I didn't care about ANY other approvals(well except for SPIRIT of course), I wanted to get approved for this one so bad!

For those of you who were wanting some of the Penguin titles that were up on Edelweiss but didn't get approval for them, Penguin's just made most of them available for request on NetGalley. This includes the following:

I was lucky enough to get some of them off Edelweiss (being a librarian has its perks, and apparently Penguin approval is one of them!), but I think they actually have more up on NG than they did originally on EW. I requested a couple of their children's titles as well. Hopefully they'll grant my requests, and yours! :)

That is a good deal. Sometimes there are awesome deals for "like new" books on the sites. I got one for a couple of bucks one time where you couldn't tell it had been read before.
I spend a ridiculous amount of time finding deals on books online :P I was shocked to find a brand new hardcover for 3 dollars, especially for an adult book. I never see that happen :P

I AM SUPER JEALOUS! :) But mostly I'm pissed at HarperTeen who approved me for five or six books in early Feb. and I've reviewed about four of them. Not necessarily favorable reviews, but honest. So I get denied for the four I just requested from them!!! Grrrrrr!!!!!! But Simon & Schuster has decided they're my buddy and half the time I can download without even requesting, so it's somewhat good in my hood...LOL Still pissed though.

I really should get a list going of places to check for Canada, AUS, UK, etc. but I rarely check the U.S. deals as it is. Do you know of any sites for your side of the world, Melanie?I'm pretty sure that Canada can take advantage of Kobo and itunes deals most of the time? Not sure how Sony and Diesel ebooks work outside of the states.
I'm in Thailand ans can still purchase the books for my nook and kindle at these prices. I just need to stop buying and read more before I spend all my USD on e books ;)
None that I know of, if its free AUS usually get it as well, but discounted price never happen.

If you get a VPN and set to the US you can buy the cheaper books. This is what I did while living in China. I also have a VPN for my computer. I think 20 USD for 6 months. Not too expensive, although there are free ones available for smart phones.
They have raised it again. Sometimes these deals only last a short time (as in hours).
