message 31115: by Teresa (new)

Teresa | 606 comments Just finished Switched. I read a few reviews that compared it to Twilight but I do not get that comparison at all. I didn't think it was anything like Twilight. It was more like a supernatural version of The Princess Diaries if you ask me (I'm referring to the movie not the book cuz I didn't read the book). Why do so many people compare books to Twilight?

message 31116: by ♥ Ashleigh ♥ (new)

message 31118: by ♥ Rebecca ♥ (new)

♥ Rebecca ♥ | 1653 comments I just finished Origin (Lux, #4) by Jennifer L. Armentrout , and I ended up enjoying it a lot more than I expected. I was having trouble deciding between Crown of Midnight (Throne of Glass, #2) by Sarah J. Maas , Dark Triumph (His Fair Assassin, #2) by R.L. LaFevers , and South of Surrender (Hearts of the Anemoi, #3) by Laura Kaye for my next read. But I think I am going to go with Crown of Midnight (Throne of Glass, #2) by Sarah J. Maas .

I liked Carrier...and don't remember any Twilight. I think people compare any book with triangles or large odd families to Twilight. Annoying.

message 31121: by S.K. (new)

Yes I'm a bit of a triangle junkie myself. I'm always shocked when other women don't-but apparently a lot don't. *Shrugs* Each to their own! meanwhile, I'll have two for myself ;)

message 31125: by Annie (new)

Annie Brewer (anniebrewer) | 2351 comments Ugh, I'm so sick of every good book being compared to Twilight. I didn't even like the Twilight books. But it seems a love triangle or vamps/weres/witches etc, its a rip off of Twilight. Such bull shit and not fair to the authors. I don't pay attention to reviews that compare books to others. I'll read them anyway and enjoy them more.

I hope you like this one more than I did, it was disappointing for me. There is a LOT of drug use to the point that the MCs really lost their appeal. Recreational drug us is one thing, but living the life of a stoner does not make for a hottie love interest! I'm hoping that the sequel brings things back around, it needs to.

Next is Breaking the Rules by L.K. Lewis and then I think I'll finally knock The Angel (The Original Sinners, #2) by Tiffany Reisz off the list!
