So, I started like, the first page of Fellowship of the Ring, and I actually am already drawn into this book and it was only a poem!

message 1512: by Sakina (new)

Sakina I want to read Lord Of the Rings because I love the movies. But since I have seen the movies I know what happens so reading the book doesn't seem as exciting.

message 1513: by Renee, ADRIAN FANATIC!! (new)

Renee | 5359 comments Mod
well, I kinda made a promise to myself.

message 1514: by Binari (new)

Binari I haven't watched any of the Lord of the Rings movies or read the books. Is that bad?

message 1515: by Renee, ADRIAN FANATIC!! (new)

Renee | 5359 comments Mod
no, but I I want to read them so I can get Literature and Music and Media inspiration.

Miss.Zizi(happily married to Adrian Ivashkov) (missZIZI) | 55 comments I'm reading nothing right now.

Well,except geometry.*crys*

oh no! Poor thing! How about reading a really short book that you can read a few pages of each night just to keep you in the habbit? *sends virtual hug* I know the feeling of not being able to read. It hurts doesn't it? Like being lost!

message 1518: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 39 comments I tried reading The Hobbit when I was 11 or 12 and couldn't get into it. 11 years later and I haven't tried to read it again since. Im determined to one day though. There are just more pressing books to read first.

message 1519: by Renee, ADRIAN FANATIC!! (new)

Renee | 5359 comments Mod
yeah I understand what you mean. I got the Hobbit when I was 12 and only read it in January, 5 years later!

message 1520: by Shahira (new)

Shahira | 55 comments I FINALLY finished the last book in the Daughter of Smoke and Bone Trilogy and now reading Crown of Midnight, the 2nd book in the Throne of Glass Trilogy :)

message 1521: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 39 comments So I finished Insurgent and I'm 150 pages into Allegiant and all I'm gunna say is that Veronica Roth is pure genius. It was something like I suspected, but so much more genius. I just don't want to get to the end so I don't have to deal with that "shock" that everyone talks about. Then again, I watched the finale of How I Met Your Mother last night and I didn't hate it like most people, do I guess we'll see how I go.

Renee | 5359 comments Mod
Good luck Jamie! And I'm glad you are liking it. I loved it too, but there are people who didn't like it. But I think they get caught up in the characters rather than the story.

I am still reading Lord of the Rings, although I should have more time to finish it now. :D

*hugs back* yeah I'd started Strange Angels and I just wasn't able to follow the story line. Dru was way too serious for my taste. And she thought too much.So I didn't finish it.

I actually read The Course of True Love(Bane chronicles) two weeks ago.So short but perfect.

When I was reading Lord of the Rings I read it for two or three months! But everything got exciting in The Return of the King and I finished it in two days.

message 1524: by Renee, ADRIAN FANATIC!! (new)

Renee | 5359 comments Mod
ha ha, well now I'm excited. I finally have more time to read it. :D

message 1525: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 39 comments I'm glad you have more time to get though LotR. I'll get around to it eventually :p I need to re-read Gameboard of the Gods before the end of the month and re-read the Bloodlines series before the end of July for the new releases. I also need to read TFIOS before the film is released here. I just wish I had more time for recreational Reading, as well as all the other things I want to do :(

message 1526: by Renee, ADRIAN FANATIC!! (new)

Renee | 5359 comments Mod
ha ha, have fun reading!

message 1527: by Sakina (new)

Sakina I just finished reading TFIOS. I had known before reading this book that Augustus Waters dies, so I had told myself that I am not going to read a book where the main character dies. I mean it would be such a sad book. So I just ignored the book while other's around me gushed about how amazing this book was.
But then I saw that trailer and I was like shit I need to see this movie. At that let me tell you I didn't not know that is not releasing in India (I live in India). But anyways so I was oblivious to this fact and I thought that if I want to watch the movie I have to first read the book. So I bought it and finally today read it.
I knew Augustus dies so I thought I might be better prepared but I was wrong. I cried and kept wishing that maybe he survives, that what I had heard was a joke. But it wasn't.
But I was really glad to have read this book!! Hopefully I will watch the movie online :)

message 1528: by Renee, ADRIAN FANATIC!! (new)

Renee | 5359 comments Mod
YEP! NOW YOU KNOW ABOUT THE FEELS!!!!

(But I'm glad you enjoyed it! It's so funny before it gets sad and soooo cute!)

aw that sucks it doesn't come out in India. :(
I condone the watching online for you because it's not in your country. :)

message 1529: by Sakina (new)

Sakina Yeah I'll have to do that, but even then i'll have to wait till the movie releases everywhere and then probably another month or so if I need a clear rip of the film. Ugh!! this is so frustrating!!

message 1530: by Renee, ADRIAN FANATIC!! (new)

Renee | 5359 comments Mod
uh yeah, well just think, you'l get to see it eventually!

Renee | 5359 comments Mod
and yet I'm still halfway through Lord of the Rings. Taken me a week so far so I think it'll be a two week read? Wow,I never take that long to read a book! :O

message 1534: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 39 comments Im another 100 pages (380) into Allegiant, thanks to my train trip today :)

message 1535: by Renee, ADRIAN FANATIC!! (new)

Renee | 5359 comments Mod
yay! oh god, you need tissues very soon....

message 1536: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 39 comments Don't tell me that!!! Hahaha. I probably won't get another chance to read it until my train trip next Tuesday (lol) so maybe I should pack some tissues, just in case? I should be able to read another 100 or so pages then aswell.

In other news, I'm feeling extra behind in the Bloodlines series now that Richelle had released the first chapter excerpt for Silver Shadows. I haven't even read The Fiery Heart yet and I don't really remember the previous books well :/

By the end of this month, I would have love to have finished Allegiant, re-read Gameboard of the Gods (seeing as the next one comes out on the 29th), and read The Fault In Our Stars. At least. All of my major assignments will have been completed and submitted two weeks from tomorrow (Thursday) so I'll have about a week to read recreationally before I'll have to start studying for my end of semester exams.

message 1537: by Renee, ADRIAN FANATIC!! (new)

Renee | 5359 comments Mod
yes you should pack tissues for that day.

oh god, I know right? Such a busy two months!

You have time to read The Fiery Heart before the end of July, so yes catch up on GOG and TFIOS.

I also want to re-read bloodlines, tgl, tis and tfh before silver shadows is released.
