Choose Wisely Challenge

If you wanted to get away with it you should never have mentioned it and just have done it. :)"
*sigh* You were so right Barbara, especially since the bit about waiting a month certainly wasn't specified in the task. But this means I can start something now and pick it up again in a month, unless I just read the book I had lined up for this one.
Hehe, sometimes when I see a task I spot a loophole immediately and think "mwhahahaha, such a careless choice of words!"
I know! I do the same thing. I even look for loopholes on purpose. I just can't help myself. I usually read a book that was meant to be read, but sometimes I just have to use the loopholes that have been given to me. Sometimes it seems such a waste not to.
Lol, I'm not quite that bad, I don't think. But when I get more than halfway through a challenge and it starts getting difficult to fit my books to tasks, I start scrutinizing everything looking for a way to make things work!
But it's not my fault English isn't my first language. You guys are just taking advantage! Mean people - jk
Well I try to be a good girl and mostly I read the books that people want me to read, but there are some great loopholes every now and then and if I don't have anything that fits I just go ahead and use them.

Hey, my first language isn't English either. So we are on equal footing here.

It was a Hugo award winner. Lu Lent it to me so I quickly read it when I woke up this morning. I'm not a big fan not because of the writing, I just don't really like children's fiction.
I know I tried to read that one too but eventually just gave up. Luckily Coraline is only 170 pages which is why I read it. The Hugo being a fantasy award didn't leave me with very many options!
I know! It would be like you getting the RITA! But considering how many I have done I'm lucky I have haven't had to read anything really terrible. But I am sure Lu has some awful challenges lurking on that list of hers!

Yeah, maybe there's a 500+ page space opera task waiting for you, haha.

You have been lucky then, because I have had some terrible ones. Nothing I couldn't handle but still tasks I would rather have seen that somebody else got those.
Anyway I am done with the Collector for task 508 - Read a book that has a butterfly on the cover
Could I have task 348, please?

348 - Read a novel which is written by an African American or has an African American Protagonist
Just to be clear on something. Do you use the term African American to be polite and don't want to offend black people? Or does it have to be an African American? I mean can I read a book by a Dutch black author or about a black person living in Africa or does it have to be a black person from America?
Lol, calling all black people African Americans is kind of offensive. They don't necessarily have either African or American heritage, or both.
143 - Read a book that has 2 men and 1 woman on the cover. No more no less, not a crowd or anything like that.
Oh damn I spoke too soon. The book I've got for this challenge is one I want to read for the bibliophiles playlist. I think I might just have to wait until November to complete this one!
Yeah, that could be a problem. I have had similar problems in the past. Keep looking maybe you'll find another book that meets the requirements.
Hmm too hard to choose. A teen love triangle about angels that got a 3.30 rating, the second book in a series (that I have not read) about genetically modified circus freaks or one thats highlight according to the reviews is when the MC bang 5! Guys!
Thanks Lu but I think for now I will just wait :-)

I just finished I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou for task 348 - Read a novel which is written by an African American or has an African American Protagonist.
Can I have task 362, please?
Can I have task 362, please?
Completed Task 424 - Predictably Irrational: The Hidden Forces That Shape Our Decisions> NYT bestseller and it lurked on just about every ohter list when it was published 2 years ago.
I'm not going to ask for another task at this stage. I've discovered I need to read about 12 more books to finish all the random challenges that still lurk around so I want to focus on those first. My reading time is also being curtailed at the moment by other stuff. We're buying and selling houses, I have managed to get coerced into doing a cycle race (I don't own a bicycle) and am heading to India next month for 10 days. So between all of this and kiddies concerts etc I don't see too much reading happening.
BTW I posted details of a book launch next week under events. I have 3-4 friends who want to go, so we'll be there. If anybody wants to come, let me know and I'll add you to the RSVP.

Well you never know the task might coincide with the 12 books you need to finish :)
Wow you have a lot going on! Best of luck with everything :)

That means that right now that means a book by Amanda Hocking but if I wait and start reading on 1 October it is a book by Clive Cussler?

I am loosing IQ points every day this week. There hasn't been a day that I haven't done or said something silly. :)
Yeah I meant November. Let's say I have had a long busy confusing week and I am glad it is over.
Thanks I will wait then, because I think I have a Clive Cussler somewhere in my personal library. If I would buy something by Amanda Hocking I wouldn't be able to get it before November and then she wouldn't count anymore.
