Ha, it's nothing personal, believe me. I'm just on the fence about recommending it because it was really, really difficult to get through. More so than Dark Duet. I actually dreaded picking it back up at times because I wasn't sure I could take any more!!

I'm trying out
, despite the fact that it's another dom/sub story. The fact that it's consensual is making it a much more enjoyable read so far, though, and damn Jayden is smoking hot!!

If you want the saddest book ever, try ,

Oh Erin, I have this one in my kindle too :) can't wait to hear what you think once you're done with it.

I am reading Iced right now Belkis. It's ok but not as good as the rest of the series and that is probably because I don't like Dani as much as I do...ummm...what's her name.

So glad I could entertain you ladies but that seriously doesn't take care of my stupidity. Can someone tell me why I insist on listening to those books with children around?

I am very happy to have discovered this author. I asked some wonderful ppl in the Romance Forum Refugees for suggestions of books with dark heroes and this was perfect. I look forward to reading more. Although, one of my stipulations was that the hero not physically harm the heroine, and I was warned that one of the heroes does, later in the series. I am worried, but now that I have started I have to continue this amazing series!

Well hopefully it's not one you've grown to love and then put you off the entire series. Hmmm sounds very interesting indeed. I think I better look into it :D

Yes, I am about 36% done and it's just painful, even to me. Poor girl lol

There is no plagiarism.

Where? She wrote Harry Potter fanfiction, but since it was a fanfiction there is no real plagiarism.
@Emma, like Gabby has said, she has not plagiarised, she once was a fanfiction writer but The Mortal Instrument series is her own creation. This is definitely the first I've heard of it.

Ye I knew about the fanfiction, I admit I do not know the full story, I think it's that people feel the characters are too alike Harry Potter characters. When she was writing fan fiction she took her work from other places and was banned from the site. I suppose it cannot be true if she is still selling the books and making a movie from it.

I've read both her series's and I can't say that I find any of the characters alike at all. My brother is obsessed with both and he too can't see similarities. Someone always has something negative to say when authors become successful and whether she was a fanfiction writer shouldn't matter. Her credibility as an author should attest to how successful her books are. I love her work! Don't stop reading on account of hearsay and yes, she wouldn't be getting movie deals if she plagiarised.

I couldn't agree more. This is first time I hear about plagiarism. I can't think of any similarities between those two series. It truly is her own work.

LOVE
JZB! He is my ONLY "Book Boyfriend" I love Mac too shes an awesome heroine!

Yeah, it's far more depressing and leaves you feeling completely hopeless while it's all happening. At least with Dark Duet you could see the emotions in Caleb as he was putting Livvie through it, and that's not at all the case here. What the characters go through blew past sadism and went straight to horrific physical and emotional abuse. For more than 80% of the 400 page book. It's crazy intense.
