Striving for Check/Book Balance [2012 Challenge]
I liked it better than the second book and as usual with Dahl, it was very hot. I think though that unless you put yourself in the heroine's shoes, she can be difficult to understand and her issues may seem trivial and/or silly. She has some stupid prejudices that she acknowledges but that she has trouble getting rid of and that can be difficult to take.
I could relate to her because something that happened to her also happened to me (the brother in jail part) so I really know where she was coming from. The book also had an original take on 'traumatic childhood' (something I've never seen in romance.)

Oh, this will be an interesting experiment for me!! While I was working at the bookstore, I would have never tried this. Always buying faster than I could read back then! I've accumulated a huge TBR pile over the years! :)2012 Striving for Check/Book Balance Challenge

I'm more concerned about ebooks I paid money for and print books. I'll count audiobooks that I paid for too. I don't care how many freebies I pile up on my Kindle. 2012 Striving for Check/Book Balance Challenge

LOL, I try. It's easy enough right now cause everything's still new to me. I've only been "actively" reading for a short while. :)
Julianne - how did you like both the "House of Comarre" series and the "Blue Blood" series? I have heard mixed reviews on the "Blue Bloods". So, I have been leery to try to them.
It was ok. I don't know. I liked it but it was like it couldn't decide what kind of book it was going to be. 1st it was kids in a magical college and then it's young adults living wild in the city and then it's young adults going to a fantasy world.

Oh...that is sooooo misleading...I DID purchase a couple...just haven't read them yet! OMG...I just checked the new special shelf for 2012 purchases...a couple! 19! Though a few of those are pre-orders...how DID that happen?
Thanks, Lady Jaye. So far, so good, but there's going to be new releases soon from some of my fav authors that I won't be able to resist. :)

By the third one it became a little epic but that was where I really fell in love with the series.
AS for Blue Bloods, I loved it from the get go, I loved the detail and the backstory that she put into it, and the mystery as it unfolds. Around the 4th book I felt like things were taking a little long to happen, but then in 5 and 6 I was loving it again. And it has a more mature feel than many YA books do.

I'm glad to hear you like the House of Comarre. I bought the books simply because I loved the covers and was just hoping the stories inside were good, too.

Ok, so I've gotten confused. Which way is the / \ supposed to lean. Towards the big number, 1/5..... or away from the big number 1\5..... I think I'm doing it wrong....
