"The Haunted" Book 2 in The Hollows series by Jessica Verday

The Haunted is the second book in the Hollow Trilogy by Jessica Verday. I must say that despite loving the storyline in the first book, this installment dug deeper into the main characters and answered questions that were left unanswered in the first book.
The descriptions in this novel were so amazing that I actually felt like I was looking in on what was actually happening! Another bonus is that Jessica creates her own tale of the haunted horseman and expands on it to bring readers even further into the storyline.
The teenage romance of Abbey and Caspian continues to pull the reader in and their love and admiration of each other continues to grow. I really like them together. Their youth, innocence and their desire to overcome everything together make it such a good read. It even makes the fact that she has to spend time with Ben to pass school a little bit irritating. (On Caspian's defense of course!)
We also see more growth in Abbey and she comes back from spending time away to repair her sanity. She gets a job at her uncle's ice cream shop and her dreams of opening up her own store becomes a healthy focus .
We are introduced to new characters and a very nasty adversary. Her run ins with Vincent (what a sneaky, nasty guy), Abbey starts to find out about Kristen's death and questions her own mortality.
This installment ends mid-action (if that's even word)! Leaving the reader to HAVE to find out what happens... smart but frustrating at the same time.
This rather lengthy book was a treat to read and I'd recommend the series to anyone. Can't wait for the final novel in this trilogy.

I've read about 1/3 of my Free space book. Will post again later!

I'm #1 on the waiting list, so if I get it by the time I finish my free space read (also a library book...and digital, so no way I can return it late!), I'll read

If that doesn't get to me in a timely fashion, I'll pick one of these that I have in my book mountain at home:

So, Thenia, you can just mark me as *shudder* undecided....

If you can't get Blood Promise, I've read Blood Song and it's pretty good. ;)
I changed my Supernatural book to

Enjoy picking and reading your 'ghost' books!

OOOH! I was thisclose to picking

*sob* I don't have much time this week! Apologies to the waiting library patrons, but gonna have to take my 21 day option!
So...my "undecided" status is happily resolved (and not my first, but close enough to make no difference!). Book of the week is

If you can't get Blood Promise, I've read Blood Song and it's pretty good. ;)

I really liked that book!

I liked The Restorer. Spooky and kind of different from the usual stuff out there.

Is there sex? Hot smutty sex?
ETA: If there is sex with ghosts, don't even tell me. *shudders*

I found the first part of this book a bit slow, but the story is interesting enough that it didn't make me like it less.
A unique perspective on Fairy Godmothers, this book has one as its main heroine and shows us what exactly a godmother is and what it is she really does.
All that talk about 'The Tradition' on the first part of the book was kind of tiring, but it was necessary for us to understand how things work in this complicated world.
Elena was likable and flawed, Alexander arrogant but lovable and the odd secondary characters and creatures interesting enough to give the story more spice.
This is the second book of the author's I've read and I liked both, so I'll probably read the next book of the series.

Shelf #1 ~ 2/5/12: 'Supernatural'

Just one thing...the reviews need to be posted here, not just linked....Sorry, but can you copy it here, too? Thanks!!

As for the ghost shelf book, I'm reading

4 stars
The newest installment of the House of Night series, Destined continues where the last book left off, with Zoey and her crew trying to make a home for themselves in the tunnels while keeping there connection through the Tulsa House of Night. As with the previous books, I did enjoy this read, though it is admittedly an easy one. I enjoyed the plot, and found seeing the characters again a but like coming home. That being said, I did find the ending a little bit of a letdown... I felt a little like things were being tied up in a pretty little bow- a bit to simplistic, followed by the standard "stay tuned for the next installment" statement. Will I read the next one when it comes out? Most likely. Do I find this ending (or not) irksome? Most definitely.

Supernatural shelf - 5/5 Done! ~stamp received
Free Space - 3/5 Done
Ghosts shelf - 1/5 Done
Enjoy your books everyone! And congrats on our first stamp (even if we haven't actually gotten it yet)!

I'll be reading the third and final book in the hollow trilogy for my free space. Trying to figure what to read for ghost.
Any recommendations?
If I don't get any ideas I'll pick something tomorrow morning.
Have a great night and thanks for all of the great reviews.

You now have an updated BINGO card with a stamp on 'supernatural'.

Good Job!! :D

City of Ghosts is the third book in Stacia Kane's Downside Ghosts series. It's a dark and gritty series. The world building is quite interesting. The people are governed by the Church, which protects the people from ghosts. The main character Chess is a witch and a Debunker. She is also a junkie. I think what makes this series so appealing is the depth of the characters. As I was reading this book I wanted to both hug Chess and smack her upside the head and cart her off to rehab. She is remarkably effective for someone so stoned. There is a love interest - Terrible - and he is an enforcer for the local crime lord. The scenes with Terrible are incredible.
Can't wait for the next books!

I've managed to confuse myself, so to clarify.
Over half done The Hidden which I'd like to count as my "Ghost" read.
Completed ARENA ONE: SLAVERUNNERS for my free space read and am almost finished my review. (Hope to post this afternoon)
Sorry for the confusion...... I'm on Morphine and sometimes I'm positive I actually have periods of brain death;)
Hope everyone had a great Valentines day!

Arena One: Slaverunners by Morgan Rice

Completed February 13, 2012
Rating: 5 stars
Review:
This is another great work by Morgan Rice, which I was able to read for free on Goodreads.
I loved this book; it was a perfect combination of strong characters, an amazing environment and a ton of "edge of your seat" action.
Not giving too much away, this book follows the trials and tribulations of an older sister during a post-apocalyptic event. Enter the presence of radioactively damaged humans and "slave runners" and her already difficult life gets even more challenging. To make things even more interesting, Morgan Rice introduces two polar-opposite male characters who further put our heroine to the test.
This book was so awesome I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Can't wait for the second book in the series, it can't be soon enough for me!

The Lords of the Underworld are a varied group, and there demons cause them the most interesting problems. Each read is fun, and leaves you wondering (and guessing about) when, and with who, the next one will fall.
Aeron met his match with Olivia, who chose to fall for him (from heaven that is, not sure she deliberately set out to become so dangerously attracted to him).
Olivia made her angelic debut in Aeron's life in The Darkest Whisper. (Side note...brought back memories of Eurrhythmics...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TlGXDy... )
That lead to complications with Legion, the little demon Aeron thinks of as a daughter, the one who calms his demon. Well, Legion's not on the same page as Aeron (men are so clueless at times) leading to various complications between her and that "ugly angel". Showalter throws in complication after complication, until you think there is NO WAY an HEA can come out of this. But remember, this is a romance. Where there is a will, there is a way. In some ways, it seemed the end was an easy way out, but it also set the stage for lots more happenings.
There is so much going on in the LotU universe, and Showalter throws out teasers for upcoming threads in each and every book, ensuring you've got to get the next one. I don't feel the need to grab the next one IMMEDIATELY, but it's definitely on my series to continue list.
