I will. It's a group read for August in another group, but I don't think I can wait that long :)

I'm reading
which I am almost done with and know it's going to be at least 4 stars for me, and
which I have just started.
I have run out of cozies to read so I'm back to reading my Sherlockian book. I don't like the language which will earn him a poor star rating.

I really enjoyed it. I could never have done what she did. I think I would have given up after day one. I read they are going to make it into a movie.
No cozies at the moment. More hard-core stuff-- The Concrete Blonde
, One Shot
, and 11/22/63
. I guess this last isn't really a mystery but it feels like one where I'm at in the book because he's trying to change a history that is of course very familiar to me into something unknown.
I've just started
I loved the first two books in this series, this third book is supposed to be even better!

Sounds intriguing! And after seeing that Aaronovitch wrote several episodes of Doctor Who, I've put the first one,
on my tbr.

I'm about 2/3 through The Concrete Blonde and am thoroughly enjoying it although in its own way it's a time-travel exercise, because there have been so many Bosch's since.... I'm really liking 11/22/63 too, although I got yanked out of the story abruptly today by two anachronisms in the space of about 25 pages! Stevie, boy, where was your editor!?

I thought it was a really great book. And I stopped reading Stephen King years ago. Going back in time to change history is a concept that's been done before, but King does an excellent job, creating suspense and making us aware of all the details involved in such a plan.

Lately I've been downloading freebies for the Nook and Kindle apps. I have to admit there are a lot of freebie romances, but I have gotten a cozies, too. They've been filling my non-cozy time.
Chose "Captains Courageous" by Rudyard Kipling. Mysteries are my favorite but I like to "mix it up" a bit every now & then. I love sea adventures so I am looking forward to this.

I have to agree. I swore off Stephen King after
which I didn't like at all, but decided to try
and found that he's back on form. Very cleverly done and thoroughly enjoyable
FREE from Kindle ....TODAY ONLY....."BUYING TIME" by Kelly Cochran.
I enjoyed this #1 in a new series.
Looking forward to watching Aspen (lead female) evolve .
It's slow going, but I'm nearly finished with
. It is good, but I had to take a break with Agatha Raisin just to survive.
I just started
. I loved Garner in The Rockford Files, and my newspaper made his autobiography sound like an entertaining read.
I've been downloading freebies for the Nook and Kindle (PC apps) and have been wasting valuable cozy reading some of those offerings. The good thing is that they've offered some freebie cozies along with the ton of romance, erotica, thriller, fantasy/sci-fi, etc. The bad thing... Not all the cozies offered are firsts in a series and I like reading series from books one. I'm trying to get over that with the freebies because, well, they're free and because I don't want to invest in new-to-me series and wind up not liking them. If I can't find previous stories free (library, freebie, etc.), I will read what I have. It's not like I haven't read out of order before; it's just not my preference.
It took me about four hours to read Fahrenheit 451
yesterday. It's not usually my type of book, but a description of it got the best of my curiosity. It was a really good story!

It is one of the best examples of good scifi. You should check out the movie - really good too!

I'm just about to start Shadow Of The Serpent - it's Victorian Edinburgh, with a touch of Sherlock Holmes and the first in the series. I'm determined to finish all the books I downloaded last year, only about ten more to go, but I have been distracted a bit and read a few of this year's downloads too. Will have to add Fahrenheit 451to my list though, as I've been meaning to read it for ages.
The Study of Sherlock stories by a bunch of different authors.
I love anything Sherlock. My license plate is Sherlok. I think I need therapy
Just to update... the Shadow Of The Serpent is excellent so far.. but definitely not a cozy! I think the word 'bawdy' sums it up. Duffy, I just noticed Sonja's post... the Chaperone is by.... Moriaty!!

You are not alone. What is it about that character that is so appealing? Not just him, but everyone around him, Watson, Lastrade, Mrs. Hudson, etc.

I just started Summerland. I am used to light summer reads from this author. This one is a little dark though. I guess I should have read the description! :) Its a good book so far, but a difficult topic for a mother to read.
I'm listening to an entertaining mystery,
. Harold White, a new member of The Baker Street Irregulars, is searching for a missing diary of Arthur Conan Doyle. Alternating chapters tell the events of Conan Doyle's life during the diary's time frame. An intriguing book, with two separate mysteries.

I'm trying desperately to finish
before my F2F book club meeting on Friday! I've read it before, but it's been ages, so I need to reread the whole thing to be able to contribute to the discussion.

I did enjoy it. I usually don't read non fiction books. Let me know what you think of the book.
