M. (meddiemc) May be jumping the gun by starting a hello thread, but what the heck. ;-)

Hi, I'm Ed, and I'm a writer. It has been four days since my last...whoops, wrong meeting.

message 2: by Anthony (new)

Anthony Bellaleigh (anthonybellaleigh) Hi Ed, I'm Anthony and I should be writing but instead I'm messing around in here... :)

T.K. Geering (flowingwithgo) | 100 comments Hi Ed, Anthony, and Tim of course. It's always good to meet other folk on here. Shasta Summer is now standing at platform #1 in The Best Time Travel Romance.:-)

T.K. Geering (flowingwithgo) | 100 comments Hi Maria
Have you done the synopsis yet? If so have another read through. Then make a list of all that springs to mind. Walk away from it and then at some point go back and see what hits you most. I bet you come up with something.
I don't know if that helps?
Teresa (Tee)

Good morning, Maria, Sandy, Cesar, Teresa, Anthony, and M. It's great to see you all here. If you haven't already, be sure to direct message me so that you can get into the que for the free publicity of an interview at http://www.TimGreatonForum.blogspot.com

Today's interview is with Kellianne Sweeney, and she did a great job.

You're all also welcome to friend me here on Goodreads and at Facebook "Tim Greaton" and in three locations on Twitter: @TimGreaton, @TimGreatonForum, & @Zachary_Pill . I look forward to our ongoing discussions and the strength (and sales) we all gain as a group.

Rick, I hope the busiest man in the threads is doing well (and that you have found a new and better position than the one those nimwits made you feel forced to leave recently) :-)

I am Bryden, and I too, am an author! How are we all??

message 18: by Norma (new)

Norma Budden (normabudden) Hello everyone! I guess you can say I'm the new kid on the block. :) I thought it about time I joined a group or two to give my mind a break and to meet a few new folks. After all, it never hurts to take a little break from writing and promoting. Hope everyone has a blessed day.

Drake RC (rcdrake) | 3 comments It is nice to see we have a few comedians in the group. Hello everyone, I'm Rhonda (Author name: R. C. Drake). Thank you for a discussion thread here on Goodreads Tim, where DO you find the time. I would also like to invite everyone here to join us over on Amazon @ our friendly thread there, "Welcome Readers to our Writers Corner #4," lovingly called, "The Corner." We chat and exchange ideas there as well. You can also post your books, and your book video trailers at my website, it is free: www.thewarriorsdragon.webs.com

Hope to see you there! Rhonda

Hi Tim
We did talk about an interview way back but I thought you had maybe forgotten :)
Can I join the queue please. Shasta Summer is #1 on The Best Time Travel Romance. I know I'm becoming boring now but I still can't get my head round it.
Tee

Thanks for the invitation to join your group.

message 23: by Lori (new)

Lori Otto (lori_otto) | 1 comments Hi, Tim! Thanks for the invite!

I'm Lori, and I'm the author of the Emi Lost & Found series– a 3-book series with an identity crisis, I fear. Is it women's fiction? Romance? Contemporary fiction? I can't seem to find the right genre, audience.

It's exciting to be among so many other like-minded people! Looking forward to gaining some insight!

Now stop reading and start writing!! (That direction is to myself, but I thought others might be able to use a push.)

message 24: by Martha (new)

Martha Rodriguez (martharodriguezauthor) | 5 comments Hi everyone,
I'm Martha and I have recently self-published a children's picture book titled A Reel Cool Summer. I'm working on a second book featuring the same characters which also happen to be based on my own children.

Thanks for inviting me, Tim. I look forward to the discussion here and I always look forward to Tim's interviews on his blog!

C.S. Yelle (csyelle) | 41 comments Good Afternoon Tim and everyone.
Tim, thanks for the invite. My novel, Reclaiming Ter Chadain (pronounced Tare Shadane) is published by A-Argus Enterprises, a small press. It has been out since early May and continues to get good reviews.
From looking at the people above, I am in very good company and look forward to some great discussions. I'm currently working feverishly on my second book in the series and hope to have that out early next year, "if God is willing and the creek don't rise".

