Well, hell, I love a good competition! ;-) The book I'm half-heartedly attempting to write is a dystopian, too, so I've got it on the brain...might be good for research! lol

I didn't know you were writing a story of sorts ooh I have to have a read of that if you will let me :) and Daemons behaviour is very much called for but still he can get over it and stop being stubborn but I love a good challenge and wouldn't change him lol

I know, I just love his cockiness, it would ruin his character if he turned all sappy. He's sexier as an ass! lol

Ha, yeah, I had the whole Stephenie Myer epiphany dream one night, and I've been trying off and on to build a story around it ever since. It's got the bones for a great dystopian, but my brain is too fried most nights to really get enough creativity flowing! lol I'm actually really looking forward to the dystopian challenge now, though, because it'll be great research! =)

That's excellent Erin!!! YAY for the dream I love getting inspiration like that!! But the challenge should really help you with research for sure and may I also suggest When Copper Suns Fall by KaSonndra Leigh (I would've added the book cover but for some reason it was loading lol) that book blew my mind away about Nephillim in a Dysyopian society read my review to get a better insight in it ... It might help with your research :)

Well what kind of different???

message 4041: by Gabriela (new)

Gabriela | 384 comments Anything...I am up for it. I have been mostly reading YA lately I have teenagers and they are always looking for something to read so I read and suggest books to them and their friends. I am a little tired of the vampire genre but I am open. I like scary and dark but I also have a soft side and like paranormal romance as well.

Well have you tried books on dystopia try Shatter Me (Shatter Me, #1) by Tahereh Mafi this book is beautiful and poetic the writing is superb or in the mood for fae try Mark of the Princess (The Kingdom Chronicles, #1) by B.C. Morin or a bit of adult contemporary that will really blow your mind try Fifty Shades of Grey (Fifty Shades, #1) by E.L. James but I warn you it's not for the faint hearted lol or you can browse through my lists and see if anything catches your eye :)

Thanks! I put Shatter Me on hold at the library so I am hoping I'll get it sometime soon. It was recommended to me by one of son's friends. I like Fae and I will try the Fifty Shades of Gray. I am reading Remember Me but it's a little slow for me and I think I just maybe too old for it ;) I got it for an incredible price, I think I know why now...

I agree with Heinzy's point, especially if it wasn't something you loved. I couldn't get enough of it, so I did the 3-day Fifty read-in, but it's definitely not for everyone! lol Takes a lot out of you, so I'd recommend something light. Touch is really good, but it's got some heavier points, too. I read the Born at Midnight series after, and it was a nice break!

I'll take the advice. Going for Touch
and by the way I actually ended up liking Fifty (confused) but definitely a five star for "captivating elements" I could not deny and I have a feeling that things are finally loosening into the right direction.
