Disappointed about Eragon and Arya?

And, naturally, because i sensed and read that nothing will really happen between Eragon and Arya for now and they kind of started to annoy me [i had so much hope about them initially and yet they got crushed everytime poor Eragon got interrupted in the middle of his confessions :)) which amused me a little as well] i put the rest of my hope in a possible Murtagh-Nasuada relationship which was lovely developped during the prison chapters and made the chapters seem too short!
But then again, Murtagh runs off with Thorn... dammit, if not, they deserved to kiss, after the hardships they went through :( Because of Murtagh's past, I actually enjoyed them more (in the end) than the arya-eragon thingy. It would have been so much worse if the femeale characters would have simply fallen into the arms of the protagonist, so yeah, a big no-no to that. Maybe in the end arya's decision was better, for until eragon gets more mature and unless, in the meantime, a cute elf steals Arya's heart, but... dammit Chris! They should have... done... something... a long embrace, tears, anything!! Now I wish for more Murtagh ;)) a murtagh trying to redeem himself, and a good portion of humour springing from this, without necessarily making him look like a fool or anything!
Also, Thorn seems a pretty cool lad. Murtagh mentioned his dragon never gave in to Galbatorix's tricks, which is something i started to admire right away, and that he, as a rider, was the weaker one.
[btw, roran and katrina didn't really complement the absence of a more lovely couple, thought Saphira and Firnen might have straightened out the edges a bit]

Yeah I agree that's supper annoying and your comment before is valid too. the fact that Murtahg and Nasuada aren't together dives me crazy!

Think buddy they both were having a huge responsibility and it was difficult for both of them to leave each other but they didn't have a choice. And Arya said she will join him once the dragon riders will be able to keep the peace. Which would be easily possible in next 50-100 years and then they must have gotten together. As far as Murtaugh is concerned if a egg hatches for nasuda they can get together any time. For their life of thousand years being apart for 100 years is no big deal.

and also Murtagh and Nasuada. That just broke my heart!"

Murtagh+Nasuada
New characters
Eragon and Arya
ANGELA
Naegling
Brom's seven-word blessing
Belt of Beloth the Wise
Possibly unnamed shadow
"No comment" on Arya and Murtagh going to the Riders
Eragon's return

" Arya," he said. And he whispered her true name. A tremor of recognition ran through her.
She whispered his true name in response, and he too shivered at hearing fullness of his beings.
Both looked each other in the eye, Eragon admiring her beauty. As he leans closer to Arya, she hesitates wether she should kiss him or not. Eragon realizing that she is uncomfortable, backs off blushing in embarrassment.
As soon as he backs away Arya pulls him back in by his cloak and kisses him on the lips, with the full knowledge that she had done something wrong. Both blushing as they backed off and stand in silence (Book continuos)
My notes:
- I know it's totally not in Arya's personality to kiss Eragon and I agree that paolini's ending was right but we all wanted to see them kiss at some point is don't blame me.
- and as for Arya: zero fox given

It renders that plot element useless and really confusing. Another thing: I would have been so happy if SOMEONE'S relationship went well- relationships that began NOT before the series had started. I wanted Sapphira to have an egg, also. The relationships seemed promising and took up a lot of pages. Then nothing happened. It's not just something that makes readers mad; it's literally a horrible writing choice. It's not just us; it's actually him.

I can see that backfiring somehow, and being an interesting read.

Cant wait for the new one he promised he would write

I can't wait either. I need to get closure.

guess it pushed them farther apart

when Glenwing died i think that is what prevented that possible
future

Same feeling for me. At first I felt badly for the ending between Eragon and Arya, but as the years were passing by, i think it was better that it has ended this way.
Arya isn't a young teenager. She has passed by a lot of sufferings, like Faollin's death, Durza's prision and have many duties to the Elf people and the riders since she was a child.
Although Eragon was a simple teenager early in the first book, he has passed by many events during his adventures that make him strong, experienced and mature person. But he's still young in terms of age.
I think that both should mature in the next book. Arya needs to forgive herself and Eragon still needs to grow his mind. Their relationship will go on!

Think about how old Arya is compared to Eragon imagine a 100 yrold going out with a 18yrold

I don't think Arya ever really got over loosing Faolin (from book 3) her romantic confident in the battle of the burning plains .
Eragon was a admirable warrior but he never did connect with her like Faolin . Maybe because Eragon was not a full blooded elf .
I always thought Eragon should have a romance with a human female . . . In another book Paolini can describe their post Galbatorix lives .

Well, she kissed him on the forehead once."
Uh-huh . The sparks just weren't there .

I really enjoyed the inheritance cycle and if you hate Christopher Paolini Than I hate you!

That would mean Arya had to give up her chance to follow in Queen Izlandi's footsteps and sit on the Elfin throne .

Hell no. WTF are you thinking? Any human would die way before Eragon does, so he would keep remarrying, plus, Eragon asks her, '"What will become of us?". Arya replies "I don't know... Once, as you know, I would have said 'nothing', but... Again, you are still young, and humans often change their minds. In ten years, or even five, you may no longer feel as you now do." Eragon declares his feelings will never cease, so Arya says "If they don't, then... perhaps in time..."
Arya is the only one for him. He legit says that and besides, Arya can't keep the throne long, as she is a Dragon Rider and they shouldn't be in positions of power like that.
