I admit, it wasn't a favorite. Avery drove me a bit batty, she had no backbone!! I still liked it, but it didn't wow me. Did you read Cam's POV? I'll pick it up soon so I can get to the ARC, but I'm curious if it's better from his perspective.

Eh...it was okay. I think I might have liked it better if it hadn't been two years since I read the last one and I was pretty much starting from scratch but I didn't really get into it until after the first 100 pages.

Haha, I am reading this right now and Adam is so bad I am wondering if it was on purpose. Is Mafi trying to make it obvious how wrong Adam is for Juliette, for the last straggling Adamites?

message 32683: by Jenny (new)

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 1075 comments Okay, so I finished Altered (Altered, #1) by Jennifer Rush very quickly and I LOVED it!! Also finished Ink is Thicker Than Water by Amy Spalding and it was a decent contemporary. Also finished Countdown by Michelle Rowen and it was a little disappointing. The world building was lacking, and there was also a lot of instalove (which I hate), but the action was good, as well as the characters. I gave it 3.5 stars. I also finished my reread of The Son of Neptune (The Heroes of Olympus, #2) by Rick Riordan and loved it the second time!

Now reading These Broken Stars (Starbound, #1) by Amie Kaufman and I am LOVING it so far!! Wonderful writing, characters and world building!

I do to Esther. I think it was the most controversial series at the time. People wanted to ban it from schools because of it's content. I remember thinking it was the worst thing a mother could do.

message 32691: by Zohal (new)

Zohal | 3 comments I am currently reading The Sky Is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson

Lately I've fallen into the mood for contemporary and holiday reads. Which is why the other 3 books I am currently reading are taking forever for me to get through because I haven't been in that particular mood. It's kind of annoying because I hate reading books extremely slowly. Especially if I'm only reading about 10 pages a day which seems to be happening with The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black

I've been reading this for a month now and I'm only half-way. I don't know if it's the writing style or I'm just not in the mood but I really want to read it.

I agree with you on that. I don't think I'd be able to read that kind of book now cause as a mother I have a much harder time with books like that.

Okay - so I didn't think his story was the best, but I'm not a hater. :) I thought it showed him growing up a little. At least some internal reflection. I have a feeling about the last book, though...
