What Are You Reading? Part 1

Lover Eternal is probably my fave out of the series. Definitely recommend reading this one :)
I finally finished Annie's book
...woohoo life has been overwhelming and it feels good to read again.

I started to read it but I wanted to save it for when I'm going through a book slump. It's all about Drew and Jenny right?

Yeah, it's Drew and Jenny. Holding out for a book slump isn't a bad idea. :)

I decided to start The Covenant series by Jennifer L. Armentrout and read

I have a feeling I know where this is going, and I'm kinda excited that it's something different with the plot...if that's what happens. LOL

Oh I loved Rule. Very very smexy:)

I read VA after this and I didn't really see all the similarities everyone was jumping up down about. Some things maybe, but I didn't think it was as obvious as everyone was making it out to be.

I agree! I read Half-Blood first then VA and didn't see much similarities. Even so, they're both good. But I've only read VA and stopped. I love th Covenant series though. Also people are gonna compare series, vampire series werewolf series. There's always gonna be similarities but I don't let it deter me from reading them. JLA has too good an imagination of her own to copy others. :)

I liked it....I sobbed!!!"
Yeah, that book'll do it to ya! Even the second time reading it, even the twentieth. I don't think I could ever read it without laying in fetal position shaking. It's just horrible...horrible! Word has it Tabitha is writing a sequel too. I'm not sure...I may or may not...Hell, I'm sure I'll still read it. I'm a glutton for freakin punishment. Also her other book I just finished yesterday,

Hmmm, Obsidian is said to have the exact scene as Twilight? That's a first I've heard. What scene did they say? You can put spoiler tag for those who haven't read it yet. But that's interesting. I haven't read Cursed yet, or that Nephilim series yet. My favorite series of hers is the Covenant. I haven't even finished or gotten up to date with the Obsidian series yet either. I guess I lost interest and too many other books were calling my name. But I do think she's got good series. I did read and like Tempting the Best Man, but I didn't read the sequel of that one either.

I loved them both. Adrian from

I hear you! I'm in the middle of a book crisis. But I think in honor of Origin coming out next week, I may re-read the series... I haven't decided yet.
And I'm glad you're liking Of Poseison! Really liked it - & of Triton! Her prose is great, although I know ppl have had issues with her writing in 3rd person. Still, I really liked it!

I guess I can see the frustration for VA fans if things are that similar. But I kind of chock it up to people having similar ideas. Just because VA was published first doesn't prove JLA hadn't had this world written somewhere and it just wasn't printed. Plus, how many times do two movies that are nearly identical come out at the same time. Yet we still go see the movies. Just because one came out first doesn't lesson the quality of the other. I haven't read VA so I can't truly judge. But I feel like if the story is enjoyable then live and let live. If it were true plagarism it would have been shut down by now (like that woman who took bits out of Easy and some others word for word). I don't know, I guess I feel like people get inspired by books they read all the time. How many songs out there have the same background music. I'd rather just enjoy, but that's just me. And here ends my rant . . . . :)

Ugh, I'm scared to read that one for that very reason!

!! All this raving about the series is making me want to get to the next one. =) Glad you're loving it, hun!

I agree; there's a definite similarity with some aspects of it, but then there are also a multitude more differences and uniquenesses to Half Blood that make it clearly it's own story. IF Jen got her inspiration from VA, so be it; she certainly wasn't copyrighting the story by any means, and she created an outstanding series from that one lightbulb of inspiration. As far as I'm concerned, HB was a much more engaging story with more likable characters anyway, no offense to Mead.

I stopped at the first VA too, I just couldn't get into the characters. To me they weren't anywhere near as likable as Jen's. I'll read it eventually, but whereas I couldn't STOP reading Covenant, I'm going to have to make myself go back to VA!!

Yes i know! I've been putting it off for so long."
Awesome."
Love the name. But now it's going to get stuck in my head when I have a Q in scrabble, lol

The Hunger Games? Oh yeah. A few times now. I didn't know it was popular when a friend recommended it though. I usually avoid books for awhile when people make too big a fuss over them!
But I wasn't disappointed.
With, erm, book 1 anyway. I'm still not on speaking terms with book 3. Be warned.
