Romance Readers Reading Challenges discussion
Introduce Yourself

Just joined? Drop in and say Hi!

I believe the SRC is something like Serial Reading Challenge in another group. I have no idea what JRC is though :)

JRC is a new one to me (although that is my companies initials - haha!)

Welcome to the group Michelle :) As Kat said, these challenges are great for organising what to read next, but also seeing what everyone else is reading and their reactions etc. Enjoy!

Nearly had it! (SRC acronym ;)

Hi Olamide - I'm going to have to delete your post. This post should be put into the Self Promo folder here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...

Welcome Victoria! LOL - I think to read romance you have to be happy reading a heap of overly done cliches! It's all in the finese of them ;)

Do you have a fave book you've discovered so far?"
Ohh I can't think of one on the top of my head but Beautiful Disaster was one of the first ones I read and fell for hard :)

Haha here's hoping xD

Thank you!

Haha I agree! They just wouldn't be complete without them ;)

I just wanted to introduce myself, I'm Raeyne. I joined this group to get a broader collection of romance started for those long winter weekends where I'm more than sure I'll be snowed in! I'm also going to be starting up a review blog at the beginning of the new year, so I'm looking for some great (or not so great) literature to mull over!

Welcome the the group Ana :) You are in good company!

My phone posted without permission!!!
Anyway - welcome to the group Shane. I'm sure we can help you get stuck into some challenges ;)

Welcome Katalin! Hope you find plenty of new reading materials here :)

Right! It doesn't have to be something non fiction and not interested to you but any kind of fiction to get the mind thinking is better than watching reality t.v that's really fake

Hope my portuguese and spanish books can also be used for that...
Kisses.

For your Portuguese and Spanish books, just post the English GR version so that we can see that they fit the category - if they haven't been translated, check with the mod/host running the challenge. It only really matters for the challenges where we have a winner/s ~ eg Pass The Parcel :D

So, if the monthly challenge says, for example, that I have to read a book starting with N, do I have to use the english edition, or can I use the one I read?
Thank you for answering!

As to your question in the monthly challenge, especially that category, I would just use the book in the original language since that is what you are using to qualify the book for the spot. For categories where the theme qualifies the book - either include how if works or include the English version. What Jane was talking about is more important in the competitive challenges where their is a 'winner'. The monthly is more just a challenge to yourself and we want everyone to finish as many as they are comfortable with!

That's ok. Thank you so much, MountainKat!!

Hi Jessica! Great to have you join us :) I use kindle, ebooks, audio and paperback, although i will admit to trying to avoid paperbacks now - I'll only read the ones I already own ;)
Jump into the challenges or linger in the chat threads, and you will be sure to meet our members and get to know us and our reading 'loves' :D

Is there by any chance a list of acronyms commonly used around here? I've figured some of them out, but SRC and JRC are still eluding me, and I'm sure there will be another someday. :D
I'm a proposal writer for NASA... I write acronym lists all day, so it's amazing I want to see another one. >_>
