Wait, in SM you felt Warner belonged with her, or did you mean to say FM? See, my issue is that I can't stand being duped by an author when it comes to the love story, and I feel like that's beginning to happen here. I get that the love triangle angle is exciting and full of twists, but it's not necessary to put something on the table and then have it completely tossed aside. Just like in the Delirium series, which was a huge slap in the face for me (not that I liked that series all that much anyway, but still). We started out with SM where there's a strong love story growing with Adam/Juliette, and nothing else is even really on the radar. Warner at that point was just kind of the obsessive psycho with a violent streak who peaked everyone's curiosity. Then things start to turn his way and we see a complete shift in Adam and Warner in UM and DM, so I feel like I was made to fall for this incredible guy who just isn't going to be what he was made out to be in SM. I don't know, there are a lot of Warner fans out there who disagree, but I just don't like that Adam was put out there as such a clear and present love interest only to be pushed on the back burner.

iv only read like 2 pages but so far im really enjoying it :D

No, I meant SM, as in the series name. I didnt really see Warner as THE love interest until DM, and I never felt like Adam was THE love interest, not even in SM. I havent read Delirium, but I know what you mean. I felt pretty duped after reading Masque of the Red Death. But I havent read the sequel yet so that might change how I feel about things.
Something always felt a little forced about Juliette and Adam's relationship to me. I didnt know what it was until later but now that I look back at SM I know its that Juliette was with Adam only because he was the first person to be kind to her (and she could touch him). But now that she has options its clear he's not really meant for her. They clash over everything. So I will feel duped if she ends up with Adam. I wont only be disappointed, I will be incredibly mad and its gonna ruin the entire series for me. It will change how I look at everything that has happened, how I see Juliette, and I will never be able to think of this series without getting a bad taste in my mouth. Its gonna be worse than how I felt when Lost ended. And that was pretty bad. I have never forgiven JJ Abram and have not watched any of his shows since.

Yeah a friend had recommended it to me, so I decided to check it out.

I agree with your point Rebecca about Adam & Juliette's relationship not really ringing true for me either. The fact that they can't freely be themselves with each other is a big issue. Unless they can bridge that and be open and honest about their feelings and with each other then a relationship between them can not really work. Yes Warner has done terrible things and has not been a nice person, but he's himself with Juliette. And as terrible as it might be to admit, she can be herself around him as well. It's not pretty, but at least it's true. And whether by accident, self-defense, survival or purpose, they've all done terrible things. I just want them all to be okay and find their happiness no matter how the love triangle ends. Who knows, the way Mafi's spinning this, anything is possible and I LOVE it LOL!

I second that one, hun!! I feel so let down by where things are going; regardless of what anyone else says, the first book was clearly setting up this beautiful love story for the two of them, and now it's being swept under the rug.
There are going to be a lot of angry readers either way it goes, apparently. Honestly though, probably 90% of my friends who reviewed this either went on and on about how much they loved Adam with Juliette, or they just oohed and aahed over her as a heroine. Rarely was Warner ever mentioned as being anything other than a great villain (which I agree with 100%), so the idea that he's been planned as the love interest all along just doesn't ring true at all for me. SM was so unbelievably poetic and the connection A&J had came out so strongly for me, like it was their destiny to find each other after all of the crap they both went through. But now, everything he did out of his feelings for HER, not because of some simple fascination like Warner (because, come on, he didn't even KNOW her when he planned all of it, so you can't call that love), essentially means nothing. No one will ever convince me that this was always meant to be a Warner/Juliette relationship, that means SM was just meaningless moments between Adam and Juliette and I loved that book to no end. Okay, I've said my piece. LOL To each his own, though, I know I'm not convincing any Warner fans either!
Annie, you and I can have ourselves a pity party while Warner fans cheer him at the finish line!! ;-) *sobbing*

OMG I swear I was MIA for the day and this thread went crazy lol!
This is Will and Jem all over again! Haha I love it!

Belkis I totally agree. It's unfortunate the next 2 books are on completely different characters. I wanted more of Lilac and Tarver dang it!

*siiiiiiiigh* Will. Oh my Will. :(

I like the prequels. They are very different. Although I think the author jumbled more than one fairy tale in the mix for each story, so sometimes it's confusing.

Oh - FOL & FOM are sooo good, Paula! You'll enjoy them!

Yes - Will... **pouting lip**. Love him.

OK, I see a trend. :P We must be attracted to drastically different men IRL as well. Either of you read the Tiger Saga? That's my other big love-triangle that I get the most worked up over. Lemme guess. Team Ren?

Ah man :( well that sucks. I wanted more Lilac & Tarver too Tiana. Oh well, who knows though, as awesome as the writing was on this first book we might fall in love all over again with the next couple in book 2 :D

Oh Laura, I have A Place to Call Home and haven't read it yet either. Please let us know if the reviews are true in regards to similarities to TSGT so we can dive right into it :)

Team Ren since the beginning!!

I beg to differ on that. But that's just my opinion.

haha! Never read it. :) But in SM, I have to say I'm torn, but I'm more like 45/55 (does that count?) in favor of Warner& not 50/50. lol

Haha I think I'm 60/40 Adam. But I still need to read Fracture Me and based on ALL the comments that could change

Do u have a theory regarding the titles, Annie? I would be interested to hear it.
I'm 0/100 in favour of Warner. :P

and now I am finally starting

Both great reads!!! Love Sweet Peril:)

Hahahahahaha!!! Omg, it is just like Will & Jem!

I might need to check into this.

I'd say that I'm the same,Donna. Mandy I was 60/40 Adam until his novella. Now I'm leaning just very slightly towards Warner.
