Nice one, absolute treasure trove of finds spanning hundreds of years

Do you even know any of the books? I was looking at the winners and all I know is Margaret Atwood.

Some really interesting items, thanks for sharing.

I grew up in Surrey, England. We had a tributary of the River Thames flowing at the bottom of the garden. I used to love canoeing down the river. I love the Thames because it reminds me of my childhood. I'm fascinated by anything to do with it. So much history buried in its mud.
I recently read Peter Ackroyd's Thames: The Biography which was an enjoyable read. One of my favorite reads this year was the novel Once Upon a River by Diane Setterfield. She did a wonderful job of capturing the mystery and magic and majesty of the river.

Do you like fantasy, Tamara? Ben Aaronvitch has a wonderful series called "Rivers of London" where the goddesses of the rivers are major characters.

Thanks, Margaret. That sounds great! I've put it on my TBR.

The goddess of the river Tyburn is my favourite. She's a complete cow!

I voted for him in both fantasy and science fiction categories.

After a tough six months where I was reading nothing and lost complete interest in reading, I thought I would never make it. :)

I still give preference to the Romans but since I can't find many quality novels anymore I have read different genres and that keeps me interested in reading. Right now I'm reading one in the "Golden Age of British mysteries": no, not Agatha Christie.

Not to smug or anything, but I've actually lost a couple of lbs. It has taken a whole lot of will power and wife who is willing to slap my hands as they reach for something tasty :)
We actually had a White Christmas - at least in the morning. All the snow we got over Thanksgiving has melted, but we had an inch or less (just enough to cover the grass) after we went to bed Christmas Eve and before we got up the next morning. It was gone by noon though :)

Here's what I think of your smugness.....bleep, bleep, bleep......lol

(although I'll give Cavill 5 stars all day long for whatever he does!!!!!)

I’ve been wanting to binge it since it came out but something or other has kept me away so far. Maybe right after New Years when the chaos settles down.
I’m with you on Cavill! All the stars!!!!!

The only list I voted on was the very first one and skipped the finals.
