The Living Sword 2 - The Road Ahead continues the adventures of Eurik and Silver Fang. Eurik is still searching for answers on who his parents were while Silver Fang is caught between her duty to her fallen mentor and the debt she has to Eurik.

And all the while, the rumblings of war grow louder.

There are still 19 ARCs available through Booksprout until the 8th of January 2020. If you want, you can get the story by following this link:

Flavio Ciabattoni Dear GoodReaders,
I’ve just launched my new book Morocco Unveiled: Backpacking Diaries of a European Millennial and I’m looking for readers who’d like to review it.
Here you find the description and the link where you can preview and excerpt. If you are interested, write me a message and I will send you the entire ebook. Thanks and have a nice day!
Flavio

“Mohammed, the fact that many Muslims, like you, want to move to Europe, does this mean that the atheists and the Christians, who have never even read the Quran, have created a better society than Muslims who follow its teachings? Hesham, do you consider being gay and Muslim to be a contradiction? Marya, what do you think of Muslim girls who don't wear headscarves? Ahmed, what is the difference between neo-nazis and Isis extremists?”

This is the diary of a millennial who quit his well-paid corporate job to travel in the Middle East. You might imagine that this is a book full of answers; on discovering the coordinates of happiness, on finding your place in the world, on taking the right path. It does none of that. This book is first and foremost a book about questions. Not the kind of questions that give answers, but the ones that leave you doubting what you previously knew. Questions formed during a solitary journey into the depths of Morocco, from the Atlantic to the Sahara, passing through blue cities, emerald oases, pink deserts and golden kasbas, Ramadan and mint teas.

The only end point of this book is a further starting point: opening a window to the other side (the Moroccan culture and the Muslim religion) means first of all to reopen a window to ourselves: Europe, Mediterranean, Aristoteles, Christ, Saint Augustine, Avorroes, Alexander the Great. And also Italo Calvino, who once wrote: “Elsewhere is a negative mirror. The traveler recognises the little that is his, discovering the much he has not had and will never have.”

Gloria Joynt-Lang (gloriajoynt-lang) | 4 comments Attention lovers of Contemporary Romance.

I have a new contemporary romance novel coming out next month. Braking Hard features a mechanic with ADHD who tries to navigate life after the sudden death of his mentor.

Official Blurb:
Gage O'Neill is an all-around nice guy and an Adonis in coveralls. With a thriving automotive business, a gorgeous girlfriend, and his ADHD under control, life is pretty incredible. But when he loses a loved one, Gage's perfect world unravels. Prone to bad choices, he's desperate to quell his rash behavior. Thankfully, hiring a curvy mechanic is the one impulsive decision he's gotten right.
Eden Sampario is destitute as a result of a confrontation turned violent with her former employer. When Gage mistakenly offers her a job, she readily accepts. But soon she wonders if she made the right decision. Resisting her sexy boss proves more challenging than an engine rebuild. Her only other option? Give in to temptation and risk not only her career but also her heart.

If this sounds of interest to you, contact me through Goodreads or through my website listed below. I can send you a digital copy (mobi, epub, or pdf).

All I ask is for an honest review on Goodreads and Amazon.

Thanks.

Ben Weller | 2 comments Hi all,

I wondering if you would be interested in reading a novel that I have written and am yet to publish. It is my first novel and I would love any thoughts on it. Below is a brief overview. I only have it on PDF as am yet to publish as am happy to email it.

The Journeyman is a tale of a young man learning about life and love and the dangers of challenging those with power. It follows the life of Samuel Murphy, an only child, growing up in an Essex village in the mid-eighteenth century. Soon after completing his blacksmith's apprenticeship, he finds himself arrested and charged with the attempted murder of the son of the local aristocrat. The story follows Samuel to this point in his life and beyond to where his heroic actions lead him to have his sentence commuted and his enrollment in the British Army, which is heading to America at the beginning of the Seven Years War. Samuel Murphy’s character developed after reading about the life of Isaac Darkin, an English highwayman of the same era.

Let me know if you would like to read it now and leave a review when it is published.

All the best.

Ben

Vinnie Apicella (escape-from-america) | 7 comments Greetings All,

My name's Vinnie Apicella. I'm happy to be part of this group and appreciate the opportunities available to us here on Goodreads.

I'm a teacher, writer, and entrepreneur living in Beijing for the past several years. I'm pleased to share, I've recently become an official author self-publishing my first book, Escape from America: An Introspective Journey from America into China...

Escape from America An Introspective Journey from America into China… by Vinnie Apicella

Would love to connect with others, and am happy to accept review requests from anyone interested. In spite of the title, you don't need to be Chinese, American, or have interest in either country to derive something of value.

