October - Pick It For Me! Challenge
Autumn, have I mentioned that your recs were awesome?! I finished #2, Fifty Shades of Grey, and LOVED IT! I have a couple more books to finish for monthly challenges, but after that I'm moving on to the second book in the series. Thanks :-)
Nancy wrote: "Lacy, Thanks again for the picks - I just finished Glory in Death by J.D. Robb, and I really enjoyed it. I like Roarke a little bit too!!!!
I finished
, my buddy read with Julia, yesterday and loved it. Now to wait patiently until book 2 comes out.
I just finished
, my buddy read with Kami. Beginning was kind of slow for me but once it got going I liked it and crazy cliffhanger, too.
I finished Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead! Though I wouldn't say I completely loved the book, due to the main heroine, I really did enjoy it and I was totally hooked!
Kim - I finished reading Switched. Thanks for moving it up my TBR. While it wasn't great, it was still nice to see what all the fuss was about. :)
ShirleyPlease let me know when you would like to read our Buddy read book, which name escapes me at the moment!! But I am ready to go when you are! x x
I have finished reading The Body Finderwith Elise as a Buddy read! I loved it, but am waiting for Elise to finish so we can discuss it x x
Ok, finished Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. I was pleasantly surprised that the movie actually did the book justice, which is not usually the case. (I saw the movie years ago with my niece) I enjoyed reading it and will definitely have to read the others. I can see why people enjoyed the series so much.
Erin wrote: "I finished

ShellbelleI got my hands on a copy of The Darkest Surrender if you're interested in doing a buddy read toward the end of the month.
Finished One for the Money yesterday and it was a LOT better than I expected. The author really got me hooked quickly and the book stayed exciting right to the end! Can't wait to continue with this series! With this and Nalini Singh's guild hunter series (which I have now read the second one too) coming out of this months PIFM choices they really have been fantastic recommendations, thanks Kimberly!
I just finished How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf and loved it. It was not at all what I thought it was going to be. The dialoge had me laughing out loud so many times my husband started looking at me funny. Thank you so much for recommending it for me Coffeentea!!
This week I finished One Night Is Never Enough which I didn't like quite as well as the first in the series, Seven Secrets of Seduction. It was still a very fun read, and I've got the third in the series on my wishlist.I enjoyed the Chick Lit The Art of French Kissing which was something Nancy recommended that I hadn't heard of.
Just started The Comforts of a Muddy Saturday, finally breaking out of romance for a while. I have the hard back of this one which someone probably gave to me as a gift when it first came out. I think he's written three more or something in the series by now.
I just finished Long Hard Ride. I would have liked a little bit more story line but all in all I really enjoyed it and I plan on reading the rest of the series. Thanks for the recomendation Debbie!
If you still want to do the buddy read I am up for it. Just let me know. I am going to finish a book I am reading for another challenge but I can start another anytime.
I finished The Book Thief. It was a cute story and very interesting. To see what was going on in World War II through the eyes of Germans that were not Jewish but not necessarily wanting to believe Hitler either. I gave it 4 stars.
Finished reading
late last night. I couldn't sleep till I finished it. Awesome book. I could not stop crying at the end haha
Megan:Thanks for the great recommendation ofWhen You Dare. I really enjoyed the book and look forward to reading the rest pf the series!
Finished my buddy read with Valeria:
Second Grave on the Leftby Darynda Jones. (Not as good as book 1, sadly, but still plenty of good humor to enjoy.)
Almost done with my buddy read with Rebecca:
A Discovery of Witchesby Deborah Harkness. (It started strong, but I've hit a big slow spot in the story. Cross fingers it ends strong.)
Diane Whitney wrote: "Larissa~I just finished Jane Eyre and I loved it, thanks so much for recommending it, Layla recommended it last challenge and I didn't get to it. It's one of those books that I reall..."
I'm really happy you liked it! I myself didn't read it, but who knows? Perhaps I will :D
Amanda, Well I was home sick today so I got a bunch of reading done. I finished both Bad Boys DoVictoria Dahl and Shut Up and Kiss Meby Christie Craig. I really enjoyed both of them. Christie Craig is quickly becoming a favorite writer of mine. Thanks again for the great recommendations.
Lili,I just finished my second book that you recommended.
It was a REALLY good book. This one didn't hit me as a favorite, but I definitely enjoyed it! I will most definitely go out and get the next one in the series! Thanks for 2 great PNR recs so far! ^__^
Hi Lanh-Din, Just finished my last pick from you
. Thank you for the pick. I would certainly never have found that one on my own. Gave it ****1/2 stars. Most fun read I've had in a long time! I took 1/2 star away, because I really dislike alien creatures. I am not a science fiction fan and I usually hate anything about aliens, but this was great because the relationships were so strong. And I could possibly give it 5 stars just for the elevator scene! Thanks again!
Kate wrote: "Megan:Thanks for the great recommendation ofWhen You Dare. I really enjoyed the book and look forward to reading the rest pf the series!"
Glad you liked it! I especially love the third one about Jackson.
Leslie wrote: "Hi Lanh-Din, Just finished my last pick from you

