I know! I've enjoyed it a lot. Just book #5 to go. :)

Leea Regina wrote: "I have a 13 year old daughter and she has friends who are 14 and from perspective it is gross."

There is nothing sexy about a 14 year old - at all. My niece is 13 and that just wigs me out. I agree.

message 5503: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I am hoping it moves past this theme, I don't get why she didn't make her 16 or 17 (like Rose in Vamp Academy).

message 5504: by Regina (last edited Nov 03, 2012 07:36PM) (new)

Regina (reginar) Tellulah, exactly. Christian was always my favorite and I think it is because I loved the men from the Highlander series (books 4++ of course, lol not the first three). Well I am diving back in now.

Still sick, 5 soccer games later, after 4 hours of working, 2 beers later and I am going to read.

message 5505: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Regina, I realized that (view spoiler)

The Christian POV about Dani also makes me uneasy. At times while I'm reading about dani, I forget that she's 14 but then Moning throws in words that make me remember that she's only 14. I just hope Dani will be older and ready when she starts throwing sex in the mix.

I'm halfway done now and I'm sooooo enjoying it! It makes me kind of sad to think that the next book won't be out until next year. I'll just have to enjoy this slowly.

Leea Had my sons birthday party - 12 kids at the zap zone... then family back at the house for dinner, i'm so tired. Lets hope the kids sleep in with the time change. Now it's wine with my hubby!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I'm only about 30% into Iced. I can't seem to get a real chunk of time to read right now and I want to be able to read it all at once, so I keep falling back on shorter reads.

I had hoped Dani was going to be aged. I don't know why Moning couldn't have worked in at least another year or two on Dani...there could have been some header at the start saying, "2 years after..."

(view spoiler)

sounds like a crazy day Leea!

Your suggestion about "2 yrs after" ties into my biggest issue with this book. (view spoiler)

Loved the Batman/Robin dynamic though.

message 5512: by Leea (new)

Leea Tellulah - I feel the exact same way and i'm only at 22%, while I was just reading, I was thinking 'What is Dani's goal here?' I don't know, she's just running around, eating snickers and has what seems to be a bag load of admirers.

Stacia, I also agree, I love Christian but it was an all of a sudden moment when they're first reunited.

I think 2 years would have made more sense... She could have done 3 or 4 because anything can happen in KMM world. Haha!

Haven't had much time to read, so i've also been reading a few chapters at a time. I do think i'm going to do my review like "The world according to Dani" haha!

Rachel the Book Harlot I just finished Some Kind of Magic by Theresa Weir by Theresa Weir, which was a strange and guirky contemporary romance. The H and h were very eccentric (well every character was really) and it totally worked. I really liked it.

Now I'm reading The Demon in Me (Living in Eden, #1) by Michelle Rowen by Michelle Rowen, which is a very funny PNR filled with supernaturals. I haven't read a good PNR is such a long time so this was a nice surprise. I'm about 50% in and so far I'm really liking it.

message 5514: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments I finished Iced (Dani O'Malley, #1) by Karen Marie Moning and I really liked it. Dani is so young and still have lots to learn so I can't wait to read about her when she's older.

I don't know what to read now. Iced put me on a Fever high so other books just can't compare now.

message 5515: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) That is great! That gives me hope Kay.

AFter my crazy weekend I am sick again. :( Too sick to read. I am just laying and listening to audio books.

message 5516: by Lori (new)

Lori (lorimcd) I have high hopes for this "new" KMM series that continues Fever, but I have to say, Iced A Dani O'Malley novel didn't seem like "all that" to me...

I, too, was frustrated with Christian, on many levels. And after reading the Highlander series, it bugged me that all his family just left him in Dublin - no help, no support, nothing. That doesn't sound like the MacKeltar (Keltar?) family at all. Even if we had some little blurb (view spoiler) or something! I guess the idea with his obsessing over Dani is supposed to be tied to his "change", but still... *shudder*

I also really missed Mac and Barrons. It just doesn't seem realistic that they wouldn't have been involved at all in this book. OK, we see Barrons for like, one scen, but still...

Regina, i'm sorry you're sick again, hope you get some rest and feel better soon.

I haven't read any of her Highlander books so I have no clue about Christian's family. I also agree with you about the ending (view spoiler)

It didn't bother me that Mac & Barrons wasn't really in the book. I like Dani, Ryodan and Christian. It's a different dynamic and I can just imagine where Moning will take it in the future. I also appreciate how Moning writes the mystery and action. i know the book has lots of mixed reviews ...I will just say that I'm one of the ones that really liked Iced.

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments I decided to get back into Virgin River so I started A Virgin River Christmas (Virgin River, #4) by Robyn Carr . I have missed this small little town and their hot men!

message 5523: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Thanks Kay!

