Love tattered books, but, yeah, a drag to drag around. But worth the feel of a real book?
Graves pomes recall are war pomes - and WWOne - so not sure how appealing to you. But its poignancy for me is timeless.
But do try his Greek Gods and Heroes, Greek Myths, I, Claudius.
If you can continue in the Greek a la mode - dont miss Odysseus!!!!!
Usually goes with Iliad.

I love Seigfried Sassoon so this should be fun :)

Are you looking at a book full of poems or just a book with a bit of poems in between a story?
I would recommend any of the books by RM Drake if you are looking for just a book full of poems. If you prefer a book with some poems in between the story, "The Peculiar Life of a Lonely Postman" by Denis Thériault is good. I am currently reading the sequel. :)
Hope these help.

Thanks for both recommendations, i will look at them.
I am not really sure what i am looking for to be honest. just thought it was time i tried picking up poetry instead of shutting it out completely.

I really enjoyed The War Poems. I did not use to enjoy poetry but I decided to give this one a shot. Next thing I knew... wow...
Seigfried Sassoon is absolutely amazing

My mom just got me two of Robert Grave's books so I'm planning to read those next after I finish Skin and Other Stories

The synopsis reads, "Pack of Lies traces anti-hero Bob Nolan's ongoing pursuit of MH370 in Pakistan where Osama bin Laden's lost years and Iran's desire to steal Pakistan nukes entrap him. Nolan escapes to Sri Lanka where his lover and senior spy in China's MSS exacts revenge against his ex-CIA colleagues."
Singaporeans looking for even more local content should start with the first book in the Lies series, Sea of Lies. Both books are featured in Goodreads, and available from Amazon US and UK in eBook or paperback.

Just completed "The Terror" by Dan Simmons, historical fiction based on John Franklin's lost expedition to find the Northwest Passage in 1845. Currently there is a TV series of the same name airing on AMC.

Anyone wants to be friends do add me. Want to talk and meet up if u like.

Now going to read The Orphan Keeper by Camron Wright

4th non-fiction book.

Well, I have managed to find excuses to read, or at least listen to good audiobooks over the years...
Currently just finished Listening to the audiobook "Oathbringer" by Brandon Sanderson 2 days ago and looking forward for more to complete my 30 books in the year of 2018.

Now reading " City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare. " Book 5 of The Mortal Instruments Series. I am lost what happened in the last 4 books too. The last book I read was in 2013. That was 5 years ago!! Looking forward to it.

I ordered this novel and going to read it now. " The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas". No paperback at nlb. Heard it's the best book of 2017. Can't wait to read it !!

Now going to read " The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss ". Fantasy novel! Been a long time since I last read a fantasy book.

I wish Game of Thrones is like this since I will read it this year.
Now going to read " The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons ".

Love Margaret Atwood's books so much especially these two and The Robber Bride

To kick things off, I just finished Mitchell's [boo..."
I just finished the Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb and it was so good I can't wait to start on the Liveship Trilogy.

Now reading "The Cruel Prince by Holly Black".

As far as historical biographies go, it's a great introduction to some of the history of Singapore and the surrounding regions. Glendinning provides plenty of background information, ensuring you get a good feel for what life was like way back then. She clearly enjoyed her topic, and my favourite line has to be her comment: "Be careful what you wish for"!
There were two aspects to the book which really hooked me in: (1) material on Raffles' interesting wives and family life was included - some of it intriguing, some of it indescribably sad; (2) a blow-by-blow account of Raffles' unhappy and often petty relationship with the Resident, William Farquhar.
All in all, I'm not very taken with Raffles, however much he has been lauded. He did some undeniably admirable things, but also is something of a disappointment, especially in light of the Farquhar fiasco.
This book is much more than a biography. Read it! You won't be disappointed!!

Nope, doesn't work for me. I know that Dawkins is an authoritative figure in the field of evolution, but I just can't get into this book. Why? I'm going to make a topic to explain.
P.S. this is my first post in the Goodreads forums. Nice to meet you all :)))))

I loved the Iliad! How are you getting on with it? Try Robert Gra..."
Just finished HWSG so I'm planning to focus more on the Iliad now. Sadly, my edition came in a big fat book (old and falling apart) so no reading in class...
I will give Robert Graves a shot- do you have any recommendations for any book/poem I should try out first?
