I see you have already picked Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth , but my 2 cents is that both are amazing. In my review for Under the Never Sky (Under the Never Sky, #1) by Veronica Rossi I actually said it was my Divergent of 2012. :P I love them both pretty evenly. If you are not a fan of dystopians you might enjoy UtNS more, because it is not really a dystopian. There is a slight dystopian feel at the very beginning, but it is much more of a post-apoc. But even then, it doesnt really feel like a post-apoc because it is so far in the future that there arent ruins laying around, ppl around scavenging for food and supplies. They are way beyond that at this point. They are back to farming and hunting and using trades. It feels kinda historical.

I would personally say that they are both better than Matched and THG.

I definitely think Divergent, it's a more intricate world and the characters are all incredible. A lot of people (myself included) has issues with the beginning of UTNS being meh, but it is a great story once you get into it. Can't go wrong either way!!

message 30005: by Annie (new)

Annie Brewer (anniebrewer) | 2351 comments Thanks ladies! I used to be a Dystopian fan but I got so into PNR and NA that Dystopia books fell off my radar. But both Divergent and UtNS have been on my list to reads for a long time now so I'm interested in both series. I'm getting burnt out on NA and I'm finally getting back into my love for PNR, which I've missed. And it's good to switch up genres a bit. I'll be starting Divergent tonight and let you all know what I think so far. Thanks for your two cents, you've been helpful! :)

Yeah, the Lauren Hammond thing is very strange, part of me worries that she's got personal stuff going on because she's just dropped off the face of the reading world. It doesn't seem like her, I know she used to be much more involved with her fans. But yeah, as much there are those series where we all scream "EEP!!" and rush off to get the next one, I'm going to hold off for some so it's not always requiring a long wait and a re-read to remember what happened!

Devoured Come Together (The Cityscape Series, #3) by Jessica Hawkins today, I literally spent every free minute reading this because it was impossible to put down. Such an incredibly sexy and emotional series, you all MUST read this one!!

On to Some Like It Spicy (A Perfect Recipe #1) by Robbie Terman and an ARC of Take Me (Take a Chance #4) by Diane Alberts , but I really want to read Wethering The Storm (The Storm, #2) by Samantha Towle before Origin (Lux, #4) by Jennifer L. Armentrout !