My “story within a story” is one that I believe can encourage you, whatever your background, and no matter where you are in life, to pursue your passions and keep pushing forward, even when the deck seems stacked against you.

Cheers guys, I look forward to interacting here in our group!

Hi Debbie, good to hear from you and thanks for reaching out!

I'm honored that you're interested in my book and will gladly provide you with more information. First, about your experience in Shanghai, that sounds terrific. I've lived in Beijing most of the time here -- still do -- but also know Shanghai pretty well. It's more of an international city compared with BJ. By the way, you mentioned Chinese New Year, right around the time when all this trouble hit with the virus and travel restrictions, and so on. I do hope you weren't affected and keeping safe during this time.

I'm also a teacher, focused on English and writing, and also study abroad for Chinese students. Several of my older students had actually contributed to my book through interviews -- one of them is studying in Harvard, another at GWU, and all are doing very well for themselves. It was great to get insights from the younger people who are in a better position to speak objectively, but also show an awareness that even some adults are lacking.

Well before I go on too long here, I wanted to say thank you again for reaching out and your interest. I'll be glad for us to keep in touch in the future, please feel free to add me as a friend.

As for Escape from America, it's recently been published online. Here's a link to Amazon if you like:

https://www.amazon.com/Escape-America...

I would also be glad to send you a review copy through email, whichever you prefer.

Take care, and I hope to hear from you again soon.

Vinnie.

The Name of Red

Two strangers on the same path.
Survivors. Companions.
They will be each other’s salvation.

On a rainy, winter night, a mysterious woman in a red dress seeking shelter comes inside the restaurant Kabir was busy working in —primarily the bar— and night after night, drink after drink, she comes back to the same spot. That is where he sees her for the first time.

Hundreds of patrons around her try to speak with her daily, but she dismisses them. It appears she wants to remain in a blissful peace alone with her booze and books. After seeing the mysterious woman reading a book, and because of his shy nature, Kabir gains entrance into her life by anonymously leaving books with notes for her.

The Name of Red is the story of two strangers, two different personalities who meet on a winter, rainy night who challenge each other. They have a connection which blossoms into a friendship due to their fondness of books. But they both have secrets that can bind them together or threaten their newfound relationship forever.

Synopsis:
Dr. Sophie Grimaldi, successful and happy in her career, if not in love, is contentedly single and plans to remain that way. Books have always been her escape and the only place she still allows herself to believe men are decent and true love exists.
Author Jax Rowland is writing the first book of his next spy thriller series, struggling to forge a deeper connection between his protagonist and not-another-Bond-girl to appease the disenchanted female portion of his audience.
When Sophie finds a sheet of Jax’s notes in a library book, she’s appalled by his attempt at writing a love scene and critiques it, never imagining the author will read her review. Ashamed to view his work through a mystery critic’s eyes, he recognizes her talent and hires her to edit the love scenes of his next novel. As they get to know each other through the work, discovering all they share in common, a desire for more than a working relationship, more than friendship grows. But, after a series of missed connections, it seems fate has other plans.
Will they continue to play it safe and single or will they risk another heartbreak for a chance at love?
Note: Book Review is a full-length standalone romance with some adult language. The end of this book is not a cliffhanger but, if you prefer a tidy conclusion, this may not be the book for you. Reader discretion is advised.

Tony G. (cityfeller) | 1 comments Greetings, dearest reviewers,

I have a novel in the Magic Realism genre that I would like reviewed. It has been through a developmental review and copy edit and is ready for publication. Called On the Steps of St. Dymphna, it's a little over 60 thousand words.

On the Steps of St. Dymphna tells the tale of a disgruntled technology worker named John who has what he thinks is a spiritual experience, although he's not quite sure. He eventually meets a mysterious stranger named Allen who confirms his experience as a valid spiritual epiphany.

The story depicts the changes John goes through as a result of his experience, his transformation into a flamboyant transgendered punk rocker, and his search for a meaningful life outside the confines of corporate life. You can read more about it on my author website at https://tonygrocco.com/on-the-steps-o....

I need as many pre-publication reviews as possible and will be happy to send you a PDF of the book. Thanks much for your interest.

Best wishes,

Tony

Dawn Hill Publications (dawnhillpub) | 6 comments Hi everyone,

I'm Rahull, the director of Dawn Hill Publications! I am very interested in providing free copies of 'The Tech' by Mark Ravine to book reviewers in exchange for an honest review on Amazon and Goodreads!

Book Description:

Special Agent Alexandra Cassidy has made a career of disobeying orders, challenging bigwigs, and asking uncomfortable questions. What offends her superiors most is that her intolerable antics have earned her one of the best track records in the FBI.

