Haha, Shantel...I forgot about that post. I think I might have read it a month or two afterward and did end up loving the book. It's one of my favorites as well.

Being a librarian, I have come across a number of facts to share in obtaining free ebooks. Try out Michael Gallagher's blog or his book, Free Kindle Books and How to Find Them. His book costs $2.99 usually, however, it is sometimes offered for free. It details sources for free books from a variety of places. He also explains how books are offered for free. Publishers set the rules....sometimes the first book of a series is offered for for free when a new one is first published, sometimes a brand new author is offered up for free to get some reviews out there on a new author, an author could be offering up his book for free as a thanks to the public for reading his books, etc. The big thing is that all books are only offered free for a limited time. Gallagher's book has all of the websites that you can link to. When you are browsing, if there is a book that you like download it immediately because it might not be free when you come back to it later. If you search amazon for a particular genre (ex. free mysteries, etc.) will frequently come up with over 1000 free books or more to choose from. I have found so many surprisingly good books this way. A BN rep stated that the same thing is available thru them but I have not experienced it. Gallagher's blog sends you several updates per day with the most interesting books of the day or the best sites of the day to visit or reviews of some freebies or a great new tip. It costs you 99 cents per month for the blog but the first two weeks are free. Anyway, I apologize if this has been shared before but I just wanted to make sure that everyone knew how much is free out there and how to get access to it.
It's pretty easy to find the free books without paying someone to do it for you, imo. Especially when we have threads like this one to share our finds with each other. :)
In case people haven't already seen this, if you like Ally Carter's books there's a free novella out tomorrow that is a Gallagher Girls / Heist Society cross-over story:

This also just won an Alex Award. I didn't realize it was adult, but I guess it is?
It must read similar to YA even if the book is adult because I think most people seem to shelve it as YA.
Wendy F wrote: "Whaaaat! I'm actually gonna try for that one!"IKR! I was shocked to see it up there. *fingers crossed*

Get it right woman. It's Richelle Mead writing mythology. I will fake cry if I don't get this. And since it's a Penguin book, this means I will probably be crying.
Penguin usually approves me on NetGalley, but it's on an adult imprint and not the one that I have a contact for. I have no idea if they're gonna like me.

Lisa wrote: "What is Edelweiss?"Edelweiss is a site for book bloggers, media professionals, librarians, etc. where the publishers post books to request for review. A lot of major publishers are on there, but it's a lot harder for approval unless you're on the professional side of things. I personally have a mostly YA book blog but am always approved for Adult fic and usually denied YA.....

Anna, thanks for the info. I guess that is something that I wouldn't have access to.

Haha, I love Adrian too but Dimitri is still my personal fantasy man (tall, dark, handsome and can kick ass but isn't an ass as a person? yes, please). Adrian's got the best sense of humor though. He always brings the entertainment value. Carina, I'm fine. Apparently you fail at catching hints. :p
Jessica wrote: "
free on amazon"Thanks for letting us know. I have a friend who wants me to read this.
Stacia (the hype killer) wrote: "Carina, I'm fine. Apparently you fail at catching hints. :p"Damn, I just realizeed you might be right. I'm willing to start a FRESH new series that will take God knows how long to release all it's books, but I won't start Bloodlines when the 3rd book is about to release?
I better start making plans to read Bloodlines....but if I get approved for The Gods Game Board I won't complain ;)
Carina wrote:I better start making plans to read Bloodlines....but if I get approved for The Gods Game Board I won't complain ;)..."I really enjoy VA but haven't made the jump to Bloodlines either. I loved Dimitri but still felt bad for Adrian. I heart him too.

I don't know anyone who has read this one. I liked her If I Lie well enough. But this book sounds like it might do that love-the-guy-who-wants-me-dead thing that annoys me in other books. The whole healer thing has me interested, though.

I heard it as some similarities to Twilight, but I haven't read it myself yet.
