Maybe not as much as I enjoyed the Brenna Blixen (Double Clutch) series. But it's still good.

because this book did not wow me in the least. Neither did
. Yeah, the chemistry between the MCs is there but I felt with both books that more than half of it is spent on Daemon & Katy going hot and cold and that's it. I mean, yeah, sure, great to have hot leads and great chemistry but how about a story?? Both these books had the exact same formula last quarter of the book laden with all of the action and answers and suspense all barreled in there. And the most disappointing part for me were the missed opportunities to bring depth and interest to the development of the characters. I mean it would've been so awesome to get some insight from Daemon about his planet and his people and their struggles when they arrived and were pretty much held prisoners by the government. I'm just saying? I'm just disappointed because the premise of aliens made of light and mutating humans was very original but the execution fell short in my opinion. I can move through a book pretty quickly if it holds my interest and i struggled for a week with both this book as well as book 1. I will not be picking up book 3.

Yeah, I'm 30% in and it's really not grabbing me at all. It's a very strange dynamic with the characters, I don't know. I love Tammara so I don't want to pull a DNF, but I hate spending time on a story I'm not into.
