Lover Revealed

AHHHHHHH

I have no clue on the ghost hunting front either. It seems like her mind wandered off a bit in between scenes about the main characters. I second that, if he wasn't in the city in a club or somewhere and someone caught a glimpse of him. Then I don't want to be thrown out of the main story reading about him. I mean I know she likes trying to set up her next characters' story lines pretty heavily in each book. But still that won the random acts of weirdness in story telling award for me.

I agree with your thoughts about Phury!!!He is strong and what he chose for himself will be redemption. My favorite Brother up until now is V.. I totally love him, and everything about him... I liked his story, just the end with the Jane undead and all got a little weird for my taste, I would rather have them as Mary and Rhage,,,he deserved it.... Regarding the subplots....I think they are good, I see the series as I read them as If I am watching tv or something, the story is beign told but have really deep supporting characters, and thew sub-plots are good. I understand sometimes you need to have everything in one book, but I think that is why I dig Ward, becasue although I am reading a book about one of the characters in particular, I get introduced to the next books and also here stories of others that complement the BDB world perfectly.... well, anyway..... V,V,V I so want him wrapped up and set to me for my B-Day jajajaja

That wizard represented his inner doubts and that inner voice of negativity that I think we all have. But his was always with him. Do to how his own parents treated him, how the brothers sometimes saw him, hell even in his own world he was treated too. He was considered the spare, not as valuable as Zsadist and getting that message all the time I doubt it creates inner feelings of good cheer and joy in him. And it also did represent his addiction. He unlike most others was stronger than just commiting suicide. But he was not able to out run addiction. So to come through all that. I think Phury's story was Ward's epic story of redemption. I actually think most authors try and sneak one of these types of stories to us. But I think we get so used to the harder edged characters around characters like Phury, that we totally by pass his very real humaness and redeemable qualities that aren't often linked to an outward battle but more of a inner one. And to a certain extent I liked Rhev and Ehlena's story. But more so because of Rhev(when you could get back to it). The Lash stuff was great. But Ehlena just read as a former upper crusty society princess that had to get a real job and have the shoe on the other foot of taking care of someone such as her dad. Yea she was a decent nurse. But in the grand scheme of things if she wasn't helping Jane with medical stuff I would be Ehlena whoing all the time. I still say Mhurder could have been brought more closer to the city at least. Ward wrote his part in a news from other states kind of way. Which didn't tie to nada.

I introduced a friend to the BDB recently and it has been grea..."
I don't disagree with you on anything you said. I think my primary disappointment with Lover Enshrined is that Phury was my favorite brother and I wanted a better story for him. I wanted him to find a woman who struck him dumb and made him think that being celibate all those years had been worth it because she was worth waiting for. I actually do get what Ward was going after in Phury's story, I just wanted better for him rather than good enough. Yes, in the end he was happy, but his journey to get there was one big anticlimax after another--Zsadist's ingratitude for Phury's sacrifice, the breaking of Phury's celibacy, and the fizzle rather than sizzle of his romance. Still, even the worst of the BDB is a better read than any other paranormal romance out there, so take any criticism as being in relation to the other books and strictly a matter of personal preference.

Good guys always finish last? Well, crud, I just hate that. Well,, obviously you are intelligent and well-spoken--well-written?--and I hope you eventually get the wow and sizzle you deserve, disproving the good-guys rule.

I ask, because I still feel that regardless of how much of a big or small reveal Phury's story was. It still had a right to be told in as big a book as the other brothers. And it also deserved to show what he went through. Yes, he may not have been beaten up or forced into sexual situations against his will. Or never know the struggles of being King or going blind like his fellow brothers. But he still was in affect made to feel less valuable to the point he constantly internalized those negative views of himself. And the only way to comfort himself through that was through the red smoke. I get doing drugs and drinking don't really solve anything but for him he had fewer options of how he could handle that hurt and grief and he went the easy route. But essentially he turned out to be like a phoenix. Died out and was reborn into something new. And I think Zsadist finally admitting how ungrateful he was to Phury for his help might have had something to do with it. Caused a shift between them that readers needed to see. And it was a beautiful thing when he finally got a handle on being the Primale and looking after Cormia and her "sisters" of the choosen. It brought him a new life and to a people that indeed need him and were grateful for his time, attention and being the kind of character he was. I guess that might not sound as exciting to most. But I know of see it as him re-making himself through giving himself to others that need him. Kind of like working for a non-profit that helps the homeless or something.

Phury is also a neurotic and insecure person, and to me that is much more relatable than the other brothers. However, that may be why people didn't like him as much. Cormia was so timid and he was really trying to be sweet to her, and I enjoyed it. Sure it could have been better, but what couldn't? She is a human who is figuring it out as she goes, and I definitely feel like I got my $7.99 worth of enjoyment out of the story.
However, I am a mega-fan and super apologist for Ward. I would be excited if she wrote the instruction manual to a toaster. (Maybe it would start out "This book is dedicated to YOU! I never realized how strong you are all those years I ate breakfast. I will never look at my Ego waffles the same way again! Much Love!)

WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Lord I hope not!

I've heard through the grapevine that she is planning on some books with Trez and Iam and something with wolf charcters she plans on calling wolfen or something.

Personally, I want a hot and heavy for Qhuinn and Blay! They deserve it and so do all of the other gay couples who enjoy the series!
Not taking a political stand or anything but...
Hey, MM can be HOT!

Yeah I thought the stuff she did with V and Butch was hot and they never got together! So I'm very anxious for the next level.
OMG! You really should go onto her website.... She has a " dream seq." where V has a dream that He and Butch had their hot and heavy! YOU'LL LOVE IT!!

Where can I find the dream seq? I couldn't find it
Happy reading!! it's a great website just to catch up with what the Brothers are doing!
RIGHT!!!! If Qhuinn and Blay's story is half as hot...Damn right they deserve a full book!!!

Rhage is my fav brother, probably because he's decribed as so damn hot but I also think he's really funny. His book was the one that really got me hook for the series. I had to go to the book store the next day after work and get the rest of them. I'm almost half way dome Lover Mine now.

I have to agree with you and I think the reason Phury's book wasn't good was because there was too much going on besides his story, not because I didn't like him as a character. With so many other subplots in his book, I don't think Ward did a good job developing Cormia's character for instance and that was a shame.
And, WTF was that part about ghost hunting? I don't remember which book was it but who freaking cares about Mhurder at this point?
