message 3913: by Alana (last edited Feb 24, 2012 06:00AM) (new)

Alana Mag I just finished reading Solo by Sarah Schofield. It is a coming of age, young love story about a military brat who has been uprooted from her life in California and transplanted to Oregon. I wrote a review on the book, if you want to hear more.
Solo

I also read Crossed by Ally Condie. It is the second book in the Matched trilogy. Although it is slightly morbid at points, I liked it better than Matched. That might be because I didn't know Matched was part of a trilogy and the ending left me wanting more.
Crossed

Would you say Crossed is better than Matched? I wasn't thrilled with Matched (finished it last night). But I hate to only read one book in a series!

I felt the same way! Give Crossed a try. I liked it better than Matched.

message 3919: by Lola (new)

Lola (lolasreviews) In my opinion, Matched is way better than Crossed. Crossed was too much running around and nothing really happenend. But that's my opinion :)

If that's the case, then I won't like Crossed either. I really just didn't like Matched. It did not live up to my expectations at all. The characters remained rather flat and the story moved SO slowly!

Yes, I agree. There were long sections of the cat-and-mouse game, but I enjoyed the shared moments... Not to give anything away. That being said, I'll read the 3rd book when it comes out.

Apparently Destiny Binds is a book you should read because the girl was talking about dreaming or have some kind of monent with Jensen Ackles. You know Sylvia and her Jensen. So it sounds like a must read. And I am not sure about the dress thing because I have not yet read The Infernal Devices. Though I am hoping to soon, I love me some Cassandra Clare.

And Erin pretty much Destiny Binds is a must read and there is a line in there where Jensen Ackles is mentioned and just for that I was convinced to read the book LOL and the wedding dress well is was a very shoe one line teaser from Clockwork Princess that may or may not imply that Tessa will go ahead with her plans (I won't say anything else for those who have not read the books) lol

The problem is I don't really know what I think!!! I didn't not like it, I'm just not sure how to express my feelings right now! I'm talking about the Punishment thing it doesn't sit well with me... I mean it's humiliating for an respectable adult woman to accept (that's on one hand) and I feel like I can't see the other side Grey (that gets me intrigued by all that's happened as an aftermath. But truth be told I'm addicted!!!

I assume you've read the book completely, what are you thought? I think that was a damn cursed elevator... (where it all stated "what is it with elevators") got to agree I did enjoy it ... very entertaining if disturbing sometimes.

Yeah, I second, third, and fourth this statement!! He's messed up, yes, but he's so friggin' sexy there just are no words. And like I've said before, I'm no feminist, but I don't necessarily agree with the message. What happens in the end of Fifty Shades of Grey pretty much goes along with that, too. It's what happens in Darker that's the most addicting about it for me (not that I wasn't totally jonesing for him in Grey). He's 50 shades of f*&$ed up, but with Ana he's...ahhhhhh! Love me some Fifty!! lol
