I finished Half Blood Prince over the weekend, and started and finished The Christmas Box by Richard Paul Evans. I received it for Christmas last year, but never read it. Now it will probably be reread each Christmas season. Good little book. I am trying not to start anything right now, I need to get my Christmas presents finished! We will see how long that lasts. :)
Didn't last long, I picked up Deathly Hallows last night and today, I forgot my book at work, so I downloaded Treasure Island from Goodreads onto my computer and have started that too. Something I hardly ever do is read more than one book at the same time!

I just started The Jane Austen Book Club. Has anyone else read this? It gets some pretty bad reviews on here but I'm liking it so far (only 30 pages in though).

I have never read any of them. My sister keeps saying I must. Maybe that is something I can get to in January.

Veronica, I LOVE The Trial! I read it in high school and it is still one of my favorites! Hope you got around to reading it and hope you enjoy(ed) it!

Aha! :') This gave me a laugh - it's so true. My boyfriend loves reading, thank God. If he didn't I wouldn't be impressed.

Anyways, I just finished Jane Eyre, which I thoroughly enjoyed except for the ending- which was good, but just not as good as I expected. I am now starting Vanity Fair and am about six or seven chapters into it. I'm already hooked on the characters, but am hoping the length of the novel won't eventually discourage me from finishing.

Oh, thank you for reading my reviews. I'm not sure which one I like better. Possession is much more exciting to read, while The Children's Book is much more in depth. They both start out kind of slow. I think if I had to pick one to start with I would pick Possession, just because it is slightly shorter and a little more plot-driven. That said, the beginning really drags, so it can be hard to get into. Both are good, so I guess I would just read whichever you can get your hands on.
I have been meaning to read Jane Eyre for a long time now, and in fact I'm hoping to read it over the break. Apparently there is a movie coming out next year, and I want to read the book before I go see it.

I seriously spent the entire day reading today. It was wonderful!

I just checked this out from my library. I'll probably read it soon.

I'm hoping to read Wolf Hall over the break as well. It won the Booker prize the year that The Children's Book was short-listed. I hope it's good!

I ordered Possession on Amazon! Thanks for the warning about it being hard to get into, I'll know not to get too discouraged. I don't know why, but after reading about it I was immediately intrigued!
I saw a trailer for the Jane Eyre movie a few weeks ago, and it motivated me to read the book. I don't like to read book-movies unless I've already read the book. I can't remember when it comes out though... March maybe?

Kelly, [book:The Heretic's Daughter is one of my favorite books!! I absolutely loved it! It's another historical fiction so of course I liked it, but I recommend this book to everyone.

I've been meaning to read some Chomsky. Have you read any of his other books? They all look great so I'm not sure which to start with.

I too enjoyed The Heretic's Daughter. Good book.
I finished all 4 of the Luxe series and started Atonement, my secret santa gift!
