What Are You Reading? Part 1

Why would they change the ending SO much? I mean, I was already pissed at the changes they made from the beginning to the middle. By the end, I was done. Livid. Who knows if there'll be a sequel. It didn't do as well as they thought in the box office. If they do, I won't go watch it.

They tried to make it better, but they only pissed off their fanbase. I was so sad that I didn't love it-my favorite series of all-time. :(

I guess I shouldn't have had such high expectations. The director directs mediocre movies and the screenwriter is new, it was their first film. They needed a strong group of people to bring this series to life properly. So sad for Cassie.
I didn't think that they would change anything. I didn't think anything really needed to be changed.
That's what I was wondering. Why change a perfectly awesome storyline and add stuff that makes no sense? If you didn't read the books, you'd be lost. There was no explanation of anything, it just jumped from one thing to the next, and the scenes were jumbled, out of order and choppy. I just don't get why they needed to steer so far from the book. Very upsetting! The ending was the biggest rip off. So mad.

I guess I'll wait on some reviews before heading to the movies. I've done good this way so far and saved myself a lot of disappointment and frustration with all the awful books to movies lately.

Crap I guess I will wait for the DVD to since I wasn't thrilled with the book to begin with. I know I know but I liked the other initials better.

Tracy wrote: "Yes twin. I get confused. TMI TID CIA FBI all the same to me."LMAO! I understand. And yes, TID is a bit better. But I won't see that in theater if they actually make them. I would die if they fuck up my Will and Jem! LOVE this series. I'm better off reading the books and saying to hell with all movie adaptations....even of Beautiful Disaster or Divergent and Hush Hush. Unless they get a good director/screenwriter involved
Tracy wrote: "Annie wrote: "I guess I shouldn't have had such high expectations. The director directs mediocre movies and the screenwriter is new, it was their first film. They needed a strong group of people to..."Me too Tracy LOL!
The only movie I liked was hunger games. The only other ones I have watched are Stephen king and I usually watch his and not read. If I see the movie first I won't read the book.
Tracy wrote: "The only movie I liked was hunger games. The only other ones I have watched are Stephen king and I usually watch his and not read. I was really gung ho about going to see it but now I think I'll just wait until it comes out on DVD.

We have a discount theater we call "cheap seats" right around the corner, they get titles after they've been in the regular theaters. I think I'll wait until it hits there to go!!

Yeah, Hunger Games was pretty good. I'm anxious about Divergent, I just have a feeling they're going to make a mess of it but it's such a great, unique story.

Well it looks like they'll be making each book now. I just read an article that even though it did poorly in the box office, they'll continue to make the rest of them. Well, I guess I won't be getting excited about it, since I'll just watch them all on DVD. Such a shame they have to ruin such good books that could be amazing! :(

aww, poor sylvia. At least the surgery went well!
Reading
.I like the story so far (only on chapter like 4 or something) but I am so irked that they got one little detail of my favorite Greek god wrong. ;c
Just finished
and loved it. Great book that covers some heavy topics but is still fun and not too gloomy. Now starting
. Need something more smutty after all the angst-ridden reads of lately. And I think Hell's Knights will be perfect for it.

Love this series!! Don't give up on Percy :)

OH I hadnt realized it was doing badly. Thats too bad. I am not a huge fan of the books, they were ok. But I really enjoyed the movie. I thought it was accurate but still better than the book. At least they are already working on part 2, maybe that will help its popular and will lead to all 6 being made.

I saw it but I haven't had a chance to check it out yet. I'm hopeful, and depending on how the first peeks are I'll either be cautiously optimistic or doubtful! LOL

I agree!! And TMI has always meant "too much information" in chat lingo, so it's amusing at times seeing people going on with posts like "I can't wait to see TMI!" and "TMI is so freaking awesome" ;-)

I read her The Darkness Rising series first and loved it. The last book was little disappointing in romance department but rest was as good as the others. Next I'm going to read her Women of the Otherworld series. I've heard it's really good.

With TMI, I'm probably in the minority but I thought it was casted really poorly and once the trailer came out I thought it looked like a really lightweight version of the Underworld movies so I never got excited to watch it. I'll probably wait for it to go to Netflix or HBO.
I finished
,
and
. Starting
and waiting for
, I'm sick and tomorrow I get to stay home and read all day. Good times!

I was never big fan of the series but I hate when they screw up movies. I will also wait for it to come out on DVD. THG was one of the best ones and I really liked the Warm Bodies. Divergent and VA Academy don't look bad but we will see. They better do amazing job on Lux series and Angelfall. Speaking of which, Have you guys seen cover of
? I'm glad they didn't went far from the first cover but this one looks little off to me. I'm little disappointed.
@ Ekatarine - I am JEALOUS! I'm sick too - can I stay home from work & send the kids to school so I can devote my day to Daemon? Please?!!!! Pretty please? :)

Well as an obsessed TMI fan (of the books I mean), the movie was way off. The ending was every bit wrong and the rest felt like they just threw scenes together out of order and added stuff in the process. I guess if you're not a huge of the series it seems okay. I felt it was poorly executed. I will just catch the rest on DVD which pisses me off since I've waited 2 years to see my favorite series hit the screen. :/
Mel wrote: "Laura wrote: "Yeah I only read the first book and TMi Movie didnt look all that great to me so we didnt bother to go see it on opening night... and now I see thats its bombing.I can wait for the DV..."Nope you're not in the minority. I'd say it's mixed. There's a lot of angry fans that saw so many changes when it wasn't necessary. It angers me when they change stuff or leave important details out from the book. :(

But I read some seriously rave reviews from fans. I dont think I am the only one who enjoyed it. The numbers are actually the only bad thing I have heard. All the actual reveiws I have read were amazing.

I think I'll become a fan of Jackson, just that one detail irks me. So far, its entertaining and Grover is a sweetheart Satyr c:

I couldn't believe the stuff they left out and changed. God I was so excited, hyped up. I even went opening night. And I left pissed off, wondering why the hell I even bothered. I'd never been more disappointed in a movie. Should've known they'd ruin the series. Hollywood is good for that. Although I loved Percy Jackson. Both movies. It's sad that I'd rather have seen PJ for a second time than the cheap imitation that is TMI. :/

I'm glad i didn't re-read it before watching the movie. It's been close to 2 years since I read City of Bones, so I didnt catch a lot of the small differences. I liked the movie until the big showdown at the end. They messed that up big time.
