The Girl On The Train. This is a great read. I barely put the book down as it sucks me into this story.

I have no idea where this is going--twists and turns like a snake with a bellyache."
That's one of very few of Coben's standalones that I liked. His standalones usually disappoint me to no end.
I am reading
Witch, a paranormal suspense, written by Barbara Michaels another pen name for Elizabeth Peters who wrote the Amelia Peabody cozy series.
I'm reading Amy Tan's "Saving Fish from Drowning" and enjoying it, especially her delightful, sly homor.
I'm reading Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. Laugh out loud funny, subversive, and so true in many way!
I am reading
to fulfill a book challenge. Very easy and humorous reading! It's written by a male author. The main character is male (which surprised me as the cover totally fooled me) who has had wedding troubles.
I am reading Miracle at Augusta which is really good and much different than what I usually read by James Patterson.
Reading the Camel Club by David Baldacci and listening to Echo Burning by Lee Child (I have a long drive)
I finished reading
, book 7 of the Genevieve Lenard mysteries. I love these books; it's detective work via computers.
I'm reading The Sugar Queen
. I'm enjoying it so far. I love how Sarah Addison Allen writes subtle magic into her books. I highly recommend Garden Spells.
I'm reading Pride and Prejudice
. I tried to read it in high school but stopped, then I tried to read it again a couple of years ago but stopped again. Third time seems to be the charm. I'm having a good time reading it this time.
I am working my way through Station Eleven right now. I have put it on hold for a while because I was cozy crazy. Does anyone else go through periods where they only read a certain genre? I am also trying to finish Dragonfly in Amber. This one is slow-going though
I have recently read the first two of the Not Quite Series by Catherine Bybee. I really enjoyed both. I will finish the series soon, but went on to Bayou Curse by Riley McKissack and also enjoyed it very Michael. I have decided on Legal Ease by Lori Ryan next.
I just finished reading a good cozy, The Gourmet Detective,
and I am continuing to read A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
. I'm enjoying the latter very much.

I loved Station Eleven and hope you do too!
I definitely go through phases. Right now I'm into 4 different series (2 mystery and 2 fantasy) and I really don't care about anything else :)

Tonight I will begin reading The Supremes At Earl's All-You-Can Eat by Edward Kelsey Moore. I've had this book in my TBR pile for quite some time, but have been consumed by reading cozies. I decided to switch up and read this well-reviewed piece of fiction.
Just finished reading
. This is the Patterson book I've ever read. I love the short chapter format but this was way too graphic for my taste although it was a good story. A friend of mine recommended the Women's Murder Club series. Still great writing but not at all as graphic as the Alex Cross novels. Looking forward to trying one of those.
I'm listening to James Pattetson's 2nd Chance the second woman's murder club book. I enjoyed both books I listened to in the car.
This section was What Are You Reading Besides A Cozy? If you skim when reading like I do, titles are easy to miss. The Woman's Murder Club (I believe that is what he calls it.) is a good female detective series that isn't too graphic in the violence, but I would not consider it a cozy.
Gail wrote: "I don't think of Patterson as a cozy. Am I wrong? ..."Patterson isn't cozy, but this is thread is called "What are you reading BESIDES a cozy".
I read Jennifer Estep's - Elemental Assassins which are great paranormal books with Gin as a strong woman character. Her 12th book just came out today.
I am reading the Alex series - Curse, Taken, Chosen, Hidden and Veiled by Benedict Jacka. Really intense and another author Simon R. Green with his Ghost Series.
Sherrie wrote: "I am reading the Alex series - Curse, Taken, Chosen, Hidden and Veiled by Benedict Jacka. Really intense and another author Simon R. Green with his Ghost Series."I've got a couple of the Jacka books around here. Love Simon Green's Nightside books.
Just finished reading A Dangerous Place by J. Winspear. First one I've read from this author and thoroughly enjoyed it.
I am reading At the Water's Edge by Sara Gruen who wrote Water for Elephants, I am really enjoying this book.
Finished At Water's Edge by Sara Gruen and it was a pleasure to read. A different time, a different and enchanting place and different classes of people some of whom are good, some bad, and some just ugly acting.
I am now reading A Touch of Stardust by Kate Alcott which takes place during the filming of GONE WITH THE WIND. Interesting insight to the golden age of Hollywood and its stars. Although fiction, the author has brought the characters to life. A fun read.
I just finished Thorn Jack by Katherine Harbour and am reading the second book that continues the story, Briar Queen. Fantastic!
I'm also reading "Boys in the Boat" by Daniel James Brown. It's about the 1936 Men's Olympic rowing team that won the gold medal in Hitler's Germany.

Debbie: Me either! Reading it as part of the 'One Maryland, One Book' program through my library. Also reading 'Just Add Salt' by Jinx Schwartz.
Read the first two Stephanie Plum books by Evanovich..& that's enough for me! I am not a fan of that series but am open to reading other books by her.
Currently reading "Ghost Train to the Eastern Star", by Paul Theroux, an excellent travel book about an overland (mostly train) journey through Europe and Asia. Very evocative.
