love Fairy Tale land. It's the same when I was a kid but they do keep it clean and nice.

message 7874: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Sorry I meant DAn -- lol. EEek, I am an idiot.

message 7875: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I can't tell you who Izzy's HEA is! I wish I could. ;) It is worth the wait though. Izzy grows up a lot over the next few books. He stops being so immature.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) leea, for a sec I'd thought that you changed your title to landscape artist.

I need to check it out. We have some family in Sac but hardly make it out that way but this could be one reason to go.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) It's her moderator title, so it would be in the group settings.

message 7881: by Lori (new)

Lori (lorimcd) LOVE San Diego - lived there for a couple of years awhile ago. I find myself staying in North County in the Oceanside area more and more often.

Carlsbad has a great Farmer's Market! My fav restaurant used to be Charlies by the Sea, but it's not there anymore. But so much in that area!

The Wild Animal park is closer to Carlsbad than the Zoo, itself. In April, they have a butterfly exhibit - you can have butterflies all over you! This zoo is more Big Game/Africa type of animals, and I think they even do night safaris... it's been awhile.

Are the flower fields still there and in bloom?

ANYWAY... anyone ever read the Experiment in Terror series with Perry and Dex? I'm just getting into book #2, and I'm kinda curious about some things...

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I liked EiT book 1 but haven't read the second yet.

message 7883: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Yeah, we totally got to the Dan showing up at Izzy's house.

Many I love Izzy. (In some ways he reminds me a lot of Qhuinn.) I hope he doesn't lose his humor. :)

I finished Into the Fire and I really liked it. Reviewed and everything. Now I'm on to Clockwork Princess! Yay, loooooove this trilogy.

Leea Stacia (does not squee) wrote: "leea, for a sec I'd thought that you changed your title to landscape artist."

Nope... although ever time I see your Stacia (does not squee) I giggle so thanks for that. Haha!

Also, Wendy and I might start EiT series after we're done with the Troubleshooters series. Maybe you could join us for book 2... a mini golden girls reunion :)

Lori, last time we stayed in Carlsbad we stayed in the resorts above those flower fields, so beautiful.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) That one looks interesting.

Finished Dear Cassie by Lisa Burstein and it was just okay. I think I was hoping for more of an emotional pull. I was in the mood for super deep.

I am beyond excited for Lover At Last (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #11) by J.R. Ward for next week!!!

I really enjoyed this one. The author is also a singer who recorded the songs mentioned in the book. I listened to it after I finished the book it it was great to connect the music to the words. I haven't read the second book. The reviews have been mixed and I'm nervous that it won't live up to the first one.

Shawn | 2 comments An Agreement Among Gentlemen by Chris Owen Just started this book so I dont have an opinion as of yest. Just finished The Phoenix by Ruth Sims and wow, if you like m/m historical romance, and even if you have never tried it .... this is an amazing book. Mrs. Sims spent many years developing this book and it shows. She draws you in and makes you love the characters from the first page. I can't recommend this author enough. She is an indy and doesn't get nearly enough praise for her work. So kudos Mrs. Sims.

No...I never made it past the first one. :( I was going to try to read the second, but I just have other books I want to read more.

I hope you LOVE it!

message 7896: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Oh that is right. You should Angie, you would like #2 and #2 much better. One is not great. Many of us liked/loved it b/c it was read a long time ago. ;)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Oh man, I'm soooooo crazy excited for Lover At Last (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #11) by J.R. Ward ! Like, I get giddy when I think of it.

And her little snippets on facebook are making me wither away!

message 7898: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I am holding myself and not reading them -- after I read one and it made me so anxious for the book. LOL.

message 7899: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I am listening to The End of the Affair by Graham Greene and it is so achingly beautiful. It is narrated by Colin Firth.

I'm not reading the FB snippets, so I'm primed. Can't believe the book is coming out next week! Wow!

Regina - I LOVE Colin Firth. I loved Colin Firth when no one knew who he was... before Pride & Prejudice, I saw him on some late night cable movie, "Femme Fatale", with Lisa and Billy Zane. Can't even find the movie anymore. But something about him really captured me.

That's when I started tracking down his movies, including "Valmont" with Annette Benning.

My friends all thought I was crazy, especially since they hadn't seen any of the his other films before "The English Patient" or "Shakespeare in Love". Now they all think he's great; and I still get teased every single time about him! But it's OK. He's still sigh-worthy to me.