It’s too bad, some cases are better left unsolved.

When Cassidy is transferred to the backwaters of Arizona she finds herself leading a crew with so many black marks on their records, it’s a miracle any of them remain employed.

Thankfully, their first case pretty much solves itself. But as Cassidy and her team continue throwing bad guys behind bars, a creeping sense of suspicion grows. The cases are easy, a little too easy, and troubling patterns become impossible to ignore.

Then things take a violent turn, and an elusive figure steps forward to help. But in a conspiracy big enough to topple kings, every player has an agenda—and misplaced trust will have devastating consequences.

There, at the axis of all things, is the Nebula. In it exists Elysia—home of those governing bodies of the galaxy. This star insignia represents in it the signs—Numani, the Goddess’s children—twelve kingdoms in four houses: Sol, Vale, Dao, and Élan. But there is still a sign that is missing…

Liv Evans (livevans) | 8 comments Hello all,

I am currently looking for reviewers for my novel, 'The Underground'. It is the first book in a dystopian trilogy full of cool powers and rebellion.

Synopsis:

"When freedom is a luxury, resistance is inevitable.”

The Government rule the Hub with an iron fist, their strict laws enforced by Derivates, humans with psionic abilities. When one of these Derivates flees her post, they send KC-847, a powerful telekinetic, to bring her back. However, KC-847 soon learns his team are unprepared for what they find in the tunnels, and the mission goes awry.

Flit, a plucky teleporter, works for the Underground resistance, the last refuge for Derivates wishing to live free of the Government’s control. On a routine security patrol, Flit comes across KC-847 and breaks all the rules to bring him back to the Underground.

However, KC-847’s arrival brings with it a string of deadly events that threaten the safety of the Underground. Convinced the incidents are more than unfortunate coincidences, Flit refuses to fall back on a false sense of security and drags KC-847 on an investigation that will change the trajectory of Derivate-kind forever.

For more information, you can check out my website: www.livevans.com.au

If you are interested, please let me know.

All the best,

Liv

Lianne Simon (liannesimon) | 11 comments Hi,

My novella Watercolor Memories should be released in August. It's a Young Adult/New Adult Fantasy with an intersex main character.

A year ago, Anya was a petite blonde. Now she's a tall and muscular redhead, playing soccer on a boys' team. Between her legs, she's not entirely female any longer. Anya paints to remember a home she's never seen, but her memories flow like the colors that run down her artwork. As she searches for a home, the world around her changes. How will she find her way?

P. Ely | 5 comments Hello everyone!

I'm looking for ARC reviewers for my latest romance novel; 'My Cowboy Ex-Husband' blurb and link below:

She swore she'd left her cowboy ex-husband and Starry Vale forever. Now she's going home to sell everything he loves about it.

When Grace left Starry Vale behind, she left a lifetime of broken promises and her marriage behind her. Seven years in the city have made her an entirely different woman, one going after that big promotion and happy to take on any project to get it. When asked to return home and look into the building of a new shopping center that'd bring some much needed life to the town at the cost of dozens of farms that've been in families for generations, she thinks she can handle it. What she can't handle is her ex-husband.

Nash Carson never left Starry Vale, he's dedicated seven years of his life to the ranch and worked too hard for it to fail now. But it's failing none the less. His only hope of keeping it in the family and a smile on his sisters face is finally making ends meet at the Summer Festival. He can't afford to let anything pull him off track.

Then Gracie comes home. His ex-wife, his sisters best friend, the woman that abandoned them both after their parents death. Maybe this is their second chance?

Or maybe she's here to destroy everything special about the town he loves.

A second chance, clean, contemporary, cowboy romance with a promised happy ending.

Zita Harrison (httpswwwzitaharrisoncom) | 41 comments Is there anyway to hold the people who offer to review your book accountable? I have two "reviewers" who read my book for free and never reviewed it despite repeated emails from me. I gave them three months before emailing them.

Hank Quense | 80 comments This is part of life as an author. Roughly half of the people who get a review copy of one of my books never write the review. There are two reasons for this. The first is that they never intended to write the review, they just wanted the free book. The second is they didn't like the book and don't want to write a negative review.
Still another possibility is that they don't know how to write a review

I know it sounds redundant: it is what it is Zita. There's no holding their feet to the fire. What really bothered me was taking the time and expense to buy and mail author copies to winners of my giveaways, and the recipient never left a review only to turn around and sell my book on eBay or Amazon. People can be selfish, thoughtless, greedy, empty vessels of gratitude. Just know that you're the "better" person in the exchange.