That elevator scene was the BEST. I usually hate love triangles but I thought this one was done very well. Just a brief taste and then quick resolution.
I felt this book had a lot of quirky, campy, humor.
Fran wrote: "Sue, I'm so glad you liked Archangel's Blood! I sent you Seven Exes, I hope you enjoy that one too :)"
Fran,
I started, and finished, Seven Exes Are Eight Too Many yesterday (I took the day off of work because I worked a function on Sunday)!! I really enjoyed it. Thanks for the recommendation, and loaning me the book! I haven't done this before, so do I need to manually remove it from my kindle now?
Lan-Dinh wrote: "Leslie wrote: "Hi Lanh-Din, Just finished my last pick from you

Hi Sue!
So glad you enjoyed Seven Exes! You can return it by going to your Manage Your Kindle Page on Amazon.com and choose "return this title" (or something like that) which is to the right of the title. You need to click on the action button to the right of the title. If you just want to wait the 2 weeks, it will return to me automatically- no problem either way :)
I finished Envy on Oct. 8. I think this may be my favorite in this series. I will never love it as much as the BDB series but I do enjoy it. I really like seeing random BDB characters pop in now and then.Perhaps I liked this one so much because of the cross-over characters like Detective De la Cruz.
Macwolf01 [Elise] wrote: "Hi Shell Here are your picks, hope you find something you like. Elise"Finished
today while home sick. :( Overall the book was okay. For me it had a "Twilight" feel (I love you and would give up everything, even a life I've never begun to have to be a _____ and live forever with you). I dunno if I'll read the next book. Thanks for the Rec Elise, sorry it wasn't a more buddy read experience due to my sickness.
Hi Elke,I finished both The Many Sins of Lord Cameron and Under Her Skin this week and I really liked them both. I thought I'd like Lord Cameron since I love the other books in that series but Susan Mallery is a new to me author and I'm definitely looking forward to reading more from her.
Thanks for the great picks!

I am so glad you enjoyed them!!
I finished my buddy read with Kerste. I thought Making Waveswas a really good lighthearted romance. It made me laugh at many points. Great big belly laughs. And although the coincidences may have been too much in another story, they worked here, maybe in part because the characters themselves poked fun at them.
I just finished First Grave on the Right and I liked it. It was not quite as super good as I thought it would be, but I laughed out loud here and there, and I probably will go on to the second one. Thanks for the rec, Lacy!
I didn't have my laptop for two weeks so I'm a little behind schedule. I read Divergent at the beginning of the month and it was really great! I just finished reading (listening to) One Grave at a Time and it left with me with mixed feelings. I'think I am gonna read Forever but I am not sure. :)Thanks for the great challenge!Forever
Polina wrote: "I didn't have my laptop for two weeks so I'm a little behind schedule. I read Divergent at the beginning of the month and it was really great! What didn't you like about One Grave at a Time? I haven't read it yet so I'd love to know what you thought.
I'm surprised the Nov. PIFM challenge is not posted yet. Don't we have a
I finished my buddy read with Rebecca. We chose
A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness. Great recommendation, I would not have read this one other wise.
Rossy told me earlier this month that she had a victim. They usually go up around the 21st. So, I was thinking that it would probably be posted sometime this weekend.
Becky,I finished Lord of the Vampires (Royal House of Shadows, #1) and thought it was good. I would give it 3 out of 5 stars. I was sort of disappointed, I expected more from this author. So, right after I finished this book, I immediately started on a fun ghost hunter mystery.
Well, it wasn't bad, it was Cat and Bones after all :D, but it wasn't like the first books in the series. I don't really know what to say, on the one side, I don't want the series to end, but on the other - I doubt that there is much to go on with. I can't say it's a dying series but... You see, I can't make up my mind about it. :D
I had the same kind of mixed feelings about the book, Polina...it was missing a little of the magic of the first few for me.
