I was never a big Adam fan, but I gotta say that he turned out to be even worse than I imagined. All he did throughout the book, when not worrying about James, was worry about Juliette, and think about how she was too weak to take care of herself, and how she was the weakest link at Omega Point. I thought he was dull before, but now I know he is absolutely not what Juliette needs.

This is my first time with an Amanda Hocking book and so far I like it though the whole Wendy/Finn thing is kinda weird like I'm not feeling that dynamic romantically.

Same. I wasn't expecting much from him to begin with like I just thought he'd spend the whole time getting sappy about his "undying love" for Juliette and making plans for her to take him back but I was soooo not expecting the attitude from him. I mean, Juliette sees him as this beacon of all that is good and right with the world especially in the little Ignite Me snippet at the end and to read his real thoughts about her, I'm just like "Oh, hon...."

Belkis (bminaya) | 8313 comments I finally got to read Fracture Me (Shatter Me, #2.5) by Tahereh Mafi last night and I liked it. I really enjoyed getting to witness their vulnerabilities. I may be among the minority here, but the fact that Adam was unsure and worried over James was okay for me. I mean they're all pretty young and dealing with so much death and anger and uncertainties that to expect them to never cave is just not realistic, at least for me. So the fact that we get to see inside Adam's head and his feeling and thoughts and doubts was a good thing. And yes, he had a lot of doubts about Juliette's abilities, strengths, feelings etc. But again, for me, that was also a good thing because the issues are there and the sooner they acknowledge them the better off they'll be. I loved that in his heart and mind James came first. So excited to know what's going to happen next. Can not wait for book 3 to come out!

I dont hold it against him that he chose to save his brother over Juliette, but I really hated how much he was belittling Juliette in his thoughts. That was a big no-no for me.

Heather (heatherholm) | 5 comments Sensitivity & Strength

Larva High School - part 2, Respect and Resilience

Larva High School - part 3 Expectations & Endurance

Larva High School - part 4 Influence and Independence

This series kept me reading into the wee hours. I loved it and HIGHLY recommend it. It really had me captured.

Here's the blurp to the first one.
How do you go back to school after your life collapses at your very first party?
For freshman Sara, going back to school means facing her boyfriend Ben, who made out with another girl at the party, and her best friend Amber, a.k.a the-girl-Ben-made-out-with. How do you pick up the pieces when the people you trusted the most betrayed you? Do you stand by and watch others tyrannize and bully your former best friend for what she did to you? And who’s to blame if she decides to kill herself? Not to mention – could it really be possible that in the middle of all this pain and confusion – you can find love?

Larva High School gives you an honest look into teen life and is one of those rare books that make you cry, laugh, and wish that you were part of the story.

I think he's frustrated and hurt and insecure Rebecca. With everything that's happened between them I think he's looking for ways to cope. I think his anger has him lashing out at her and even at himself. We'll have to wait and see where she takes the story in book 3. That sneak peek at the end of Fracture Me really setup for an interesting journey for sure :)

Just keep reading Mel. There's a reason for that! Amanda Hocking is good at keeping you guessing in this trilogy.

Belkis (bminaya) | 8313 comments I also finished On the Edge (The Edge, #1) by Ilona Andrews and loved it. This is a series I'm definitely going to be continuing. Now reading Holy Frigging Matrimony - A Tangled Series Short Story (Tangled, #1.5) by Emma Chase and continuing my reread of Cat & Bones with book 2 One Foot in the Grave (Night Huntress, #2) by Jeaniene Frost :)

Bridget | 1517 comments I'm soooo behind on this thread once again!! I got Fracture Me (Shatter Me, #2.5) by Tahereh Mafi the day it came out, but got caught up doing other stuff and haven't gotten around to it yet! I'm dying to read it though. And then Shine (Mageri, #5) by Dannika Dark was released and now I'm torn not knowing which to start first. I hate when several books you've been waiting on come out at the same time!!

message 32724: by Nicole D. (new)

Nicole D. (thereadingrebel) | 969 comments finished Allegiant (Divergent, #3) by Veronica Roth and LOVED it even though it was sad but it was very realistic how it ended. In these kind of worlds everyone living happy ever after is just not in the cards and very unrealistic but then again I loved Mockingjay and a lot of people didn't like that ending.

reading Brooke (Under the Never Sky #2.5) by Veronica Rossi and I didn't really like Brooke going in but she is really growing on me.I am enjoying getting a look inside her head and can't wait for Into the Still Blue (Under the Never Sky, #3) by Veronica Rossi .I don't know what to read next I was going to read Shatter Me but I just read a dystopian series and don't want to read two in a row.

It had me so out of my comfort zone I thought I will need a GPS to find my way back. It made my heart race, made me nauseous, made me wince and wail like a banshee, it made me angry, it made me hate and now it makes me love and swoon. This book rocks. One of my best reads of 2013.

I'm still not sure one way or another, Erin. Just read it. It doesn't take long to read. It definitely leaves more questions than answers though. And Adam, my poor Adam...
