On goodreads you make a challenge for your self by setting up a certain amount of books you want to finish that year. I found good reads in June so my goal was 30. I am a few books away! So excited!

So for the 2012 Personal Challenge, we would like challenge our members with posting their amount of books they would like to finish by the end of 2012 year!

Add it up to the official GoodReads challenge as well!

Click here to add in your books!

Best Wishes
xx

Matthew (swint) I'm going to try for 52 for 2012, as well. I've already made a list and populated it with titles I plan to read over the course of the year. I had seen Ciska's post about her 2012 reading challenge yesterday or the day before and it sounded like a really swell idea, so I took some time to build my own list.

For my list, I decided I wanted to read at least one full series from a single author, at least five different books from at least five different genres, complete five reading challenges from groups here on Goodreads and then fill in the rest with books I have waiting in my library.

Progress: 9/52
See my "Read In 2012" shelf here

message 7: by Matthew (new)

Matthew (swint) I will! I had actually tried to do that yesterday and messed it all up and lost what I had typed. I had created the list in Evernote so I could keep track of it and edit from any of my neat little electronic devices or my computer and had copied and pasted it into one of these comment boxes here and had to go through and reformat so it looked nice once I posted. I suppose I had pressed a button I shouldn't have and ended up clearing the comment box with all my reformatting edits. :\

I'll try to get it posted later this evening after I get home from work.

Maybe one day I'll have the kind of time to read that many books in a year. As it is, between work and anything that needs accomplished in my personal time, time I can spend reading is somewhat scarce. I thought 50 books in a year would be pushing the limits for me. I can't imagine trying to fit 100/125 in.

I'm just a quick reader plus I've found since joining challenges on here I'm reading more & not watching so much TV.

You must! That's a few books per week. I wish I had the time to read like that. There are so many books I want to read and not enough time to read them. Good luck on your challenge. I hope you can get all 125!

Jessa (ufeelcrunchy) I'm going with 52. 1 a week.

Let's hope for the best! I originally had 50 for this year but I did English at the start of the year and that took up so much time so I halved in March knowing I wouldn't be able to put the time in! (Next year I'll also have 5 month long summer break!)

Good luck everyone!

message 49: by Sally (last edited Apr 06, 2012 09:42PM) (new)

Sally (salgalruns) I'm going to go with 30 50. I am a reading fiend during school breaks, but other than that, it's a challenge. (My school breaks are only 1 1/2 weeks at Christmas, 1 week at Easter, and July. A principal's work is apparently never done!)

I'm also committing myself to some pretty long books this year (thanks to everyone telling me I need to get moving on Game of Thrones). I LOVE the idea of keeping a book list. I'll create a shelf on my iBooks and store the 2012 stories that I've read.

UPDATE 4/6/12 - Added an additional 20, as I'm adding audiobooks into the mix. I spend about 35 minutes uninterupted each way to and from work (70 min total) so that adds up pretty quickly. We'll see how it goes! PLUS - I'm going on an amazing trip to Europe this summer. While I want to take in the sights (of course), the flight will give me some GREAT reading time! :)
