I am definitely in.....*snort, snort*!!!!except for one problem! (I know....really??!?!? hard to believe there's only one!!!)
what if more than one colour fits me?!?!??
Colors and personalities:
“Color vibrations are a source of power, each one having a general as well as a specific function and purpose...Some people believe that each human being incarnates under a particular ray and is influenced by other subordinate rays, the focal point being an aura or radiation of light, that surrounds all creatures.”* Thus, every color of the rainbow, seven rays in all, can be attributed to someone's personality.
A RED personality is associated with those of an individual who is courageous, dynamic, and confident.
An ORANGE personality is associated with those who are creative.
A YELLOW personality is associated with those who are wise.
A GREEN personality is associated with those who are understanding, compassionate, generous, humble, and romantic.
A BLUE personality is associated with those who are truthful, loyal, and honest.
An INDIGO personality is associated with those who are intuitive.
A VIOLET personality is associated with those who are inspirational, kind and just.
For this challenge you may:
- Read the color that most describes you by either doing a Spell-it-out challenge (of the color or personality trait)
- Read books with that color or personality trait some how used in it. It could be a word contained in the title or a characteristic displayed by one of the characters. You decide.
- Read a book for every color of the rainbow (using the colors as your guide)
Levels:
Easy - 3 to 4 books.
Moderate - 5 to 7 books.
Difficult - Read 8+ books.
Example of a Spell-it-out challenge:
R - The Rancher and the Rock Star by Lizbeth Selvig (The, An, A, etc can be ignored in title in order to fit into this criteria)
E - Eden, Cynthia author of Deadly Fear
D - Daphney Bridgerton (character) from The Duke And I by Julia Quinn
Red..The Kingmaker's Daughter..Philippa Gregory(book 4)(13 Mar)
Orange..
Yellow..Cutting For Stone..Abrham Verghese
Green..Love in a Nutshell..Janet Evanovich(read)
Blue..A Week in Winter..Maeve Binchy(read)
Indigo..
Violet..Midnight on Julia Street..Ciji Ware(read)
I'll do this one. I'm blue.

Is it okay if I wanted to do a mixture of books using either a color or personality trait found in a book?
Sorry Catherine I didn't see the question in your post. When you look at so many challenges sometimes you gloss over a bit :-PYou can either read multiple colors or read the rainbow. It's up to you to make the challenge your own. You can read as many colors as you want!
@Gabrielle - you can mix and match if you'd like. Make the challenge your own. Especially if you're reading the rainbow.
Thanks Jex!I'm in too, I'm gonna do green because it's the color I identify most with but it's also one of my favorite colors. I don't know how many I'm going to read I think it'll depend on what I can find color wise.
I'm shrinking this down a little because I think I'll only be able to fit in one more book before the end of the month.

Okay another question, someone with better eyes then me please tell me what color this looks like to you, this cover looks dark blue to me am I right or am I seeing things? If this is a shade of blue are color shades allowed for this challenge?
Thanks.
Gabrielle, take a look at this listopia of green covers for ideas.I'd say that shades of colors are definitely fine, but that Lyon cover looks black to me. It can be hard to tell though, unless you can see the book in person.
What do others think?
Thanks for the list Kayla, and yeah on my screen it did look a little black but when I enlarged it it looked a really dark blue to me.

Okay I have a problem one of the books I wanted to use as a green covered book well the book I got from the library is different then the cover I posted on my reading list for this challenge.I still want to read the book but the version I ended up with doesn't match up with the cover I wanted to use for my challenge.
This is the cover I wanted to use
The color of the book I ended up with is mostly a white cover with blue edging.
Hi wanted to ask another question, would the color of the print used for this book title be considered orange?
the book cover itself doesn't seem to settle on just one color but the color used for the title looks orange to me, just wanted to get a second or third opinion.
Gabrielle, yes for Post #83, you may use your original choice of bookcover; it isn't your fault the library didn't buy the right one.
Also, yes for Post #84, I would say the title is orange.
Also, yes for Post #84, I would say the title is orange.
Awesome thank you on both questions, not sure I'll get either of them done before the end of the month but thanks for the clarification anyway.
I'm done, I was only able to read four books this month. But I'm planning to devour more books next month to make up for what I didn't/couldn't read this month!Bring on the month of April!