Again, Thanks for inviting me and greetings.

Marla Blowers Rhonda,
I'm a little confused. Somehow I'm now a moderator at your site I just signed up for. lol Feel free to leave it if you wish but not sure what I can do to help. Maybe everyone shows as a moderator when they first join I don't know. Thanks for the confidence though.

Put the name of your main character on it as a working title and don't think about it. Titles are shy and easily frightened, so the best thing to do is not look for them. One will suddenly decide the story is a perfect fit and tap you on the shoulder.

Hi, Tee. I remember and apologize that I haven't contacted everyone yet, but email me directly at tim@greateastdevelopment.net and you automatically move to the front of the line (patience pays off :-))

Sharon Reddy | 11 comments Oops, forgot the intro. I'm the radical avant-garde science fiction author you haven't heard about, but I'm working on that. *grin* I've been doing this 20 years, but just started publishing again in May, after a long writing break. I have a lot of books published.

Thanks, everyone, for being here. I've had this thought for a long time that our strength as authors should come from our numbers and our common goals. I also know that readers really do enjoy talking with authors they like and respect. So I'm hoping we get a good mix here. As most of you know, I'm game for all types of networking but I'm a little short of time and technical knowledge, so if you're showing up as moderators here, please know I have no idea why but you're welcome to moderate all you want. My goal is that we are friends first, partners second, and that everyone shares openly so that we all might reach more readers and achieve the big goals.

message 41: by Norma (new)

Norma Budden (normabudden) I'm unsure if we can begin new threads or not; if so, please direct me but I'm interested in giving away 5 copies of my book, An Affair To Remember, in hopes of getting feedback and/or reviews. Is this the place to do that or should I post this request elsewhere?

Ever curious and hopeful...

Edwin wrote: "Hello, Hello... Seems this is where the action is about to spring up... (grabs a bucket of popcorn and waits for the meaningful discussions to begin)"

Edwin is the first to mention "meaningful discussions," and I'd like to be the first to say that I'm happy to do reviews for anyone in the group (and I know many of you have already done reviews for me-Thank You). As with all things Tim lately, my TBR list is very long but I'm getting those reads and reviews back as fast as I can. I'm currently reading "The Naked Room" by Diana Hockley. It's a fascinating read in that she has a first person point of view moving around a dozen characters, most everyone except the antagonist. I'm enjoying the story quite a bit.

If any of you are thinking of hiring a book trailer to be created, Rob Ellis is a filmmaker who does amazing work, as evidenced by my "Under-Heaven" trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z05VBz... Shirley Hicks also does great work (if we can all convince her to accept a fair payment :-)

Maria, have you come up with a title yet? If not, give me an idea of your story line and I may be able to help. All the best! Norma

I was going to go through and welcome everyone, individually, but my comments are already filling the thread...so let me just say that I see all of you and I'm really glad that you've chosen to share time and attention with us :-)

mountainmama (jcallenbooks) | 29 comments Har har, Tim! I'll help anyone who'd like to make a do-it-yourself type trailer. I cannot compete with the graphics and special effects that Rob Ellis uses, but if your budget is tight (like ZERO), I can help you make one. Here's the latest I helped a friend make: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DzQKae...

Let me also add one last thing, you are all welcome to promote here with no limits. I want to see your book posts, your reviews, your blog announcements, your book trailers...and for readers we really want to hear your thoughts and ideas about everything. I will be reading every comment (which I don't usually have time to do on all threads) so don't worry that you're being lost in the shuffle. If anyone is aware of Goodreads themselves put limits on us promoting inside threads, please let me know and we'll allow whatever we can :-)

Cesar, if you want to reach me quickly and get the fastest response, you are ALL welcome to email me at tim@greateastdevelopment.net. That is also where I need requests for interviews so that I can move them into the www.TimGreatonForum.blogspot.net que :-)

For those of you that don't know, I'm a full-time corporate writer and novelist. I work from my home in Southern Maine and am reachable most of the time, unless I have a deadline and shut phone lines and email boxes off. It happens but only for a few hours and not often :-)
