Delirium? It's quite popular and similar to Matched.

Christine | 147 comments I recommend reading the Maximum Ride series by James Patterson. The final book was just released August 6th. It is very kick-butt, action, and an awesome female heroine. The first few books are without romance. If you don't like that, probably stop reading around the fourth or fifth book. If you do, IT MAKES A GREAT ROMANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the first book (which I love): The Angel Experiment (Maximum Ride, #1) by James Patterson My favorite is probably the second book School's Out—Forever. I HIGHLY recommend it!

Im almost done with it and its as good as they say. I have read Half-Blood by this same Author.
I recomend that one fully as well Half-Blood (Covenant, #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout is a mixture between Vampire Academy and Percy Jackson. Its about demi-gods at a school training to kick the buts of blood sucking monsters. Some of the Demi's are Half-Bloods these are the ones that are trained to protect and fight and basicly be soilders the Pures are the Elite. Its good action and also has a likeable love story IMO.

I will go out and say I am not a teenage girl nor do I like One Direction or Justin Bieber (I have nothing against them, just not a fan). and ABSOLUTELY LOVE the LUX books. I've ready Jennifer Armentrout's other series Covenant in a week and am currently eating up the Third book to Lux as we speak. They are funny and fast paced. The male characters are always swoon worthy and thought out and you don't want to punch the female heroins in the face. You actually like them and can relate (at least I find that).

If you are torn with whether or not you want to commit, download a sample and see what you think. But I have a feeling you'll love them. I can say that I will read anything Jennifer Armentrout puts out now after experiencing her first 2 series.

Bess (Neli) | 29 comments The Indigo Spell (Bloodlines, #3) by Richelle Mead - I'm actually really liking this spin off series from the Vampire Academy series. The indigo spell is the third book so far, looking forward to the next installment.

Megan Thomason | 2 comments Okay so I'm very new to groups on goodreads, so forgive me if I'm posting this in the wrong place.. But I have a bit of a problem. I've been on a book buying spree lately, and I can't wait to read them all, except.. I have no idea where to start. Not sure what mood I'm in. Here are a few of the books I have yet to read: Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout, City of Bones by Cassandra Clare, Delirium by Lauren Oliver, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson, and Birthmarked by Caragh M. O'Brien. Where do I start?! Ugh.

message 78: by Kate (new)

Kate (kateroonie) | 41 comments OMG! I love most of those- Obsidian was really funny and witty but swoony and romantic, city of bones was kick ass and complicated but entertaining, Delirium was sweet and more of a dystopian novel and the rest I haven't read but have heard good stuff about them
I'd read them in the order you've listed them :D
Hope I helped

It really depends on what you're in the mood for I think. I've read all the books you have your list besides Delirium and they all are GREAT! So I can definitely see your dilemma.
This is what I think:
If you want to be up to date on the City Of Bones movie that's coming out, I'd read that first. I love Cassandra Clare and all the Mortal Instruments books. (there are a lot).

If you want a really great fast read and a hot man along the way, I'd read Obsidian. Absolutely with out a doubt Armentrout is one of my favorite YA authors to date! This series will go by REALLY fast. And maybe start with the prequel (Shadows) before you start Obsidian. It's only 100 pages or so and explains some things in the first book that you'd otherwise not know. Not to add more to your list but you should definitely put the Covenant books by Armentrout on there as well. REALLY good!

If you want something more serious, and kinda gruesome, read Dragon Tattoo. This book is suspenseful and is NOT for the younger kids. Very graphic and disturbing situations in this one. If you're in the mood for a disquieting mystery this is your book.

If you want something lighter than Dragon Tattoo but with still serious content you should read Birthmarked. I'm sure from the description of this book you can tell the sort of mood you're going to be entering. Dystopian future, woman placed in roles that serve the greater good of the population...stuff like that. It's definitely a good read though.

So those are my thoughts. Hopefully that helps a little :)

Yvonne (umeboshi) | 14 comments I'm in the mood for historical or historical fantasy at the moment and would love some suggestions. A recent fave has been the Diviners by Libba Bray. I've been less fussed on offerings like Venom by Fiona Paul. Any time period is fine (I do have a soft spot for the 1700 - 1800s). Thanks!

I'd recommend Chime by Franny Billingsley

message 82: by Eliza (new)

Eliza Tilton @Yvonne if you haven't read Grave Mercy, try that. It's a bit slow at first, but the pace really picks up. Wonderful read. I'd also recommend Between Shades of Grey, Passion Blue and Luxe.

Have you read Libba Bray's Gemma Doyle Trilogy? It's a really good serious. Also, Suzanne Dunlap writes good YA historical fiction. Hopes this helps! I love historical fiction and fantasy as well.

Angela Sunshine (angelasunshine) I also really liked Fallen Grace by Mary Hooper. It's one I happened across on audio and thought it was really well written. It's set in Victorian London.

message 93: by Julia (new)

Julia | 432 comments Brianna and Marie, if you're looking for historical fantasy try The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wecker . It just came out and is very, very good, however it's not YA. It's set in New York City in 1899.

message 94: by Christine (new)

Christine | 147 comments I only read YA. It's not really appropriate for me to read adult.

message 95: by Sydney (new)

Sydney | 2 comments I'd recommend the mortal instruments series if you haven't read it yet. The unearthly series by Cynthia Hand or Angelfall by Susan ee. All great books!

message 96: by Julia (new)

Julia | 432 comments I should have been more clear, Marie. The Golem and the Jinni is adult because it's literary fiction, historical fantasy and on the dense side, not because of sex or language or anything else.
