Romina Russell (aka Romina Garber) is a Los Angeles based author who originally hails from Buenos Aires, Argentina. As a teen, Romina landed her first writing gig—College She Wrote, a weekly Sunday column for the Miami Herald that was later picked up for national syndication—and she hasn’t stopped writing since. When she’s not working on ZODIAC, Romina can be found producing movie trailers, taking photographs, or daydreaming about buying a new drum set. She is a graduate of Harvard College and a Virgo to the core.

Romina Russell My deal is for 3, but your question got me thinking how awesome it would be to write 13, one for every House!

I’m a Virgo, but I knew I didn’t want to write about myself—I wanted to get inside the mind of a new and unfamiliar character. I think the MC could have been from any Zodiac House, but I was particularly interested in exploring the impact this kind of story would have on a young woman who wasn’t “tough” or a natural fighter at the outset. I was curious what would happen to someone who’s warm, gentle, and nurturing if they embarked on this kind of journey. In Hunger Games terms, I pictured Rho as more Prim than Katniss—and she seemed to me to fit best within House Cancer.

And yes, Rho is also the MC of the sequel--which is nearly finished! :)

Tara Dobbs Finally was able to got Barnes n' Noble today and bought your book Zodiac and Wandering Star. I feel relieved to get these two finally in my hands. I'm on chapter 4, from where I left off last many months back. Can't wait to give a full review for these two. Oh, couldn't find it at NorWesCon2016, sorry. No one had heard about it. :(

Tara Dobbs When I moved back with my parents after a nasty divorce, I met a new friend who reads a whole lot. We would hang out at Books A Million every few days and just read. I found your book Zodiac and started reading, but I hadn't any money to buy it. Now that I'm back in Washington state, to stay permanently, I'm going to NorWesCon2016 (Writers/Gamers/Book convention). Your book Zodiac is at the top of my list to hunt down. It's hard to find in stores for some reason and it's driving me CRAZY not being able to pick up where I left off at chapter 4. I don't see how your book isn't a wild craze right now. The descriptions, details, structure, writing style, characters, visuals - it sucked me in and won't let go. I love everything about astrology and I had a feeling many years ago that someone out there would create a book like yours showcasing all that is Astrology into a fantasy structure like this. Zodiac is a thousand times better and more enjoyable to read than An Ember in the Ashes. (I'm on page 15 with that and am not happy with it) So, Zodiac is begging me to hunt it down and I can't wait for the convention to get here fast enough this Thursday to Sunday this week! I'll let you know if I find the book. I want it hardcover and nothing else. I hope this book becomes a movie. Can't wait to see the floating zodiac sign Pisces in the hallway and the Cancer planet with the unique shell boats! Movie producers better get THAT right so help me!

Yay! Thank you so much--what an awesome message!! I'm so happy you connected this much w/Z! <3<3<3 xoxoxo

Bernadette Hanken Omg! I love ZODIAC it broaden my horizon of the zodiac universe! I always had a heart into zodiacs and astrology and now you made my wish came true and wrote a fantastic book when people live in the different houses of Zodiac! You are my favorite author! I especially love how Rho is from the House of Cancer...MY HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!! I read somewhere where someone had asked you how many books you were planning and was hoping for 13 books to go with the 13 houses! I agree with that and do hope for that, but as everyone can see, it is up to the author and what she wants! You are FANTASTIC still!

Yay!!! I am literally hitting "send" on the sequel tonight, so it is about to officially exist. Pretty excited.

My mom and I trade books all the time--hope she likes it if she checks it out! And let me know how your re-read goes! :)

Erin Lynn I got my hardcover of Zodiac today, and it's so beautiful. I can't wait to re-read it, and then wait so impatiently for book two! Good luck with it! I'm sure it will be equally amazing!

P.S. I think my mom wants to read it now. :)
