♥ Rebecca ♥ | 1653 comments Currently reading Dark Passage (Dark Mirror, #2) by M.J. Putney . Its the second in a series about an old abbey where kids are sent during Georgian England if they have magic, and people try to force it out of them, thinking it is evil. A few kids meet underground during secret meetings to learn to use their magic. They also find a magic passage to the future in the tunnels. They travel back and forth from 1803 to 1940, and have made friends with future magicians as well. I really like the story but the romance is extremely subdued. Very proper etiquette for 1803. No fun. :P

Julie Reece I've got a question I'm hoping some of you can answer. It's between House of Night and Vampire Diaries (I've never read either series. I heard one vamp series has some, pretty racy/questionable for YA, sex in it. Not sure which. Is that true? Is it one or both seies? Do you agree it's too much for YA? What age do you recommend them for? How explicit was it? A lot of questions I know. Sorry. LOL Thanks for your input!!! :)

Sorry if I posted this in the wrong place.

message 6016: by Annie (new)

Annie Brewer (anniebrewer) | 2351 comments Oh shucks, I haven't read either series but I watch Vampire Diaries! I love that show and I'm sure the books are just as good. But I don't know about House of Night series. :(

Hope someone can answer your questions!

Thanks you've been a lot of help. I appreciate your answers, and I think I get the idea now. Everyone is so different and their views on how 'racy' a YA book is has a wide range. You've helped a ton!
