It's not leaping to conclusions. It's forming hypotheses.

Has he ever before? This could be an historical first.

message 610: by Cyril (new)

Cyril From what I remember of my Japanese, there were no capital letters, and there were also no spaces between words.

There's another possibility. Maybe the poster just wants to call attention to himself, as this one has. Look at all the posts. If he's hungry for attention, then he's certainly been well fed.

message 616: by Cyril (new)

Cyril It's so entertaining to watch a newbie say something that offends someone and the subsequent blanket party. Most don't stick around, but mark did (so far). Congratulations.

Phil | 11837 comments BunWat wrote: "Mark is saying that the discussion is going around and around in circles. Clearly he's trying not to respond aggressively to Scout's transparent attempt to start the fight back up again."

Ahh. I thought he was saying that the previous poster's comment applied to them as much as (or more than) to him. Just like my "pot :: kettle" post.

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments Barb! It was you in the Liz Taylor thread... :) We've since hugged and made up, people's. I'm not much of a fan of "simmer down" when it's directed at me, most especially when I probably really do need to simmer down.

Then later it was Phil. I suspect Phil posted it purposefully, though, just to get me riled up.

Good job, Phil! Way to make me threaten your kneecaps!!! :)

Yes, but that happens in lots of places. I'm sure I've done it myself, mentally at least, in other groups. Also, it is not the first time this has happened to me, and after calming down, I can usually take it. I remember when I first joined Horror Aficionados, there was a brutal triple tag-team on me because I said Richard Laymon wrote like a child molester, or words to that affect. That was the worst. But now I am friends with those former tormentors. Well, two of them at least.

We've cured Mark of his FTC!

We like it here when people accuse writers of writing like child molesters, so you've got that going for you.

mark monday (majestic-plural) A place to chat about anything that emerges.
We are a friendly bunch who have mostly been hanging about the ficus plant for a few years now. We're pretty relaxed, and our attitudes mostly are mild. If a couple hours pass between posts, hey, we're probably busy.

Make friends. Be authentic. Get mad. Laugh. Knock yourself out. Please don't act like this is a tupperware party for assholes.

True statement. Dutch truth-speaken.

message 649: by mark (new)

mark monday (majestic-plural) sun sign Virgo means i don't really get the concept of laziness. but chinese zodiac sign Dog means i can just laze around thinking various doggy thoughts, and that counts as a serious activity.
