I am reading Death Sentence (Escape From Furnace, #3) by Alexander Gordon Smith , the third novel in the series. I stumbled upon this series when I was at the library. Haven't heard much about it but it is really good.

I read it at the same time as my best friend and we both liked it. I'm looking foward to the second one. I like how it all tied together at the end but left plenty open for the sequal.

Oh, this is SO worth the read!! Honestly, Rebecca, you need to read this one. I was such a doubter for awhile, but it was GREAT! The ending definitely is a lead-in to the next, and it just makes you gaaaaaah, HAVE to get your hands on the rest of this series!! In a good way!

I mean, some books you just know the cliffhanger is just so you will come back for more. A lot, if not all YA romance series take for ever for them to get their happy ending, but you know they will in the end. If its one of those I dont mind, cuz thats not really the same thing as a sad ending. But if its an outright sad ending, then I wont like it.

Hmm...well, I completely understand what you mean. The ending for Cinder isn't happy, but it does leave you with a glimmer of hope...it actually kind of ends mid-thought, like you know there's a LOT more amazing story to come. As much as I love to have that 'sort of' happy ending (like in (view spoiler)), I actually really like the way this one cuts off. I HATE heart-wrenching endings, like a certain series that has torn my heart out *ahem (view spoiler)* , so I'd tell you if this was going to leave you miserable! =)

Thanks for the clairification. I am always reminded of
The Iron Queen (Iron Fey, #3) by Julie Kagawa . I know some ppl were heartbroken at the ending of that book. But I wasnt at all. It was soooo obviously temporary, and the fact that the next book was in Ash's POV was obvious that it was going to be all about him finding his way back to her. So that kind of ending doesnt bother me.

Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi had some loose ends, but wasnt sad at all. Like, how did he justify leaving the tribe to be with her? And how can they be together if she is an Aud and he is a Scire? But they are together now so it was a happy ending. And there are at least a couple more books in the series, so I am not very worried about them not finding a way to be together before then. It was as much as we could hope for this early in the series imo.

Those two are perfect examples of feeling happy and not hanging in turmoil type of endings, although I cried like a baby in The Iron Queen clearly knowing The Iron Knight was coming out but still that's me LOL

I have to say that I really liked Rapture (Rapture, #1) by Phillip W. Simpson it was a good treat from the normal dystopian books around that it deals with the themes concerning the Rapture....
I think I might take a little break and finish Time Mends (Timber Wolves Trilogy, #2) by Tammy Blackwell and then I'll start Tomorrow Land by Mari Mancusi with Tatiana :D

Anna Dressed in Blood. Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna, #1) by Kendare Blake
I really like the book so far. Its about a boy that is following in his fathers foot steps as a ghost hunter/killer. I know what you are thinking they are already dead, so how can he kill them. He hunts down the ghost that are out to kill humans. He uses an anthame to kill them. His mom is a Wiccan and their cat also warns them about ghost. I haven't gotten to the part where he meets Anna yet. She's a ghost that kills anyone that enters her home. But for some reason she doesn't kill this boy.
