Regina (reginar) I like her as well. ;)

The Farm sounds interesting, but I guess not everything is not for all of us right? I seem to be off of dystopia/post apoc for awhile right now.

I thought those looked good, too!

The entire genre, or just some of them?

message 6155: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Just some...especially the last few that i have read. I also think that there are just so many YA dystopian novels now and it's hard to decipher which ones are good or not.

message 6156: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Kay I agree. Did you ever finish Sohpie Littlefield's Harlquin Zombie series? Aftertime (Aftertime, #1) by Sophie Littlefield Rebirth (Aftertime, #2) by Sophie Littlefield Horizon (Aftertime, #3) by Sophie Littlefield

message 6157: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments No, I haven't, Regina. you just reminded me that I need to!

message 6158: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) :D I think you liked the first? I like it because it is such a character novel but the zombies are freaking scary. I love the mother love issue and well, there is a freaking hot sex scene in #2.

message 6159: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments I really liked the first especially how the main character wasn't perfect. She had issues and the story was very gritty. Good to know about sex in book 2. Hmmm...I need to move this book up the list soon.

Angie Elle (angieelle) | 602 comments I have decided to put Julie James on the back burner and indulge my Highlander obsession with another trilogy. So this is what I am on to next: Captured by the Highlander (Highlander Trilogy, #1) by Julianne MacLean .

By the way--I've just started putting my 'shelves' feature to work and I love it!

message 6163: by Leea (new)

Leea Yay!! My shelves keep growing. Oh, let me know how Captured by the Highlander is, i've wanted to read that for awhile.

Oh Yay!!! I'll give you a heads up when I'm ready maybe at the end of the week? If you need more time, that's cool :)

message 6165: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Sounds good, Leea. Just remind me a couple of days in advance.

I'm reading Finding Chase (Chasing Nikki, #2) by Lacey Weatherford which is a YA/New Adult sequel to Chasing Nikki (Chasing Nikki, #1) by Lacey Weatherford . Book one had heartbreak so I hope the HEA comes nicely for Chase in book 2.

message 6166: by Lori (last edited Dec 10, 2012 11:36AM) (new)

Lori (lorimcd) OMG, Leea - the MacKinnon's Rangers books are AWESOME! I loved each one, but the 1st book was my favorite. I don't quite know why, but it touched me a lot like "Outlander" did the 1st time I read it!

Angie - I totally agree with your assessment of "Defiant" and your spoiler. So many heartbreaking things happened in that last book. (view spoiler)

I'll have to look at more Pamela Clare titles!

Reading The Rebel, since Julianne MacLean seems to be another popular author here. But I'm also reading the Regency Romance/Mystery With His Lady's Assistance, which is quite fun. It's sweet and coy without any real "steam"; both H & H are hot for one another, but it's in a clean, sweet way. The story and characters intrigue me, and there's at least one other book in the series.

Too many good books to read!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Finished Checkmate (A Neighbor from Hell, #3) by R.L. Mathewson and it had the same neighbor from hell vibe but I didn't like it as much as the last book I'd read in the series. It was still sweet, funny, and steamy, but a little bit of the middle dragged more than I would have liked.

Leea I finished Double Cross (The Disillusionists Trilogy, #2) by Carolyn Crane and had to dive right into Head Rush (The Disillusionists Trilogy, #3) by Carolyn Crane , now i'm 60% into it and don't want to stop.

Ugh...I haven't started it yet. I'm determined to finish one of the books that I've been reading for a while. I just have a hard time giving up a book once I've started it. I only have 17% of Fifty Shades Darker left, and I've been trying to read it for over a month now. I'm going to try and knock that one out before I start the Highlander one.

I've read the Wallflower books, but I've never read the Christmas story! I'll have to check that out. Is it good so far?

message 6189: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) It is free on the publishers' website, or it used to be.

message 6190: by Kit★ (new)

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) Yea, I'm liking it so far. It's got a more cheerful kinda tone it seems than the others, but it works for me. Plus I like seeing all the girls together again :)

message 6191: by Leea (new)

Leea Happy Tuesday Ladies!!

I'm still chugging through Head Rush (The Disillusionists Trilogy, #3) by Carolyn Crane .

Those are some fine cowboys :)

message 6192: by Leea (new)

Leea Finished Head Rush (The Disillusionists Trilogy, #3) by Carolyn Crane and WOW!!!! Love it! I have to say I love Trilogies because they're packed full of goodness and the author doesn't spread out the story too much. They just get right into the meat of it.

Going to read Heaven and Hell (Heaven and Hell, #1) by Kristen Ashley with Marcella and Shanna. Haven't read a KA book in a few months.

message 6193: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Leea, I agree. Although it is always so hard to say good-bye to those characters. :) I wonder what you will think of Mr. Real (Code of Shadows, #1) by Carolyn Crane

I started Highlander Most Wanted (The Montgomerys and Armstrongs, #2) by Maya Banks last night and finished it early early this morning and I LOVED IT. I am not sure if it was me and my emotional state but I cried several times, I felt physically pained at what the heroine was experiencing. Now I can't wait for her next book. I am going to have to read Maya Banks other books.

I am now reading Quintana of Charyn (Lumatere Chronicles, #3) by Melina Marchetta and it is amazing. 5 stars but I am only at 5 or so percent. It is really amazing to me how much I loved #2 and am loving #3 because at best, #1 was 2.5 stars for me.

I am listening to Sex at Dawn The Prehistoric Origins of Modern Sexuality by Christopher Ryan which I am really enjoying. I finished How to Save a Life by Sara Zarr on Monday. Such an amazing book.

message 6194: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I've been SO excited to see what you think of Quintana, Regina!

message 6195: by Leea (new)

Leea I think it's funny we all wanted the arc of Highlander Most Wanted (The Montgomerys and Armstrongs, #2) by Maya Banks because we couldn't wait any longer - now it just means we'll have to wait much longer for book 3. LOL!!

I cannot wait to read that on Friday!

I'm about 14% into Heaven and Hell - it's good. Heartbreaking past for Kia, I almost cried reading her abuse. Now lets see if she can move on and trust Sam?

I thought the same thing! But I don't have the strength to hold out! I will just have to endure the wait for the third. LOL

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I got the ARC for the Maya Banks book 2 but still need to read the first.

I'm about to finally finish the HR I'm on and am really liking it now, and I have the ARC for book 2 of that series. So I have to decide whether to just go on to book 2 of that one or do the Banks first.

message 6198: by Leea (new)

Leea Wendy and I are starting Highlander Most Wanted Friday if you can catch up on the first Banks book.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I won't have time. :( Wish I could, but I have to finish the one I'm on and have two other books that I promised I'd read.

We can discuss it when I get there, hopefully.

message 6200: by Leea (last edited Dec 12, 2012 03:09PM) (new)

Leea Always!! The book your reading looks good, you'll have to tell me who it is. I haven't read much HR unless it's got a Highlander theme. They just don't move me as of late.