Oh glad to have you back! I think I loved #4 - that is with them in that old shack, right?

I am having a hard time getting in to Fever. I am not sure if it is because I am sick and so tired, or if it is because I just don't care about Dani's story.

I own Book 1 and have been meaning to read it. I really need to move that up my TBR list.

On another note, I think I'm one of the very few that couldn't get into the Fever series. I read Book 1 & 2 but wasn't able to finish the series.

Anyhoo, finished The Demon in Me (Living in Eden, #1) by Michelle Rowen ; loved it. Next up is Book 2 Something Wicked (Living in Eden, #2) by Michelle Rowen

yes...in the old shack. It hasn't heated up yet but I'm anticipating it will!

Rachel, it's a fun small town romance series. So, when you're in the mood for it, definitely pick it up. You won't be disappointed.

message 5526: by Leea (new)

Leea That's great Kay! I loved that book, it's always nice coming bak to Virgin river.

Okay so ICED isn't really holding my interest. Just seems drawn out and Christian is creeping me out. Eww!

Hope you feel better Regina!

Yes, very nice.

So, I know we've both been busy. You had your son's bday last weekend and I'm planning for Ethan's bday party this Saturday. Can we push out our read for Children of Liberty again?

message 5528: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Wow Leea, you and I are having the same reaction. I just feel like what Tellulah said above was so right on. In Fever this was this bigger stronger Mac was involved in -- with Dani, I just don't care what this struggle is.

Rachel the Book Harlot Kay wrote: "Rachel, it's a fun small town romance series. So, when you're in the mood for it, definitely pick it up. You won't be disappointed.

Sounds great. I love small town romances. :) I think I would like to live in a small town. Actually, I'd love to live somewhere with a lot of wide open spaces and natural beauty. I live in NYC and the older I get, the less it appeals to me.

message 5530: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) The great thing about the Virgin River books is there is good character development and it does get really steamy, plus like in BDB, the characters come back in later books. To enjoy, you have to be okay with lots of babies, pregnancy and detailed food descriptions. ;)

message 5532: by Kay (new)

Kay (calikay) | 1216 comments Rachel, how are you enjoying those Michelle Rowen books? Is it steamy? I read her Immortality Bites books Bitten & Smitten (Immortality Bites, #1) by Michelle Rowen , which lacked sex :( but was very funny. I did somewhat enjoy Nightshade (Nightshade, #1) by Michelle Rowen but haven't revisited any of her other books.

message 5533: by Rachel the Book Harlot (last edited Nov 05, 2012 10:50AM) (new)

Rachel the Book Harlot lol I'm okay with that, especially the food descriptions. I can't cook to save my life but I sure love to chow down. My idea of heaven is a place where you can eat, and eat, and eat some more without ever gaining a pound...or spend one moment on the treadmill. :)

message 5534: by D.G. (new)

D.G. I was supposed to start Iced soon but got derailed by another audio: Kiss an Angel. Really unique so far...a bit dated though because it was written in the mid-90s.

Aoibhínn (aoibhinn) I finished reading Eleven on Top (Stephanie Plum, #11) by Janet Evanovich by Janet Evanovich this morning. Stephanie's adventures still make me laugh after 11 novels. There are so many hilarious and witty scenes in this book. But I have to admit I was a bit annoyed by Stephanie in this book. I just wish she'd finally choose between Joe Morelli and Ranger! http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

Now I'm reading The Secret Keeper by Kate Morton by Kate Morton.

message 5538: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I switched to the audio version of Iced (Dani O'Malley, #1) by Karen Marie Moning and it is done really really well! I am liking the audio version better or maybe I just hit the action part. Phil Gigante reading Christian's and Ryodan's parts makes them very nice to listen to!

message 5543: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I loved the Mac and Barrons sighting. :)

message 5544: by Leea (new)

Leea Yeah that's a good part but also creepy. I think it's picked up or in just now accustomed to Dani's world.

message 5545: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Oh yeah, now I just got to the really creepy part. Okay, what is the purpose of this? I feel like it is a re-enactment of the scene in (Twilight #3 where Bella is freezing and Edward can't warm her up so Jacob does -- except Bella was older!)

message 5546: by Leea (new)

Leea You're right. Haha!! I have mixed feelings about how they see her, I know that's wrong but I think I just love Christian and want him to be good like his father and uncles were. Keep reading... I think he's beyond saving.

message 5547: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Oh no! I was starting to be sympathetic for him again. I just love those MacKeltars. I am pulling for him ..

message 5548: by Leea (new)

message 5549: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I like him, but I am supsicious. I have to admire someone who stands up to an unseelie prince and Ryodan. But I am also suspicious, I doubt he is human or if he is, I don't know ...
