Did you complain to the Feedback people? Or ask them about blocking this person?
Sounds annoying.

I haven't yet. Thought I'd ask here first for ideas. If there isn't a way to block without going thru them then I will. It is annoying! :D

To block a user:

1) Navigate to that user's profile page.

2) Scroll down to the bottom of the page.

3) Click "block this member".

Darcy (drokka) | 2675 comments The world has gone mad. Vending machine options were:
Ketchup flavoured Doritos or Cheesy Quesadilla flavoured Ruffles (not a bit redundant... *sigh*)

Why can't the Doritos be Doritos and the crips, crisps? Wonders never cease.

message 12005: by Gretchen (new)

Gretchen (eab2012) Ketchup flavored anything is gross. Even ketchup. Yuck.

message 12006: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (drokka) | 2675 comments I'm with you on that one. The Quesadilla Ruffles don't taste anything like a quesadilla... :(

message 12007: by Gretchen (new)

Gretchen (eab2012) A while back there was a cappuccino flavored chip. It was as awful as it sounds.

message 12008: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (drokka) | 2675 comments Yikes!
My dad was tempted by some chocolate covered ones and I thought those were bad; but cappuccino flavoured ones, I can't even fathom.

I want normal ones back. Hard to have a go-to when they keep changing the stuff.

I guess these folks have to experiment with something new, put it on the market, then withdraw it when people don't like it. Remember the coca cola fiasco a few years back?

happy (happyone) | 2782 comments It has been so warm here recently, It's unbelievable, Monday broke a record that was set in 1886 (79 F), by three degrees!

Its looking like long dry hot summer.

On Game of Thrones - I really haven't watched or read the books

Winter decided it wasn't done yet. It snowed yesterday but today it's all gone. My six year old was not impressed with having to wear her snow pants this morning only to have the snow all gone by the time she was off the bus this afternoon. "What was the point, Mom?" "You live in Minnesota and it's March. There is no point."

message 12012: by Jane (new)

Jane | 3480 comments I frankly think this whole weird winter with snow in places you wouldn't think of [s. US] and bitter cold in Upstate NY where I live [but usually not near PA border] is part of the "climate change".

Thank you! I like how they put it in very faint writing at the very bottom of the user's home page. Hopefully this will fix my problem.

Have seen the cappuccino chips but never had the urge to try them.

It's the kind of thing you find in the vending machine at the office. Once I bought some crackers that smelled exactly like my dog's cookies. They were allegedly bacon flavoured (!):

Mark | 1885 comments Had fish and chips flavoured crisps today, lovely memories of childhood.

message 12020: by Gretchen (new)

Gretchen (eab2012) I spent 25 minutes on hold with a state office today. I finally got a hold of someone and I ended up disconnected while she tried to transfer my call to a different department. UGH! That's fine it's not like I have anything else to do. One of the twinkers is sleeping in the living room so I can't make tons of noise around the house until she wakes up. Ugh!
On the bright side, tomorrow I'm going to see the Hapsburg art exhibit http://new.artsmia.org/the-habsburgs/
I'm rather excited. After the art museum, we're off to ikea. My babies are getting big girl beds! Sad day :(

Carol (ladygyn) | 304 comments Tonight marks the beginning of the 7 year anniversary of the death of my mother, and as I reflect on the relations between mothers and daughters I think of how we spend the beginnings of our lives trying to establish ourselves as uniquely different from our mothers, we spend the latter portions of our lives reflecting on how much like them we are.

Expecially when you lose them, Carol. I've lost my mother almost 20 yrs ago, I was 30. It seems sometimes so long, sometimes just yesterday. I'm sorry for your loss, but if you remember her, she's still with you a little bit.

I'm a week behind her, I'm heading to the near here next week end. :)

message 12025: by happy (new)

happy (happyone) | 2782 comments We'll be heading down to IKEA in a couple of weeks - need to get book shelves for the "new" library. My wife is slow converting one of the spare bed rooms into a library. We have had some shelves installed, but no where near enough. So as soon as she is statisfied at the wall treatment, we'll be heading down. (the nearest IKEA is about 40 miles away)

Linda (ladylawyer8650) | 1702 comments Weather Report! After the three week winter weather spell in February and March, the weather turned warm and muggy by day, cool and muggy by night. Typical weather here. The pear trees are in full bloom. The dogwood buds are swollen. The camilias and jonquils are blooming. Lawnmowers are out in full force. It is spring of the year.
I love reading your weather reports! Corps of Engineers are expecting some lower Mississippi River flooding this year. They have to keep the levies repaired. In places the river may run under the levy and cause sink holes. We know the Mississippi can be dangerous inside its banks, it is dangerous also on its banks.

message 12030: by Catherine (new)

Catherine (catjackson) We had snow yesterday and the weather is still chilly, after highs in the 70's (F) last week. Today and tomorrow we're supposed to be in the high 30's (F) low 40's (F). I don't mind the colder weather, I just wish it would decide pick a range and stay there. I can live without this up and down and up and down!

Linda (ladylawyer8650) | 1702 comments Congratulations Mr. And Mrs. Bobby and Mr. and Mrs. Carol!

On March 3I, I get TCM back! Like Jane, if there is something I like on the marketplace, it will be taken off faster than I can blink my eye. And my hair! It comes completely undone when I go someplace. Men are lucky! Their 'toilette' is quick. My husband never asks me if his hair looks OK, if shave is close enough or if his pants are too tight or the right length. His only question is whether the occasion is suit, sport coat, kahkii, or jeans. To the point and uncomplicated is my man. He would not understand how congratulating friends on their anniversaries could lead into my comments on TCM, my hair, and his clothes.

Bobby (bobbej) | 1375 comments Thanks from us to you all for good wishes....Happy, they split our crews up between NCAA and NIT. I'm at Texas A&M for NIT. And then wherever.......We find out after the games where we are headed.

Little time for reading. usually try and get a nap on the plane. Am struggling to stay awake occasionally with The Wolves of Andover by Kathleen Kent about Charles II.

message 12049: by Jerry (last edited Mar 23, 2015 10:13AM) (new)

Jerry Bennett | 147 comments Here's a question that could amuse or terrify in equal proportions. Is George Osborne (The UK Chancellor of the Exchequer for the non-Brits among you) a secret follower of this group? There is money set aside in his latest budget for celebrating the 800th anniversary of Magna Carter, the 600th anniversary of Agincourt, the 200th anniversary of Waterloo and the 100th anniversary of Gallipoli. Being a somewhat cynical type, I wonder if this isn't some subtle form of election bribe, but maybe I just have the guy all wrong, and he's deep into history after all. Mind you, he missed the 700th anniversary of the siege of Carlisle, which is one of the Labour opposition's target seats. Bad mistake, that!

I don't have much time for politicians, but out of 653 MPs in parliament, surely one of them is interested in history? It could be George!

message 12050: by Margaret, Sherlockian Sheila (new)

Margaret (margyw) | 3341 comments I'm probably cynical, Jerry, but I reckon it's got less to do with celebrating history as it has hooking in the tourist dollars.

All the mentioned events are pretty well known, even if only by name, to non history buffs.
