I really liked Storm the best for the storyline and Spark the best because Gabriel is my favorite character, so hopefully I will like Spirit too- this is a really good series!

That's good to hear b/c I feel the same as you, Victoria. Gabe was my fave, but Storm was a great start to the series.

Belkis (bminaya) | 8313 comments Finished Shades of Blood (Warriors of Ankh, #3) by Samantha Young yesterday early and it was a good ending to the trilogy. The MC irked me to no end for most of it though. Finished Blood Entangled (Blood Vine #2) by Amber Belldene earlier today and it was FANTASTIC! So happy with this second book. I loved the first one and this one was so great. Love it when a series keeps building steam. I'm so happy :) Now starting The Darkest Minds (The Darkest Minds, #1) by Alexandra Bracken and Of Beast and Beauty by Stacey Jay YAY!

Yeah, avoid that one like the plague, then, hun!! I've never encountered a male slave story quite so graphic, or that seemed quite so endless as that story. Even in the Dark Duet, Caleb's rapes were only touched upon, so you got a reprieve. It's very hard to stomach, for sure.

Finished Moon Spell (The Tale of Lunarmorte, #1) by Samantha Young because I couldn't put it down, I really needed a good addicting YA story like this!! Not happy about things going south like they did in the end there, but hopefully the sequel won't be going down that road for too long.

Still working through Unscrupulous (The Manhattanites, #2) by Avery Aster , which is a very strange storyline and not really my thing so far, then I'm grabbing up Scars and Songs (Mad World, #3) by Christine Zolendz to finally finish off this series that I loved!!

I agree about it dragging a little here and there, the pace was up until they arrived at the camp and then it seemed to get boring for a while, but overall I liked the concept and the characters so I will be interested to see where it goes next- hopefully it will pick up and get better instead of worse. There is potential there, I just hope the Author utilizes it!

Have you read anything else by Dekker Laura? I have read the Circle Series and liked it a lot and I have also read The Lost Books or The books of History and I like them to.

As far as his stand alones I have read The Boneman's Daughters which is very freaky and The Priest's Graveyard which is also one of my favorite Dekker book. His writing is just very unique and I love it.

Have you ever tried the Undead and Unwed (Undead, #1) by MaryJanice Davidson series? They are so silly and I just love Betsy. I listened to all of them on audio and once I got used to the way the narrator reads it is just hilarious. Betsy's biggest problem, at least in her opinion, is her shoes. People are dying all around her and you show her a pair of Ferragamo's and she passes out.

I'm about 25%into both Darkest Minds & Of Beast and Beauty Laura and so far I'm liking them both but because Darkest Minds is a much longer story it's still not into any of the exciting stuff yet, at least I hope that's the case LOL! However, I'm loving the folk quality of the storytelling in Of Beast and Beauty so far. Loving the fresh retelling of the classic fairy tale in this one. It has intriguing main characters :)
