I think you'll enjoy this one Annie as the dystopian aspect is much less emphasized in this story than others. This one I feel is more character driven, focused on emotions and characters themselves. And the romance(s) is spotlighted as well. Plus Annie, the writing is so beautifully done, that for you to miss out on experiencing it firsthand, would be a downright crime. It's poetry Annie :)

This is hands down the most beautiful writing I've ever had the pleasure of reading in terms of romance. The writing is in a league of it's own. Laini Taylor is a literary goddess and I whole heartily recommend her books to EVERYONE. What a moving experience truly. So my reading buddy, if you have not yet experienced Laini Taylor, please add her to your TBR list and prepare to be moved to a whole new dimension <3

I saw there there was an edited version of I Am Alive (I Am Alive, #1) by Cameron Jace reuploaded to Amazon. The version I read had a different cover. I hope this one was much better cuz the version I read was horrid! It was so bad it was a disgrace and I couldnt even get myself to rate or review it, it was so bad I couldnt do anything that mean, so I just marked it as dnf. Although I skimmed some, I did finish it and normally would have rated and reviewed it.

Yes, it's so unique. That's one of the things I loved the most about it but I can also understand how would be the story a bit harder to relate to as well. But once you acclimate to the writing style, the world building and character development is magical, and oh the writing, it's heaven.

From what I saw (and/or understand) on Amazon, the first one, which I got for free, thank God, if it's as bad as you're saying, and I trust your judgement, was like part one of the story, Nice Day to Die ( I Am Alive book 1 Episode #1 ) by Cameron Jace , this one I Am Alive (I Am Alive, #1) by Cameron Jace is presumably parts 1-3. Not for nothing, but this whole new trend for writing books in "serial" form is getting really annoying. You end up starting to read a book only to realize that it's really a short or novella and not even as most of the times the thing isn't even 75 pages! And then you get sucked in and you end up buying like 8, 10, I don't even know how many pieces of a story until it's finished and you'll have paid an ungodly amount of money by the time you finish reading the story :( anyhoot, let's hope that the new I Am Alive has benefited from the use of a qualified editor.

I remember it being long enough to qualify as a book, not a novella. Maybe a bit on the shorter side, but over 100 pages for sure. And longer than a lot of the other books on my kindle. Although the version I now have on my kindle has updated to the new cover, and it says I Am Alive volume 1-3, it still ends in the same place it did when I read it.

Yeah, The Raven Boys (Raven Cycle, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater Daughter of Smoke & Bone (Daughter of Smoke & Bone, #1) by Laini Taylor , and Poison Princess (The Arcana Chronicles, #1) by Kresley Cole were all rather heavy reads but once everything gets less completely baffling they ended up being great books! =)
